24.01.2022 What a year!! 2020 has had so many challenges and difficulties but as tutors, students and parents we've really staunched up to the hardships, achieved great outcomes and enjoyed the process despite everything!! in 2020 at First Education: - We won the 2020 Local Business Award for Education Services, - We had an HSC student top the state in 2020 HSC Mathematics Advanced, We had an HSC student achieve the highest possible ATAR (99.95),... - We supported hundreds of students in their preparations for their HSC Exams, OC Tests, Selective School Tests and other academic benchmarks, - We moved pretty much overnight to video call sessions for two months and are now flexible between face to face and video call sessions, - WE HAD FUN!! In short, we built and continue to build the passion and confidence of our students so they can achieve their goals!! Happy New Year!! Looking forward to an amazing 2021 :D

We also know that now more than ever tuition is more important than ever to keep some of the structure in place to make sure we remain on top of our learning. 07.01.2022 It has been quite an emotional few days with our Peter finishing up as the Earlwood Centre Manager after six (!!!) years at the helm of our little corner of the world!! Thank you for all the time and effort you've put into making First Education Earlwood an amazing place to work, come and learn for students, parents and us tutors!!! We will forever miss you and wish you every success in all you do in your promising career and your life going forward!! We also welcome John our new Earlwood Centre Manager who will be leading us going forward!! John is an extremely capable organiser and a warm hearted all round awesome bloke, we look forward to many great times ahead :D

06.01.2022 We know that everyone is doing it tough right now and our students need more support than ever with their learning, so we're very proud to be announcing a Homework Club to be starting Monday 27th April (the start of Term 2)!! It will be essentially a video call operating Mon-Sat 3-6pm that students can join to work through their homework, ask questions about their school work or just generally get some guidance around their learning! It's a completely free service to all Firs...t Education Earlwood students who would have access to one of our passionate and talented tutors for the duration of the Homework Club!! In the lead up to the HSC we will be running free exam sessions (with included free lunch) for Year 12 Maths Adv, Ext 1 and Ext 2 to encourage the sitting of past HSC and Trial exams. The sitting of past exams (under exam conditions) is one of the most thorough ways of ensuring that we perform at our best in the upcoming HSC exams. Below are the students featured in the newspaper who achieved the top band in at least one subject (incredible result!!) but well done to each and every one of you for putting in the wonderful effort that you did!! 02.01.2022 Were very much looking forward to starting Term 3 today!! At the same time we have been seeing whats going on with COVID-19 and want to make sure we put everyones health and safety above all else (and then were as committed as ever to build our students passion and confidence so they can conquer their goals!!). Parents will have the choice going forward to continue via face to face sessions or video call sessions (please contact your childs tutor to move to video call s...essions if required). For the parents opting to continue via face to face sessions please be aware that we are putting the following health and safety measures in place: 1. Thermometer checks as students and tutors enter the Centre (and obviously if your child is not feeling well please ask them not to come into the Centre). 2. Social distancing measures vacating gathering areas as quickly as possible, distance between students and tutors, etc 3. Hand sanitisers in every room and at the entrance to the Centre. 4. Minimising personnel we ask that parents not come up to the Centre but leave their children at the bottom of the stairs to go up for their sessions. We will get through this (using both logic and imagination - pretty cool that Einstein said this)!!

Looking forward to another amazing and enjoyable term :D And in the ancient words of the Roman philosopher emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Waste no more time talking about great souls and how they should be. Become one yourself!" (also don't procrastinate by googling Marcus Aurelius, believe us he was awesome, and he wouldn't want this. Go do what you need to do and be great!!)

01.01.2022 Times are challenging, but we're getting through this (like we said we would!!). One on one sessions are still happening via video call! If video calls can't happen (and the tutor is comfortable and there is available space at First Education Earlwood to maintain social distancing) then face to face sessions are happening as well!... For those students learning via video call we're still running our free HW Club every afternoon 3-6pm! Year 3-4 Mondays 3-6pm Year 5-6 Tuesdays 3-6pm Year 7-8 Wednesdays 3-6pm Year 9-10 Thursdays 3-6pm Year 11 Fridays 3-6pm Year 12 Saturdays 3-6pm All the tutors have been absolutely amazing in being able to adapt to the challenges and provide quality tuition in spite of everything!! Special mention though to our highly effective Centre Manager Peter for keeping on top of everything and making sure everything works out as it should!
