20.01.2022 Following our recent AGM, Five Rivers would like to acknowledge our new committee and thank them all for their commitment to our club for the next 12 months: President Kara Mavin Vice-president Mel Kolus Secretary Courtney Clark... Treasurer Sharon McFie-Entwhistle Umpire convenor Aimee Littleboy Registrar Jenny Dalgleish Coaching coordinator Anne Tihi Uniform convenor Sam Connell Equipment convenor Amanda Andrews COVID safety officer Sam Connell It’s incredibly heartening to see so many new faces willing to step up this year and keep our club moving forward. Kara can be contacted on 0422 466 600, or please reach out to us at any time by emailing [email protected] or messaging us via our Facebook page. A huge thank you to our outgoing president, Trent Balym, for his leadership during this very long and challenging year. Many of you will notice the absence of Jodie Littleboy’s name from this list. After many years of tireless service to our club, Jodie has stepped back from an active role on the Five Rivers committee to focus on her responsibilities as HDNA vice-president. There are no words big enough to express our gratitude for the time, effort and love Jodie and her family have put into our club. Hopefully she knows how much she means to us all. As a Life Member of Five Rivers she’ll still be around when we need to call on her.

Please note: You will need a Driver's Licence, 18+ o...r Medicare Card number to complete the registration When applying online you only need to provide the card number however, you are required to provide evidence of your residential address (for example, a driver licence or utility bill) upon request by an Emergency Officer at the border checkpoint. Passes are valid for 7 days. _____________________________________________________________ This post has been updated to reflect the changes made to the included border zone this evening. Postcode 2483 has been removed and at this stage I'm not sure what that will mean for some of our Tweed Shire communities. I will update this post as the information is made available. The situation is ever changing Residents in the Tweed Shire will be eligible to receive an X-PASS. This will allow them to travel to QLD for any purpose provided they remain WITHIN THE BORDER ZONE. Residents with X-PASSES WON'T BE ALLOWED to travel outside of the border zone. There will be a small number of special exemptions allowed and these will need to be applied for separately. For a full list of included postcodes please see photo. Still unsure? Need to speak to someone? Please see photo for contact details. Specific questions are answered here: https://www.qld.gov.au//public-health-/border-restrictions To view the direction in its entirety: https://bit.ly/31pGzGF A border zone resident is someone who lives in a community on the Queensland New South Wales border. See the map below. This includes both sides of the border people who live in Queensland but work or go to school in their neighbouring border town, or people who live in New South Wales but come to work or school in their neighbouring border town in Queensland. Border zone residents can cross the border for any purpose. Queensland border zone residents cannot travel outside the border zone in New South Wales and New South Wales border zone residents cannot travel outside the border zone in either Queensland or New South Wales . Queensland Government - Direction Border Restrictions Direction (No. 11) The border zone is the geographical area comprising the border communities within New South Wales and Queensland within the postcodes listed in Schedule 3 and represented visually on the Public Health Direction (COVID-19 Border Restrictions) Map approved by the CHO and published on the Queensland Health website. 04.01.2022 Grading Can Sound Scary but it shouldn’t! Five Rivers, like many medium to large netball clubs, has a grading policy whereby players from u11s and up are graded into teams each season based on their ability and skill level. This recognises that as a club we have players with a variety of motives to play netball and a range of abilities (including skill level, fitness, attitude and commitment). The primary focus of grading is to give all players a chance to play in a team whi...ch will allow them to develop as a player and reach their full potential. Allowing players to play with others of similar ability levels assists with their skill development and ensures they are competitive for their grade. We have found grading ensures a competitive and enjoyable season and maximum game time for all players. If you or your child have any concerns around grading, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our committee members to discuss. Yours in netball Five Rivers Netball Club Inc
