23.01.2022 With the 6ft long Sensor Medica pressure mat, we can meausure foot pressure as people walk showing a lot of information which would be missed with simple, visual gait analysis This is the footprints of a child who presented for assessment of an Intoeing gait. With the pressure mat we can assess the angle of gait precisely and check the effectiveness of treatment. If no treatment is deemed as the best course of action, we can compare from year to year to assess improvement with time.

15.01.2022 Strokes can lead to disability affecting ones ability to walk or perform normal activities of daily living. At Fix Podiatry, we can assist in lower limb rehabilitation and walking after a stroke. Former Gold Medal winner and 200m world record holder, Michael Johnson, opens up in this interview about his recovery after a stroke. Hes an inspiration on and off the track. Some Facts from the Stroke Foundation:... 1. Stroke is one of Australias biggest killers and a leading cause of disability 2.In 2017, there was the equivalent of one stroke every 9 minutes. 3. Around 30% of stroke survivors are of working age (under the age of 65) 4. 65% of stroke survivors suffer a disability which impedes their ability to carry out daily living activities unassisted 5. The FAST test is an easy way to recognise and remember the signs of stroke. Using the FAST test involves asking these simple questions: Face Check their face. Has their mouth drooped? Arms Can they lift both arms? Speech Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you? Time Time is critical. If you see any of these signs, call 000 straight away. #stroke #rehabilitation
