25.01.2022 HI! To all of our facebook friends out there, we have a few needs we'd like to communicate. There are huge demands for furniture assistance right now. With th...e current crisis, many homeless have been quickly relocated into accommodation, which is brilliant, but many are lacking in furniture. Currently on our books we have 10 people all in need of a small couch, small table and chairs, small tv stand. We have a 29yr old who is due to have a baby next week who was couch surfing and now has a place in need of literally everything, we have a mum with 3 young children who has escaped domestic violence who needs beds and a fridge, and another mum with 3 who has been homeless for 2yrs who just got accommodation in need - they are currently sleeping on blow up air mattresses. If anyone has furniture in the Brisbane or Logan area they would like to donate, we are would then be able to pass these items on. Our reserves are depleted, and with many other charities putting their furniture relief on hold, there is way more demand that what we can currently supply. Also, we are in need of a local warehouse, or storage area if anyone knows of an empty building. Thanks guys! See our awesome team below delivering, led by the awesome Paul Shay See more

24.01.2022 Also, just an indicator of how much food is going out and how miraculous it is: Our freezers can only handle enough meat for two of our community meals at once..., (Weds and Sunday). We are seeing amazing provision, with various people turning up with meat at the door sometimes, (thankyou!). When we ran out of meat this week ,we received a donation of 270 schnitzels, which is enough for this Sunday. Amazing provision coming in to meet the needs! (we are now giving out 240 meals Weds, and 270 on Sundays) in addition to food parcels, fruit, muffins/biscuits, snacks. Thank you Jesus! We do need more gospel tracts as we've run out if anyone has a supplier they can think of. Simon and the team are doing an excellent job out there on the streets giving to those in need and sharing their faith as they do so. Thank you everyone! (See Simmo and our old friend Marty below!) 24.01.2022 We would like to say thanks to yet another unsung hero, Ashleigh. Ashleigh is a chef and a Bible College student at CMC. He has been volunteering at Fishers o...f Men, intially because of a suggestion from Simmo, and then, because of an ongoing desire to serve the Lord. Ashleigh has rolled up his sleeves and been helping on Weds with the cooking for the marginalised and homeless we serve within our community, and then has led the team/vans out on the streets. As a result of these efforts, many have received help in their time of need. One fella, (pictured here), was having problems with substance abuse, he came up to the team and asked for help. He gave his life to the Lord that night in addition to receiving physical assistance. Since then, Ashleigh has met him for coffee, and is attempting to be a friend and support him in his new found decision to follow Christ. Thank God for faithful people with a heart to serve the Lord. This ministry could not happen without them. If you want to serve, there may just be a place here for you! Contact Bobby on : 0432098534, or Branwen on 33410160. God bless you. Thank you Ashleigh! 24.01.2022 HI Everyone! Just to let you know we are gearing up for a huge Christmas of giving. We will be sharing the good news and having several Christmas parties for ...people in need. In total, including the putreach to Cherbourg, we estimate we'll be giving presents to over 400 people. There are needs for toiletries for the homeless and toys for Cherbourg, Please think about how you can contribute if at all possible, we will keep you posted! God bless! See more

23.01.2022 HI, Also as a result of covid19 responses, our car wash at the Puma on Mt Gravatt Capalaba Rd, Wishart has had to be stopped, (bought back by the parent company... as revenues have decreased). Good news, we are relocating to the BP at 2806 Logan Rd in Underwood. This Saturday will be our first one there, so please come along, get your car washed and even support the petrol station who is giving us a go! Our car wash income has hugely decreased of late and we are in need of an injection of funds with an increase of late in all of our charitable services, and one of our old faithful cars biting the dust this week. 22.01.2022 We have many unsung heroes in our community and today I'd like to introduce you to Fishers of Men. These guys help the homeless and those with drug or alcohol a...ddiction to get back up onto their feet by providing food and support. Simon is one of these young men who has turned his life around; he took the opportunity to do better for himself and what an inspiration he is to all of us. Unfortunately Fishers of Men do not receive any government funding and if I am elected as Mayor, I will support their work in any capacity that I can. When our City starts moves forward in leaps and bounds, I do not want anyone being left behind. If you are in a position to help them out financially, please contact Bobby at http://www.fishersofmen.org.au Please VOTE 1 for Paul Taylor at the March Council Election. 21.01.2022 This week people have given their lives to Jesus, and we've seen amazing provision....AGAIN! One guy from the streets has left everything and came into the dis...cipleship house this week, desperate for change. The guys have been praying for him for ages. Praise God! We have also in the last few days helped a man who only just got his 3 children back. They were sleeping on the floor, with no furniture whatsoever. Thank God for the awesome work the guys in the discipleship house do as they help those most in need. We also helped an indigenous mum with 2 children, giving her a lounge, washing machine, etc, etc, etc, an Indian lady escaping domestic violence with a tv unit, an elderly couple having to move take a bunch of rubbish to the tip, and another lady desperately in need with nothing who got into accommodation after being homeless. Sometimes, it's just like....how does all this manage to happen? It's got to be God! Thank you to everyone who has helped and who prays. Thanks to Ashley for taking the team out again to the city tonight! See more

