Stay tuned and you’ll not only get across the rules but might pick up an i...nteresting conversation starter for the next family BBQ. Let’s start at the beginning with the public holiday dates: Christmas Day Friday 25 December New Year’s Day Friday 1 January Boxing Day Saturday 26 December + an additional public holiday on Monday 28 December in ACT, NSW, QLD, Vic and WA Boxing Day For NT, SA and Tas Monday 28 December is the Boxing day public holiday instead of Saturday 26 December. Don’t forget, some states also have additional part-day holidays. SA & NT have part-day public holidays (7pm to midnight) on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. And QLD has a part-day public holiday (6pm to midnight) on Christmas Eve.
