25.01.2022 We couldn't get a meeting with Adam Brooks to discuss the community fire safety on the North West Coast. Perhaps we should have asked to meet with Terry?

23.01.2022 Legislative council Independents throw their support behind additional fire rescue crews in the Burnie and Devonport.

22.01.2022 Congratulations on your #1 Butter Chicken.

19.01.2022 Sam Mitchell - Labor for Clark has signed the Tasmanian Fire Safety Pledge. Mark Shelton MP and Peter Gutwein have not signed the pledge.

14.01.2022 For a quality independent fire service, put the Liberals last. For a quality independent fire service, put the Liberals last.

11.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we record the passing of LFF Robert Bushell in Devonport. Robert had been afflicted with Motor Neuron Disease over the last 3 years or so and passed away at his family home last Monday. Our thoughts are with his wife Charlene and with his children Rachael and Ben. Robert was a respected and dedicated firefighter who will be missed by his work colleagues as well as by his family and friends. Rest in peace LFF Bushell.

11.01.2022 Notice of Event change Having considered the increased risk of fire activity in the southern part of Tasmania over the next few days a decision has been taken to postpone the rally, that was to have occurred on Saturday the 1st of February 2020. This is not a decision which has been lightly undertaken. Community safety is paramount and is always at the forefront for the UFU and it's members, we want to have available every possible resource should they be needed due to the already limited and over-stretched resources currently available to TFS. The issues around appropriate resourcing remains a key issue for UFU members, we would like to thank all those UFU and community members who had committed to supporting this event.

09.01.2022 Some of the TFS Vertical Rescue technicians undertaking skills maintenance in Hobart today.

08.01.2022 Firefighters in Launceston speaking with the community outside Peter Gutwein's office about the importance of crews in the North West and having an independent fire service protected by a statutory authority.

07.01.2022 Very welcome additions to the TFS career crews, they will need to run 2 recruit courses per year for the foreseeable future to simply maintain current establishment numbers due to generational turnover within the service. At some point there needs to be a revisiting of the establishment to reflect the complexity of tasks now undertaken by career firefighters in addition to their historical structural firefighting activities.

03.01.2022 Smart use of technology coupled with appropriately trained and resourced initial attack teams must be the way to go.