21.01.2022 For the last 5 years+, Citipointe Christian College's Hospitality Dept has incorporated into the school curriculum a segment on nutrition, using that to springb...oard into supporting the homeless and providing food for Fishers of Men for two weeks. The school kids cooking for the homeless! Awesome. This year was no exception. Pictured is Simon Geeves, (the Secondary Hospitality teacher), who supported by Bronwyn (not Branwen), organised this years cook up and provision of 200 yummy pre-packaged meals, 2 Sundays in a row. Bobby, Aaron and Joel from FOM went to the school to collect, the rest of the team was very glad to have a couple of Sundays off cooking and the meals were delicious, the homeless were fed, and everyone was happy. Thank you students and staff of Citipointe Christian College! God bless you! See more

20.01.2022 Another epic Sunday. This is what 250 meals looks like laid out, (inside and outside tables to dish up). Thank you to the volunteers. Thank you to the person who dropped off a box of about a thousand tracts. Very much appreciated, (and needed!) God bless you.

20.01.2022 Hi everyone, thank you for your support! We are down to 1 car wash a week at the moment, with the Caltex at Sunnybank being taken over by the parent company an...d closing that car wash down. We are still at the BP on Logan Rd at Underwood on Saturdays, 9am to 4pm. Pray for us that we are able to get another location. God bless you. We are also needing meat at the moment for meals. Thank you to Suren, the boss at Optus Springwood, he blessed us with 24 kg of chicken breast. Believe it or not, that is what it takes for one night!! See more

20.01.2022 Holy Spirit you are welcome here.

19.01.2022 This week we had a call from someone in Melbourne. "Dianne" and her partner had attended one of our meetings on a Sunday night 5 years ago. They were both ad...dicted to ice, homeless, and sleeping under the storey bridge. Dianne's partner had been abused by a Catholic priest in his childhood and hated anything to do with religion and Christianity. They came only for the food and sat at the back of the meeting while the service went on. We gave them a hot meal, blankets, clothes, fussed over them. Bobby's testimony rang true to Dianne's partner who recognised a difference between what Bobby was sharing about Christ, and what happened with the priest earlier in his life. He accepted a Bible from us. They went back to the story bridge that night to sleep, but the very next day, Dianne's partner was reading the Bible in the morning when she woke up. They called from Melbourne to say Gidday and ask where they should go to Church down there, because it was here that their lives started to turn around. They are no longer addicted to ice. They own a car and a caravan, and live in a caravan park. Dianne's partner has a part time job, they are married, and have been watching tv evangelists every Sunday morning, but want to find a place to fellowship in Victoria, (we gave them some phone numbers of friends from MFI down there, and suggested the Baptists, or a Pentecostal Church if they couldn't find something close to Bendigo). It began here, 5 years ago! Praise God. Only He can do that stuff. As a foot note: We are really sorry to all those people who have been asking us to start meetings back again at our place, especially those homeless who don't feel comfortable elsewhere. We are looking at ways to begin again, and will let you know. Our current format means it's hard to figure out how to do it, but we are going to give it a go! Will keep you posted. See more

