19.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK | This week we celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both at Fire and Rescue NSW and in our community. #MoreThanFire #Community #NAIDOC2020

14.01.2022 Yesterday two of our specialist Hazmat operators took Hazmat Tanker 387 across to assist with an incident at Manildra flour mill. The nature of the incident involved many resources from Fire and Rescue NSW Regional West 2 including our Hazmat Tanker and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 312 Gulgong rehab van. These specialist appliances ensure that our firefighters have the best resources available to them to assist in rendering incidents safe whilst ensuring firefighter well being. After nearly 48 hours of firefighting operations the incident was handed back to the owners last night.

13.01.2022 SOLAR PANEL FIRES | We are urging residents with solar panels to remain aware and vigilant after an influx in solar panel fires this year. This footage was obta...ined from a neighbour in Glenwood who called Triple Zero (000) after noticing a house nearby had solar panels alight. This was one of six solar panel fires that Fire and Rescue NSW attended in the past week alone. These statistics show solar panel fires are up 20 percent compared to last year and continuing to rise. Isolation switches appear to be causing almost half of solar panel fires, so it is vital to ensure solar panels are installed and regularly maintained by a professional and that systems comply with Australian Standards. Always do a licence check with NSW Fair Trading before any installation and wiring takes place. This can be found at https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au//during-th/solar-panels. #MoreThanFire #ProtectTheIrreplaceable #PreparedForAnything

12.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN TOMORROW There has been a Total Fire Ban declared for the Central Ranges tomorrow Tuesday 1/12/2020 with a very high fire danger rating! But what does this actually mean? There is always a little bit of confusion around what we can and can’t do around Total Fire Bans.... When a Total Fire Ban (TOBAN) is declared this means as the public we must; Have NO fires in the open for cooking or camping. NO Welding or grinding to be conducted outdoors, NO barbecues using solid fuel such as wood, charcoal or heat beads. NO lighting fires in the open. Farmers should reconsider any tractor work/slashing on their properties. We can still have gas and electric BBQs as long as it is controlled by an adult and a continuous water source is nearby (e.g garden hose). If you see a fire please report it to 000 Immediately! #preparedforanything #FRNSW #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

05.01.2022 With the current storm warnings and what the radar is showing it’s definitely time to be prepared. Any of those new Christmas presents or loose items need to be secured. Don’t let that trampoline visit the neighbours.

04.01.2022 After many discussions relating to the Santa Run, we have decided that in the best interests of the community that we won’t complete the Santa Lolly Run this year due to COVID. We will however be back bigger and better next year. We hope you and your family have a happy Christmas and safe new year.

03.01.2022 At around 4pm both Pumper 387 and Hazmat Tanker 387 were responded to reports of a building fire at Parklands Resort, Mudgee. Upon arrival we were met by the maintenance team from Parklands Resort who were able to identify that the source of the smoke was due to burnt v-belts on an air compressor. Thankfully the staff at the resort called 000 as soon as they noticed smoke which got us responding. Please remember that we can always turn around if everything is ok so you’re better to call us sooner than wait for us to come.
