23.01.2022 One of our Directors, Sam, was recently engaged as an expert witness to investigate an insurance claim made by a building owner / occupier the insurer refused to accept the claim because the contractor who did the work was not properly licensed and it cost the owner / occupier hundreds of thousands of dollars. Building owners / occupiers must ensure that the inspection, cleaning and maintenance of their tanks is done in accordance with the relevant legislation and Standards and is performed by properly licensed contractors to avoid these types of risks.

17.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL BUILDING OWNERS / MANAGERS! - Do your tanks comply with the recently amended Australian Standard AS1851? - Are you insured if your fire tanks fail in the event of a fire? Even if they have not been maintained correctly? - Do your tanks contractors hold the necessary licences and insurances to inspect, clean and maintain your tanks? ... If the answer to any of the above questions is no, there can be serious consequences including large fines and, in some cases, imprisonment. FTA can provide you with confidence and peace of mind that your tanks are being looked after correctly. Call us on (07) 5559 1919 to discuss your site-specific requirements! - - - - - - - #firesafety #safety #safety #fireprotection #safetyfirst #firesystems #tanks #fire #water

17.01.2022 Are you voiding your fire tank manufacturer’s warranty? If you have not maintained your fire tank according to AS 1851:2012 (Routine Service of Fire Systems and Equipment), you may have already voided your manufacturer’s warranty. Many tank manufacturers have a clause in their conditions that voids your warranty if you don’t have your AS 1851:2012 inspections and cleans performed by a licenced and qualified contractor.... They work on the pretence that most tank warranties will be voided within the first twelve months of installation. Unfortunately, there are too many tanks that fall into this category either through lack of awareness or unqualified/unlicensed contractors working on tanks. This further demonstrates the importance of having fully qualified and licenced contractors work on your fire tanks and having your inspections and cleans carried out on time. When your tanks are due to be cleaned or inspected, the question you should be asking is, Are my tanks FTA approved?