19.01.2022 Some of our wonderful volunteers. Thanks guys for a great night! So good to spend time together.

18.01.2022 After so many years of pouring their hearts into making sure the bookwork is done, (and to a very high standard!), we would like to express our love, gratitude ...and thankfulness to Roger and Marie Schwarz. They would be the first to tell you that when they first started helping with the finance, receipts and entry of all that data onto the quickbooks system, our accounts amounted to about one or two folders. Now, it takes at least 8 or 9 folders to hold the years accounts in readiness for audit, (Fishers of Men is a tax deductible gift recipient, requiring an annual external audit). Roger, a retired school principle was amazing in his ability to deduct gst without a calculator, Marie put up with Branwen, (who is writing this, so it's ok) and deserves a medal of honour. The two are now "retired" from this "retirement job" and we will miss them. Thank God that another volunteer, Jen is stepping into the role. With her years of banking experience, the whole process of learning a new system has seemed to come fairly naturally. Praise God. Thank you sincerely Mr and Mrs Schwarz, and thank you Jen!. See more

18.01.2022 We regret to inform that our dear friend Ronnie passed away this morning after being in hospital for over a week. He had major organ failure. We pray that he has gone home to be with our Lord.

18.01.2022 The Journal Science published a study that examined the relationship between philanthropy and well-being. Researchers analyzed the spending patterns of more than 600 men and women, then questioned them about their general happiness. When subjects spent money to pay bills or buy items for themselves, they didn't report feeling happier. Yet when subjects spent money buying gifts or donating to charities, their actions made them feel much happier. The bottom line? You don't get happiness. It comes from what you give. 17.01.2022 Thank you for showing a little kindness to the people of Brisbane :)

16.01.2022 We are in constant awe of how the Lord provides. Last night we gave out heaps of hot meals, blankets, beanies and scarves, fruit, bread and donuts. That was a...wesome. What's even better is the impact that is happening in people's lives. See below: an indigenous couple receiving help, 2 of the team praying for a man with no shoes, (there were quite a few people out and about in the cold with no shoes, we didn't have those, but we did have blankets beanies and scarves). Two prodigal sons were lead back to the Lord and a few gave their lives to the Lord for the first time. Steve Copley popped out of the woodwork, I got to pray for him, (he now has a unit of his own, says he wants to change). We prayed for healing for quite a few people, encouraged others. One man, drunk and broken hearted cried out for prayer as his mum had just passed away, the team were able to spend some time with him speaking into his life. Thank you to the awesome team who came out with me! We are blessed to serve an awesome God. See more

15.01.2022 This week we have given over 600 meals out on the streets and to families in need in Logan, (it's all right, we bought 180kg of sausages last week, so that mean...s we will be eating sausages a couple of weeks in a row!). Our big bus has died. Looks like we might be buying that house to help more men recover from addictions, (pray for that one!), two new ladies have been helping out in the office, we have given furniture to at least 5 different households in need, we were blessed to receive trolleys and dollies to help with furniture transportation, which was possible due to a grant received from Logan City Council, (thank you!), and we received donations of blankets, clothes and some food from two lovely students of Clairvaux Mackillop College who rallied together for a social justice project to collect for us, and tomorrow is our 25th wedding anniversary. It has been a huge week! See more

15.01.2022 HI, Due to the covid19 crisis, we have had to change the way we do things at Fishers of Men. We are now not having meetings at 753 Underwood Rd, but are pre-c...ooking and delivering food to people in need on Weds, Sun, (usual meeting and community meal nights), Fri & Sat, (usual street van nights). We are live-streaming our meetings on Sundays using facebook messenger video, or zoom, contact if you would like a link for these things to say connected. People are still able to access food parcels at 753 Underwood Rd, but hours of access have reduced, call 33410160 if in need to make sure we are able to help. We are still assisting those in need with furniture, and are still operating the two houses for men wanting to change and get over addiction in their lives. Thanks for your help to those who are donating and assisting! God bless you. See more

15.01.2022 One of our car wash locations today, Matilda Eight Mile Plains. Come say hi!

14.01.2022 Good news! We don't receive any govt funding, and our fuel bill alone over the last financial year was $27,000, so Zoie (our eldest daughter), put a submission... in to Logan City Council for covid related funding as the demand for furniture has increased so much. We have received news that the grant was successful for $5000 to go towards trolleys and fuel to contribute. Praise God! And thank you Logan City Council and Zoie! This is the team before they went out last night. Evangelism led by the awesome "Saint Nik" (this is just after prayer). Amazing testimonies. One person suffering badly from either mental illness or demon possession, or both gave his life to the Lord, and had a remarkable breakthrough, others received prayer and food/blankets, even sleeping bags to warm them. The team gave out over 200 meals. In addition, the furniture team gave to 2 people who had been homeless enough to start them off, and another mother of 4 received beds for her kids. Praise God! See more

