13.01.2022 Hi there everyone. Our first First Hike for 2019 will be a day hike for girls and young women refugees and migrants on Saturday 23 March. We will be collecting our hikers from their homes at about 8am, driving to Honeysuckle Creek in Namadbi National Park. The group of 15 hikers and 5 guides will hike 4km to Booroomba Rock where there is an amazing view back towards Canberra. We’ll have lunch there then hike back to Honeysuckle for a campfire with damper and golden syrup. We’...ll have the hikers back home by 7pm. If you would like to join us, or know someone who is interested, please contact us. We are a voluntary organisation, running on donations. Everything for the hikers is free.

12.01.2022 Storage space needed Dear FHp supporters, We now have a substantial collection of FHP gear - about 4 cubic meters in total. We could spend $70 per month of our precious fund-raising money forever, for commercial storage space, but doesn't anyone have 1/4 of an empty garage or shed? ... Here is another idea to save all those storage expenses - FHP will buy a temporary 2x2m shed, and we can put it in a distant corner of your substantial estate. Do you have an empty corner? Please let me know. Yours, McComas

05.01.2022 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU . This has been such an action-packed year for First Hike Project Inc and we would like to thank all of the companies, individua...ls, groups, land owners, education institutions, outdoor companies, retailers, volunteers and government departments who have made it possible. . We would have loved to have sent you out individual cards detailing the contribution you provided us but we (probably more of an 'I' says Neil) haven't the time left to organise this now. Please know that we cherish your involvement and acknowledge that we could not do it without you..... we really are stronger together! . We hope you have a great break, enjoy New Years and see you back refreshed for another amazing season of hiking early in 2020! See more
