24.01.2022 CLIENT SPOTLIGHT 6 Months in to the rest of her life!! Previous to starting with us *Lee had tried many things..... Diets Challenges Weightwatchers All of which got her a result short term, but she could never keep it because either the restrictions were too much, she was always hungry or she had to exercise her life away... She needed to find balance. She needed to find something her whole family could enjoy. She needed to be able to still satisfy her sweet tooth... So that's what we did. We laid out a clear path where she didn't have to restrict all the foods she loved, she didn't have to go hungry and she didn't have to exercise like a mad woman. And the best part.... She's starting to find her self confidence again.. She's starting to fit back into her smaller dress sizes... She's starting to feel healthier, fitter and stronger!!! 24.01.2022 Learning new exercises, being aware of what and how your body moves and developing that mind to muscle connection takes time and many repititions ! In fact did you know if you have been doing a certain exercise for awhile incorrectly and want to correct it, you will have to do that exercise more than a 1000 times just to get rid of the old muscle memory pattern!! What you lift might be important.. But nowhere as important as HOW you lift it!!... Looking good ladies!!



24.01.2022 WHEN LESS = MORE The woman on the left: "I used to train a lot..Up to 6hrs of cardio a week. I was so tired, my body ached at nights and I was always hungry"... The woman on the right: "I now see my body slowly changing. I feel stronger and healthier - My body doesn't ache at nights anymore, I have more energy, and I now get more sleep!! The best thing is that my anxiety doesn't hold me back anymore, and I feel like I have more time for myself and my boys because I'm not always training! I now eat to Live NOT Live to eat." JUST 6 WEEKS OF DOING LESS Only a short time ago Amy thought she needed to exercise "more" and "eat less" to get the body she'd always wanted. You see Amy could run - in fact she ran a number of times a week including an 18km run on the weekends.. but yet she didn't have the body shape that reflected that. Most people would think training for Fitness would come hand in hand with Fat loss... But they don't always and they actually require 2 very different training methods. When training for Fitness - you want your body to be efficient at what it does so that you can conserve more energy to get the job done. It is imperative that you condition your body to what you want it to do - BUT this can also come at a cost - being efficient also means less energy burnt (calories burnt) during this time, and if not careful, it can also become catabolic in nature (using your precious muscle as an energy source). HOWEVER, If Fat loss and changing your body shape is your goal, then your program needs to be designed specifically around the biggest things that will help get you there: Building muscle through a structured weight training program, Addressing your nutritional habits, and Adding a sprinkle of short intense cardio sessions to help keep your body inefficient, whilst helping your preserve your lean mass! The more muscle you have on your body, the more ability you have to burn carbohydrates and fats, and in turn increases your metabolic rate. Once we established Amy's real goal was to change her body shape, we could then design a program that would help get her there. 6 WEEKS IN and Amy is now learning just how little she needs to train and how much more food she needs to eat to fuel her body to get the results she wants!!! Technique is everything, and putting your body into the correct position will determine which muscle groups are targeted, thus leading to increased strength which can help prevent injuries down the track.... 21.01.2022 AGEING & FAT LOSS Did you know that ageing adults can expect to gain 0.5kg of Body fat every year from the age of 30-60yrs of age and lose 0.25kg of muscle mass every year over that same time unless you do something strategic about it! That means a gain of 15kgs of body fat and a loss of 7kg of muscle!!! Research in this area tells us that as we get older, the more important it is for us to engage in muscular strength and endurance activities at least twice/week and to d...o bouts of moderate physical activity 3 times a week. How do you measure up with these recommendations? IF you aren't striving to keep your muscle mass, it will be replaced with FAT! You will have days where all those voices in the back of your head keep saying "I'm too busy", "its not a good time right now", "im not in a good head space", but the truth is there will NEVER be a right time... And there will be times where you might have progress photos that look worse than where you started (hello my 2017), getting injured and forcing you to focus more on nutrition and rehabilitation, change of jobs or changes in your family circumstances where you may have to come up with new daily routines.... BUT without any of these hardships we can never experience true Success! It would be nice to think that our success will be linear, but it seldom never is. Taking the foot off the pedal. Becoming complacent. Thoughts of "I've got this", when in reality they still have much further to go. All of a sudden they're back to where they started. 17.01.2022 With the new year comes the noisiest time of the year for the Fitness & weight-loss industry. Sponsered adds popping up on your social media timeline more regularly offering amazing results in a matter of weeks... Programs and challenges claiming they have the secret Ingredients...... Detoxes, cleanses and fad diets suggesting their way is the best way to lose the most weight in the shortest amount of time... But the truth is..There is no secret ingredient. Results will take longer than weeks and just a few months... In fact I will guarantee it will take longer than you think or would like. But nobody wants to hear that. Instead they are lulled into thinking that their years of bad habits and self sabotage will be fixed immediately by following some sort of generic meal & training plan. However, if you are looking to make 2021 the year you do things differently, here's my top tips for finding the best plan to suit you: 1 If said program and challenge restricts your calories and has you training every day/ or even twice a day, the weight you do lose will come back eventually PLUS interest. This type of plan does not promote balance and will not be sustainable long term. Remember how you take the weight off has to be maintained FOREVER if not improved to keep getting results! 