14.01.2022 Praise God, His mercies never fail! This week, we have fed over 450 people. We cooked a creamy garlic/tomato/bacon pasta on Sunday, (approx 200 huge meals), w...ere given another 50 out on the streets and gave away everything. The team was led by "Saint Nik" (Nicholas Greidanus). Many people prayed with our team on the streets, some wanting to change their lives. On Weds, we cooked over 200 chicken and rice meals, all was given, a newcomer, Ashleigh Puth led the team and did a great job. Thanks also to John Powell and John Martin and the boys who went out. People's hearts were touched. On Sunday we also had the privilege of helping a family in need. This family was one with 8 children, 4 boys between 2-10, 3 girls between 12-16, and a 14 yr old boy with a mum and dad. They were from NZ, with no income support, they had been living in TENTS!! in the hills, (bush) for 2 years!!!! They had just gotten a house through Wesley Mission, (7 bedrooms) and had literally nothing. By the time we finished with them, they had everything. We were even able to give the kids a tv, and blessed them with food as well as a small fridge, couch, beds, etc. Three utes picked up furniture from various donors on the same day and all converged at their house to bless them. They were blown away. Yesterday we helped a man with lung cancer and two teenage boys. He was given a beautiful queen size bed, couch, and other items. Our team was touched to be able to help someone so desperately in need. Thank God! and thank you also to everyone who has contributed. You really are making a difference. See more

13.01.2022 Thanks to Orane Swan, Rhonda and Eric Bailey for a Fun Fundraising Night.

13.01.2022 Can you help Sam help the Homeless. It is winter and it is cold and there are people living on the streets with no warm clothes, food and blankets. In Qld 48.5%... people per 10,000 are homeless. Sam is helping a wonderful charity called the Fishers of Men. They provide a Christian Community based street van in Logan, meals, blankets, furniture for those exiting the crisis cycle and a residential drug and alcohol rehibilitation program for people in need. In one word they are amazing! Items desperately needed: Staple & non-perishable food items such as tea, coffee, milo, long life milk, soups, noodles (in a bowl) Blankets Sleeping bags Warm Mens clothing - jackets, track suit pants, beanies, scarfs, gloves. Anything else is of course appreciated. These items can be either collected by us or dropped off (please pm fir details). Any funds can also be issued with a receipt by Sam or directly deposited into the Fishers of Mens Account. Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Sam is out on his holidays asking for help. Could you kindly share this post. Your support and donations are greatly appreciated. Some photos below of last years fundraiser where 70 packs plus more were given. 13.01.2022 Yesterday was huge!. We made hamburgers, probably only around 280-300, but it felt like a million by the time we were done! (Who knew hamburgers were so labou...r intensive?) The guys put their heart and soul into the effort, with 2 teams then going out to the city, and one to Logan. Below are the city photos, (hamburgers being enjoyed). Thanks Matty G and Luke H for being mainstays on the team. They were joined by Carlton, Joel, (2 indigenous brothers) and Bobby. People were blessed. In Logan, Luke W, and Steve H did the run. They had a divine appointment with one bloke down on his luck, gave him a feed and prayed for him, he gave his life to the Lord. They also gave food to a mum who had 7 kids, and then ran out!!! The furniture teams blessed another mum of 4 kids with a household of goodies, returning several times to the same location to give more. Thank you also to Ps Andrew Staggs, Dean of CMC Bible College, who for Weds and Sunday, (ministry week for the students), came and blessed the men from the discipleship house after they finished all the outreach prep. It was a blessing to have someone come and minister when we were so exhausted, thank you! Andrew shared an encouraging message on Weds, and one of the students shared Sun pm, (photo bottom right). Thank you Bible College students for sharing, we enjoyed your company! If you are bored on Weds or Sunday arvos, (from 1pm at 753 Underwood Rd), we could use more volunteers, there is plenty to do. Others are needed for the teams to go out. Just give us a call or drop by if you would like to. Thanks everybody! See more

