24.01.2022 Did someone say Experiment Time....... Our wonderful Miss Krystal set up our tray in the water park area and filled it with bicarb soda. There were small cups of vinegar around the outside with measuring spoons and some red food dye. Children were encouraged to add some vinegar to the bicarb using the spoons and we excitedly watched how the bubbles appeared! We enjoyed spending time as a group watching the reaction that occurred through adding the vinegar. "Bubble, Bubble... toil and trouble......" #scienceexperiment #fitzfamfun #livingourbestlife

21.01.2022 Fitzgibbons Recycling Warriors Our Kindergarten children have been learning about everything Recycling. Armed with our hats, gloves and garbage bags, our Kindy kids ventured into the bush land with a mission to clean up our community. Whilst the bush lands were relatively clean, we managed to find some hidden rubbish and help our environment by disposing of these the proper way - putting them in the garbage or recycling bins. Way to go Kindy team! ... #Communityexploration #Recycling #Bushtrailadventures

18.01.2022 With NAIDOC Week celebrations being rescheduled for 8-15 November 2020 due to the Coronavirus, we felt that it was important to celebrate NAIDOC Week and acknowledge this week as its traditional time of the year. In many ways NAIDOC means to celebrate the culture, the history and the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Its our time to reflect and connect with culture through dance, singing and through events all around Australia. NAIDOC week is a t...ime for togetherness to share history, tell stories and belonging to Country. Check out Better Together Health Van for a virtual Naidoc Week celebration. The virtual celebration includes a series of films shared during the week with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers and artists. #AlwayswasAlwayswillbe #Naidoc2020 #Togetherness #Celebrate #Reflect #Connect

18.01.2022 The children have been loving the outdoor environment on Mud-Day Friday. Whether it be making mud pies, digging holes or role playing with monster trucks, our outdoor environment is a place where children can create, explore and experiment, independently or together. We have also had some great discussions about safe outdoor practices while playing in the mud. The children understand that they need to be able to self-regulate and assess their bodies if they are feeling cold/ hot or whether they want to get muddy or clean. As educator, we are there to guide there choices and also lend a hand when they need. #mudplay #messyplay #mudfordays

17.01.2022 At Fitzgibbon ELC we wish to let children speak. Let them be heard. Let them make choices and be there to enjoy it with them - Fitzys philosophy Science Experiments and Investigations compliment childrens natural instinct to observe and learn about the world around them. Our little scientists love exploring new concepts and challenging their, always growing, knowledge with new ideas. When children work together on science projects their interactions will increase with conversation. Their conversations will result in cooperative play. Children will begin to talk to each other about their predictions/findings, what they observed, and they will ask questions. #Scientists #Investigate #explore

16.01.2022 Cars! Cars! Cars! A small group of children had some much fun with their cars recently. Imaginations were in overdrive,as the group worked together to build race tracks and big holes. The children were heard communicating, directing and listening to each other with respect. It was great seeing them understand the equality of everyone having an influence in their play. With the help of cars, we hope that the confidence of social interactions, empathy and information processing... helps the children continue to develop upon their areas of identity. #CarPlay #Learning #Kindergarten

15.01.2022 Recently, we decided to have a little experiment where the children could see and make their very own rainbows! In a darkened room, with a jar of water, our CD prism and a torch, the children watched as Mr Aaron created a rainbow upon the wall. The children were amazed to see the rainbow being made, and were confident in sharing their ideas and thoughts on the process happening before them. Each child also got the chance to trace and recreate their very own rainbows with some... coloured pens. A great way to cement their memory with the knowledge of rainbows. #Rainbows #Kindergarten #FitzFam

14.01.2022 Lest We Forget

14.01.2022 Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water; and when the grass of the meadows is wet with dew, let them run on it and trample it with their bare feet;... let them rest peacefully when a tree invites them to sleep beneath its shade; let them shout and laugh when the sun wakes them in the morning. ~ Maria Montessori #Communityexploration #connectingtocountry #natureplay

14.01.2022 VR Solar System With the interest of space emerging across the Kindergarten classroom lately, Mr Aaron decided to provide the children with a very unique activity that really brought space into reality. With a VR headset, the children were able to view the entire solar system in 360 degrees. They were amazed as they placed the goggles over their heads and instantly transported themselves to space. What an awesome experience for our Kindy Children

04.01.2022 Our Nursery crew have been busy exploring Lights. On a dark and gloomy day recently, our little ones had an exciting experience - exploring the dancing lights (70s disco era eat your heart out) Our littlest members of the Fitz Family were able to explore their senses with their light play activity. They even channeled their 70s vibe and held a disco. Grooving along to the music and lights was a showcase piece...but not to be outdone by their absolute infatuation and curious investigation of the lights themselves. "Magic is all around.
