20.01.2022 Following postponements due to Covid, The Fivex Foundation is extremely delighted to launch the inaugural Fivex Art Prize: Billboard Art Reimagined on Monday 14 December 2020. Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp will announce the First Prize winner and present awards to all the finalists. Artworks will be showcased on the iconic QMS digital billboards, corner Flinders and Elizabeth streets, until 31 January 2021. The Prize launch coincides with another Fivex Foundation initiative: pulse, by artist Gary Deirmendjian, commissioned for Melbourne’s Federation Square, showing most nights until 31 January 2021. 16.01.2022 The inaugural Fivex Art Prize: Billboard Art Reimagined has been presented by the Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp. The Fivex Foundation congratulates First Prize recipients of the inaugural Fivex Art Prize: Catherine Clover for Song Cycle, and Daniel Kotsimbos for Peak Frequency. The Fivex Foundation also congratulates the four finalists: Magdalene Carmen, Phi Do, Deborah Kelly, and Kent Morris. ... Thanks also to all the other artists who entered the Fivex Art Prize 2020. All six of the selected works will be individually exhibited daily on the ionic QMS billboards, interspersed among commercial advertising content, until 31 January 2021. The works will also be presented collectively, in one-hour group screenings without advertising, at 12pm1pm on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December (and similar weekend schedule thereafter until the end of the exhibition).