12.01.2022 Last night I ventured out with some of the awesome guys from Fishers of Men, into Brisbane City to support some of the people who are doing it tough. Thank you ...my brother Simmo, and my new friends AJ, Shannon, Carlton, Glen, and Adam....you guys rock. We handed out approx 200 hot meals, prepared earlier by more of the Fisher’s team. Of course, we also took 150 fresh baked muffins which were gratefully received! A big thank you also to Rachel Olsen, who is helping me bake now. We also handed out many blankets, sleeping bags and care packages. The opportunities are many to practically touch people with the love of God and it was a humbling experience. A huge Thank you to the people who have supported this effort through the COVID pandemic! If you would like to help with either ingredients or donations, feel free to message me. Cash donations are tax deductible! See more

12.01.2022 Here is a great cause that we can all support. Fishers of Men help the homeless in Brisbane and surrounds. So, please help support them by passing this onto your friends. They are feeding the homeless on Christmas Day so if you would like the opportunity to help others, please contact them.

11.01.2022 So many people in need of help! This week we were saddened by a young woman with many children who was so afraid. She had to escape a violent situation, and c...onsequently received our furniture assistance very cautiously. We ran out of food for both the city and Logan runs, in Logan, we are delivering to households with 8 and 9 people, (including children), in the city, there are more and more people needing assistance. Thank God for our teams, and the men in the discipleship houses who are realising the benefit of helping others. We would also like to say thank you to everyone who volunteers and/or has donated in any way shape or form. Your contributions are making a huge difference in the lives of many. See more

11.01.2022 Christ looks after us. This week, we have seen great provision. The Lord lifting up His children. Cherry, (Branwen's mum), has an electric wheelchair, it nee...ded repair, leaving Cherry being unable to get around without considerable pain. Fishers of Men received a donation of an electric wheelchair worth about $15,000, (2 yrs old). We drove it down there courtesy of Steve Hemers, and it will be good with minor alterations. Praise God. On Saturday, (it has never happened before), our gurney lifted some paint off of someone's bonnet at the car wash. It looked like there was prior damage, but we decided to pay for repairs, (not enough to warrant excess fees). The price came in at over $500. We paid the repairer, but on hearing of what we do, and what the incident was, the repairer decided to refund the cost! Praise God. We are seeing so many good things happen, and know it is God. There is one thing though...we need more volunteers for our many activities. We are helping heaps of people. So.....if you are bored and would like to help out in a worthwhile cause, we would love to see you!. Call me on 0432098534, or drop into 753 Underwood Rd Rochedale Sth on Weds or Sunday arvos, but be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty! We also need help in the office, and help with the furniture distribution. Again....if you have a heart and you are bored, we could use your help! Thank you. See more

11.01.2022 Another epic Sunday alright and this is what it looks like to give out over 200 meals and bread and groceries and blankets and cakes and fruit and lollies a...nd chocolate and and love and joy and hope, for the good news is that Jesus Christ the Lord of all creation has made a way for us back into the eternal embrace of Almighty God. Just put your faith in the only one that will never let you down. Put your faith in Jesus! Thankyou my Lord King Jesus! See more

10.01.2022 We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who is donating and helping out at the moment. Real impact is being made as people experience the love of Christ th...rough your generosity. Fishers of Men has expanded so much in giving of late and we are especially grateful to the community groups of Rochedale, Springwood and Shailer Park, who have gotten behind us with much needed furniture. This has meant we have been able to assist many transitioning from homelessness and crisis situations, (eg vicitms of domestic violence) into housing with necessities they would not otherwise be able to afford. THANK YOU! The fact you guys are local has helped heaps with our petrol costs, (sometimes 3-4 utes going out at one time all over the place picking up and delivering) See below, one ute loaded up for a single man moving into housing from homelessness. We try to give as much as possible! See more

09.01.2022 We will be holding a Memorial for Ronnie Tibbits on Tuesday the 20th of April at 753 Underwood Rd, Rochedale Sth, at 7pm, with a light supper following. We wish to honour the memory of an old friend, and welcome all who would like to do so. See more