2 If said program cuts out or restricts ANY food groups, you will find yourself craving and bingeing more. This does not create a healthy relationship with food and you will never get off the weight loss roller-coaster. There is a place for everything in your life in moderation (yes even pizza and chocolate!), however you need to learn how to incorporate these foods to have balance so you can still get results. This takes TIME! 3 You pay for what you get. Just because a program is cheap doesn't mean it's good. Chances are the cheaper it is, means the less personalised it will be, and the more likelihood of you quitting due to it not being a "big enough outlay". There has to be some sort of consequence for no follow through. Look for something that is tailored for YOU, something that holds you accountable, and something that has you committed long term. 2020 has taught me many things this year, but the 1 biggest thing it has taught me is how to have resilience in times of adversity, and to keep showing up regardless of how tough things got. What you did to get your first lot of results will have to be improved upon and refined in order to keep getting results-- which is why trying to be perfect is never the answer! ... 12.01.2022 Transforming your life often means going about doing uncomfortable things in order to grow. It challenges you to the very core. Its confronting. It's hard.... It's unlearning habits and things that no longer serve the person you WANT to be. And it's learning that it's OK to make mistakes, as long as you learn from the lesson. Whilst this year has been a little crazy, what hasn't been crazy was the way in which *Lee chose to persevere and adapt to the changing environment. Lee chose to focus on the small amount of things she could control. She focused on eating well to help maintain her health and energy levels, and continued to train using the modified program we gave her using minimal equipment whilst gyms were shut down. 2 x resistance sessions /wk 1-2 x 20min HIT sessions Eating lots of food she enjoys. We bang on about being consistent... And this is where it truely pays off... How much weight did she lose? Wouldnt know - actually don't care! What we do care about though is: Increased strength ( some major lifts by more than 30kg!) No more hip pain Improved body composition (less fat, more muscle) Increased amount of food she now eats Can fit back into her once snug pants with room to move. They are working on all the habits that has led you to where you were in the first instance and slowly replacing them for better ones. It involves hard work. It means being open to feedback. If I was given a dollar for everybody that said that to me, I would be pretty much a millionaire by now The fact is we all have the same amount of hours in a day.... that is a given.. but it's what we do with those hours that makes all the difference!... Question for you.... "Do you have time to be sick/unwell/injured/tired/exhausted or just not feeling good in general?" Because I can guarantee you that if you don't look after 'umero numero' that is exactly what will happen.... it's inevitable! Being sick/unwell takes its toll and not just on your health... - days off work = loss of income - doctors visits & medications - loss of time spent doing things that you actually really want to do to enjoy life! If I told you that it would only take 2-3 hours out of your week to get you the health, vitality and body you wanted would you believe me? In fact I know that's all it takes..... When Lucy came to us, her goals were quite simple.... Get some abs, improve her body composition and to get strong!!... Lucy can now almost squat her own BW, and can deadlift almost 1.5x her BW!!! 05.01.2022 8 months post partum. 6 months since I was given the green light to commence exercise. I could sit here and tell you it was easy.. But the truth is it hasn't.... I struggle with the exact same things most other mums and women struggle with... Tiredness. Time. Putting myself first when I have other little humans to consider. Doing the things I know I need to do, when sometimes all my brain says "fck it". But the best thing of all is... I didn't have to change 1 thing that I was doing before or even during my pregnancy... I didn't amp up my exercise to lose baby weight faster Just 2-3hrs of weight training incl. just 1 x 20min HIT session/wk. I didn't restrict my food choices or cut calories I ate foods to fuel my body AND still indulged in some treats. I didn't try and be perfect! Some weeks I missed training sessions and ate more treats than I probably should have.. 02.01.2022 Shout out to our gal Krystee Muscat who is proving that shift work doesn't have to equal not having the body shape you want!! 6 weeks into the process and she is making awesome progress!!! Increasing the amount of food she eats,... Ensuring she has a structured training plan to follow...and Being accountable to somebody other than herself. Creating the body you want doesn't have to be marathon workouts or restricting all your fave foods, But it does require structure and a support system to help get you there.

The truth is most just want to get to "Z" without having to pass through all the letters after "A". They want to shortcut the process and not focus on the steps that will ultimately get them there, not understanding that by doing this they are just robbing themselves of all the lessons and important bits that are necessary when making permane...nt life long changes. Because even when you get to "Z", you will still need to know how to keep it or better, improve upon it year after year, otherwise it will be lost as fast as you got there. 01.01.2022 Building muscle is no easy feat - especially if you naturally have a lean body type. When Anke first came to us she had been going to the gym most days of the week and she was mindful of what she was eating.. However she still couldn't get the changes she wanted. Fast forward to now:... We have tripled the amount of food she was already eating. Decreased the amount of exercise she was doing to allow her body more rest and recovery (this is where growth actually occurs) Designed a program with the biggest bang for buck. Improved her metabolism to a point where now her body is primed to using the food she eats and channelling it where it needs to go.
