23.01.2022 Hive inspection at our monthly meeting Last sunday the club met for there monthly meeting at a property way up in the hills behind rockhampton we started the afternoon with a short meeting . Agenda items included a discussion on the conditions at the moment being very favorable for the bees with the coming of spring and a great time to split boxes or requeen old queens after a very poor first half of the year. It was mentioned to be on the lookout for hive beetle to put out traps and the various ways to keep on top of the beetle. Steve mentioned that Rebecca Laws from bio security will return to rockhampton in the next couple of months for a refresher course and follow up of her last visit earlier in the year, i will give you more info on that event when the date is finalised. We then donned our bee suits and inspected 3 hives

02.01.2022 AGM review at the annual general meeting on Saturday 11th we elected a new management committee. It looks very much like the last one with Steve Black at the helm as president, Kerry Ruff as our most efficient Secretary and Warren Hinton as our thrifty treasurer. Members indicated that we need to get some practical sessions organised for the coming bee season it was suggested that we get a couple of club hives up and running for new members to work with though the coming spring . I encourage members to use this Facebook page to post and comment on post's in a quest to get some conversation going in between meetings, ask questions ,what's flowering in your location, problems concerning your beekeeping.