09.01.2022 HI Everyone! Good news, The Brisbane Chinese Alliance Church has kindly opened their grounds for us to have another car wash on Saturdays, (we have only had on...e open for a while due to covid). We are having a 4 week trial beginning the 31st of October, the address is: 983 Rochedale Rd, Rochedale. Praise God for the body of Christ. Bring your car to be washed, we will be there waiting, and remember the funds go towards the operating costs of all our other charitable ventures. Also, on the 23rd of Dec, we will be having a special Christmas outreach to those in need. As usual we will be delivering food, but we are also aiming at giving every recipient a Christmas gift, (around 300 people), which we hope will include toiletries a towel, and Christmas food/goodies. If you would like to buy a towel, or some deodorant, shaving cream, shampoo/conditioner, pocket sized hand sanitizer, or other items for the homeless Christmas presents, we would be grateful! They can be dropped off to 753 Underwood Rd, or contact Jan (the present co-ordinator) on: 0412 671 796. We are also hoping to have carols and short Christmas presentation on the streets as we go delivering the food. Should be fun. Another update: We have a shortage of beds in the discipleship house. Not enough second stage opportunities for those that are ready to transition to further independence. Pray for us, we have put an offer on the house across the road from Lorimer, which has been accepted, subject to finance, building and pest, and due diligence. We are aware of the fact that unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain and want to do His will. This is the third time this year we have found a house that might be suitable for our purposes, the others didn't work out. Please pray for us that this one does. It will mean we can assist more men in their rehabilitation, and journey towards freedom in Christ.

08.01.2022 Thanks for the support In Force Personal Training!

08.01.2022 Every good and perfect thing comes from our Lord God Hallelujah. This is some of us at Fishers of men getting ready to hit the streets of Brisbane CBD and share... the love of Jesus Christ. Our Lord commands us to " Love one another as I have loved you.." Over 200 meals were given out tonight and every single one of them were delivered in Jesus name. We gave out Holy Bibles, many many gospel tracks. I was sitting with some guys and a woman was reading a tract so I asked her to read it to me and she did. Then I asked her if she understood it. She said that it was ok and she would get it in a minute and then a minute later she started to cry. Thankyou Holy Spirit! I love You Jesus. If anyone wants to donate some Bibles or food or funds let me or Bobby know. God bless you. Thankyou my Lord King Jesus. See more

07.01.2022 Imagine Peter, with that old greasy fishing apron around him like that. See Jesus saying, You’re Simon, so follow Me and you’ll become fishers of men. I’d rather hear that than anything I know of: just, Follow Me. And then the people of that day looked to that old fisherman. If he’d have had some great degree to go by he would have had something to glory in, but God took nothing and made something out of it. ... That’s the way God does: just takes the nothing to make something. And when you can become nothing in your own sight, you’re becoming something in God’s sight then. And always remember this, friends, the way up is down. He that exalts himself shall be abased, but he that humbled himself shall be exalted. So just love Him with all your heart and forget all you ever knew about all other things but Jesus Christ. Just go ahead and love Him and work for Him; serve Him. If He wants you to be the doormat, well, you just be the doormat. It’s whatever He wants you to do, you do it. God bless you. See more

07.01.2022 Ok, so with covid, our furniture teams are working hard to keep everyone safe. This is Raymond, who is doing a great job lately and taking on extra responsibil...ity in all sorts of areas, (who would have thunk it). He is busy getting donations ready for a young family in need. Yesterday we helped a young single mum with a 4 month old girl, and 18 month old boy with an entire household of furniture. Three utes and a trailer and 3 separate teams went there to deliver. She now has a house full of furniture. We also blessed another mum in need with a washing machine, fridge, and microwave thanks to the generosity of Marilyn McKenny's family. Thank you for helping others in your time of grief, if is very much appreciated. See more

07.01.2022 HI! Thank you to everyone who is giving furniture! It is so much appreciated. Yesterday we were able to help a 64 year old lady victim of domestic violence s...et up house, an elderly man similarly escaping a traumatic situation with no furniture set up house, and two families, one with 5 children, the other with 3. The family with 5 children had no beds for 4 of them, and not even a tv! We were able to assist with 2 bunk beds, toys, a tv, lounge suite, and dining table. For the family with 3 kids, we gave 2 single beds, and everything they needed to set up a bedroom for 2 boys. We also gave out over 200 hamburgers, both in Logan and the homeless haunts in the city. We are having our fund raising car wash this Saturday at the BP on Logan Rd, (Underwood), and the Caltex on Pinelands Rd @ Sunnybank Hills. Come drop in if you are in the area to support the ministry! Thanks again everyone, and see you!

06.01.2022 These three lovely ladies from Elements Retirement Living rocked up at our door on Saturday morning. They and some other ladies from Elements had been knitting... beanies for the homeless. On Sunday, every single last one of them was given away to people on the streets in need. We are overwhelmed by your generosity, thank you so much to the local community who really has a heart to reach out and help those less fortunate. You are a blessing! See more

06.01.2022 Thank you Jesus! (and Jeff and Jan!) Just last week, we sent our Christmas newsletter out. There was an article in there about a family that we helped with 6... children and no income, (South Sea Islanders). Fishers of Men was able to help them with a whole household of furniture, as well as bless them with a bunch of food. In response to our article, one lovely couple decided to donate $800 to the family in need. Below is the dad with the envelope containing the money. He was so excited he cried. Over Christmas, being a casual employee, he was receiving no money to support his family. The $800 was an answer to prayer, and meant he could pay the bills, keeping a roof over their head! See more

06.01.2022 The first photo is actually an arrest photo taken of me just over 2 years ago and the second is a picture of me and my son Samuel taken about 2 weeks ago. In t...he first photo I am hopelessly addicted to methamphetamine (ice) I'm on bail for some violent robberies, drug possessions, stolen cars etc etc, I'd basically been homeless for the last 10 years in and out of jail, burnt every bridge about 8600 times then dropped nuclear bombs on the ashes of those bridges and the decades of drug abuse and criminal activity had given a host of demons free reign over my mind and soul. In the depths of my despair I called out to Jesus not really understanding what I was doing, I didn't know Him, even so, He knew me and He answered my call and He saved me. I'm not special and I'm not out of the ordinary. I have close brothers who have very similar stories. The transformation in all our lives comes from the work of God alone, all the good in us comes from God and the hope we gain and the faith we are given and the drive and determination that follows all comes from God Almighty our Father in heaven and our salvation comes from the infinite sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, by His blood alone are we redeemed, there is no other way. I can't save myself, the only thing that can save ANY of us is our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for that I am eternally thankful. Praise Him, He is worthy of all praise. Ultimately God doesn't tell us to understand Him, He tells us to put our faith in Him. He tells us to trust Him with all our hearts and not to depend on our own understanding. He tells us to seek His will in all that we do and He will show us which path to take (Proverbs 3:5-6). At the start of the year I started a Diploma of Ministry at CHC and it's high calibre. Most of the time it's like "drinking from a fire hose" and I love it, Thankyou Jesus. God equips those He calls, I've stepped out in faith and He has made a way. I put a post up yesterday saying that my birthday is coming up and if you want to get me something then chuck me some cash for Bible college. I don't qualify for the governments fee-help thingy so I needed $3600 for the coming semester and by this afternoon the whole amount has been taken care of, I love you Jesus! Thankyou brothers and sisters who helped and to God be all the glory. I was just saying tonight to my sister that none of us are perfect, but, as a body, with Christ as the head, we are perfect, Christ makes us perfect. If it wasn't for Jesus Christ I would be dead. He has given me every good and every perfect thing in my life and it is a blessing to be able to serve the King of all creation for all of eternity Hallelujah! Thankyou Jesus my Saviour, I love you Christ my Lord. See more

05.01.2022 We would like to say thank you to our local Rochedale & Springwood Community who have been so generous in their support of Fishers of Men. Rochedale & Cr Lisa Bradley - Thank you so much for your kind support!! We are having a Christmas Party for any supporters who wish to attend, to say thankyou & report on some of the things we've achieved this year. 03.01.2022 Nearly 3 years ago I was so exhausted I threw my bag down beside the footpath to use as a pillow while I stretched out on the concrete for some rest. I was out ...of money and drugs food and shelter. After a little while this old bloke walks out of one of the units I was out the front of and says to me: "You can't lay down there" so I get up to move my bag out of the way thinking that he's sick and tired of homeless junkies hanging around the front of his house and fair enough... but then this guy continues to say "this is where I live and I have a couch you can sleep on if you like"...I knew that the last thing this bloke needed was some drug addicted criminal shacking up on his couch but it was such a profound moment in my life that I told him that his offer was the nicest thing I could remember anyone doing for me in a long long time. I did ask him however if he would let me leave a few bags with him for a day or so as I had a lot of "leg work" to do. Over the next few months I would pop in to visit this guy and he would feed me and give me a cold drink and we would chat. One time he even gave me a suit to attend an interview that could have led to some work. (I never got the chance to return the suit) A few times we said a prayer together and he even told me that he had spoken to some sisters in a convent somewhere and they had agreed to join in prayer on my behalf. This was before I knew Christ personally but looking back I can see that my Lord definitely knew me and was personally involved. Thankyou my Lord. Not to long after this I cried out to Jesus and surrendered. I put my faith in Him and He saved me. I have been off the streets, out of jail and with Fishers of men since then. I've always remembered this good samaritan and what he did for me, never asking for anything in return. Over the last couple of years I've wondered if he was still around and considered popping in to see him but I never had. That was until the other night, me and the boys were out on the streets of Brisbane and before I knew it I had pulled up out the front of his house and knocked on his door. His name is FRANCO and I love this bloke. He was so happy to see me happy and healthy. Even more happy to see me redeemed from the kingdom of darkness and delivered into the kingdom of God, he was nearly crying. I introduced him to the boys and told him about what we do with Fishers of men - reaching out to guys doing it tough on the same streets, explaining to them the way of the cross and the redeemimg power of Jesus Christ. We all gave thanks and prayed for Franco. I know that there is a mansion in heaven waiting for Franco. Our Lord King Jesus says that whatever you do to the least of Mine, you do to ME! Franco knew that his kindness and prayers would not be wasted on some looser junkie. Jesus told him so. I thank You my Lord God for men and women like Franco. See more

03.01.2022 Words of Wisdom from Myrna Widlend

02.01.2022 Awesome, we had some challenges working out how to manage social distances and not gathering to feed the homeless, but our awesome team figured out how to do it. Instead of picking people up to bring them back to our house for a feed, we went to a predesignated outside location, had the meals ready, they lined up 1.5m apart, social distancing measures employed, no physical contact made, all things worked well, everyone got a healthy and nutritious meal to takeaway. Disinfect...ant and gloves used, and no one hung around to congregate. thank you to our friends in the city who had everything worked out, (Rob from what was Blind Eye, now Immanuel). The FOM guys then went home, where they were able to have their meal separately and quietly, with no outsiders. Thank you everybody who helped with supplies, and the men from the discipleship house, you guys are awesome. See more

01.01.2022 Samuel wanted to help the Homeless, he put a call out saying it is winter and it is cold and there are people living on the streets with no warm clothes, food a...nd blankets. In Qld 49 people out of every 10,000 are homeless. Last year Samuel helped a wonderful charity called the Fishers of Men. They provide a Christian Community based street van in Logan, meals, blankets, furniture for those exiting the crisis cycle and a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for people in need. In one word they are amazing! With the support, kindness and donations last year you helped him supply over 70 homeless packs, food and clothing and this year with amazing hand knitted blankets, scarfs, beanies, cash for food donations, mens clothes and much more. The photos here speak for themselves, the donations are given directly to the Homeless. The Homeless were fed a warm meal, dessert, warm drinks plus given clothes, blankets and all the donations while sitting around heaters listening to the amazing messages from the Fishers of Men that have transformed lives and helped so many. This year in the photos you will see another very special 10 year old who also did some wonderful fundraising of her own. Samuel's Class mate Bella collected $400 and the rest of his Class with the Coordination of their beautiful Teacher collected other donations which was truly amazing also. Thank you to each and everyone who helped in anyway. We know there are a few extra things coming and we are happy to give to them. As you can see this Charity gives directly, in fact open there own home twice a week for the meals but daily to help. If you would like to help the Fishers of Men in anyway please visit http://fishersofmen.org.au/.

01.01.2022 Fishers of Men Street van Sunday night in the rain. The homeless were taking shelter under bridges and shop awnings. Many received help. We are so grateful f...or our awesome volunteers. Eddie and Jen, who delivered to the families with kids in the Logan area. Luke and Steve, delivering to homeless and others in Logan, and an awesome team of around 7 people delivering food to the homeless in the city. You guys do a great job. Our furniture ministry has kind of halted with the rain this week, but still out there helping the homeless. See more
