My name is Stevie, and I am a qualified personal trainer I work with face to face clients out of Goodlife Health Clubs in Cleveland (Redlands, Brisbane based) and I am also an Online Coach. 22.01.2022 Originally I was going to write how much I miss travelling overseas, but I got writing and this is what I came up with instead.. This year I have felt so overwhelmed with everything that has happened, just like so many others have too. It has been the worst year for some and the best year for others. I was speaking with a friend the other day and we realised that the reason we felt so overwhelmed was because life is so short and it feels like this year has been a ‘waste’.... But I’ve realised that’s because we were focusing on the negatives. Ensuring you focus on the positives in life helps you to appreciate the good things for what they are. - This year we bought a boat which was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made because we’ve been able to go on so many exciting adventures (especially during COVID), I was able to spend quality time with my dog Zeke before he passed away, I got to go on a months road trip with the love of my life and our sweet little girl Zara which made us learn SO much about us and what we want in life, my TRL team won our first State Championships, I made the Australian & Queensland team for TRL, FLAIR released its first home program & booty bands, I’ve helped change the lives of so many in my first 8 Week challenge at the beginning of the year and am currently doing my second 8 week challenge (with the most amount of challengers so far) and I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone so many times (e.g. first photoshoot, starting our youtube channel, meeting new people, first video-shoot, guest speaker at a school) and realised that there’s more to life than being ‘comfortable’. A friend of mine told me her life motto, ‘finding comfort in discomfort’ and I love it so much. And there’s still 2.5 months to go of the year so I’m excited for it will bring - So when you look back over the year of 2020, try not to focus too much on the negatives and instead, look at what you have achieved, no matter how big or small. As I look back at the year 2020, I will not think of all the ‘bad things’ that happened to me.. and instead I will find comfort in knowing how lucky I am to be alive and all the good things that have happened. 21.01.2022 Good morning and happy Thursday It’s been 4 years since I started my own business Flair Health and Fitness and I am so proud of how far I’ve come. If I can say one thing to anyone out there trying to decide what they want to do in life or even thinking about starting their own business.. don’t. give. up! Too many people give up so easy because it’s too hard. It’s hard first starting out, doesn’t mean you just stop trying. Life is going to throw you hurdles no matter what ...you do in life, it’s up to YOU how you handle them. And life throws the most hurdles at the ones who can handle it! I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 4 years and I absolutely love it, even more so than when I first started. 19.01.2022 HOW TO SET UP FOR BARBELL HIP THRUSTS . I know so many of you are afraid to do hip thrusts because you aren’t sure how to. So I’m here to show you how! Key points ... roll the bar over your legs to your hips bend your knees and bring your closer towards you dig your elbows into the box/bench and lift the bar up with your hips bring your feet closer (parallel - ankles in line with your knees) ensure the middle of your back is comfortable on the bench/box tuck your chin and look forward (don’t swing your head back or lay on the box) when you have your feet and back in the correct position, you may begin to thrust! don’t overextend your back (make sure you thrust so your hips are in line with your knees) squeeze the glutes as hard as you can at the top of the thrust once finished the last rep - lower back to the floor and roll the bar back over your legs HAPPY THRUSTING! 16.01.2022 This is us at Rainbow Beach a few days ago, then we stayed at Hervey Bay and now we are currently driving to 1770/Agnes Waters. I’ve never been there before so I’m very excited! 10/10 loving van life, takes a couple of days to get used to and then it becomes second nature 1770 will be our last chance for a surf so fingers crossed Not so excited to be heading towards crocodile territory after that Zara won’t be happy! If anyone can comment and let us know any great places we can head up north that Zara can swim with no crocodiles, I’d greatly appreciate! But otherwise, here we come 1770!

16.01.2022 Exploring Cooktown today! Lovely little town, lots of history, delicious seafood and bloody hot weather Caught myself a Mangrove Jack today and still haven’t seen a croc. But still just under 2 weeks to go of the trip, so only time will tell! We are starting the return trip back home tomorrow. Going to be checking out the Atherton Tablelands first, very excited

15.01.2022 This transformation is a little different to most that you see. In the left photo @olivia_f28 is 47kg, underweight and unhealthy. In the right photo she’s now 56kg and stronger and healthier than ever. Since starting weight training 5-6 days per week and eating proper nutritious meals, Olivia has gained almost 10kg! She’s been doing my online coaching and currently doing my 8 week INSPIRE challenge. She is absolutely smashing PB’s and I’m so proud of her. Olivia is so much happier, stronger, and healthier! 13.01.2022 Barbell Back Squat After the gyms shut this year, like most people, it was hard to get myself motivated to train from home. My main focus was just trying to discipline myself to train 3 times per week (to stay relatively ‘in shape’ physically but also to give myself a mental recharge too). Without heavier weights from the gym during that period, my ankle range of motion decreased and I when gyms reopened, I struggled to squat more than 40kg without pain and discomfort in t...he right ankle - the heavier I tried, the less depth I could achieve without feeling like my ankle was going to collapse. - Over the last few months I’ve been training hard and focusing on strengthening my ankle and today I managed to squat 90kg for 6 reps So I’m pretty happy with that and my goal over the next few weeks is to hit the 100kg club again So happy with my depth and progress! 10.01.2022 *Zara’s like mum stop taking selfies and let’s go for walkies* I just wanted to jump on here and say.. no amount of negative things that happen in your life will ever outweigh the positives. Take a deep breath, quit focusing on the negatives and try and focus on what you do have or what should be grateful for. If you’re feeling a little down at the moment, at some point today, you should take the time to make note of what you are grateful for. These positives will ALWAY...S outweigh the negatives. Nothing lasts forever. - As humans we live as if we know there will be a tomorrow and unfortunately that’s not always the case. You shouldn’t assume there will always be another day. So when you wake up today, be grateful you are alive and don’t take for granted this wonderful life you’ve been privileged to live. 04.01.2022 Ok it’s definitely been way too long since we’ve all been overseas now Take me back to my favourite place in the world, Samoa Cannot wait until we can all start planning our first overseas trip again! How beautiful is the water - On another note, I just wanted to say something completely random to this photo so on a serious note.. - If you want to get somewhere in life, you HAVE to work HARD for it. If you have dreams or goals to reach, stop sitting around waiting fo...r them to happen. Get off your bottom, put your big boy/girl pants on and start working towards those goals. Even if it takes a year to get there, or 4 years to get there, if you don’t start NOW, then this time next year, you’ll still be in the same place you are now. So quit worrying what everyone else is thinking, because you’re running your own race. 01.01.2022 FLASHBACK Ok so this photo was the 1st of May 2017 (almost 3.5 years ago) - my first day as a qualified personal trainer at @goodlifecleveland I literally got back from a trip to Bali that morning (hence the suitcase) and headed to Goodlife that afternoon for my first and only client @roxybelford (do you remember ) - Look at me - so excited and nervous! I remember feeling sooo scared. I had finished my course, completed my work experience hours and I remember feeling s...o nervous to start. All the thoughts running through my head.. ‘What if I make a mistake’, ‘what if I don’t know what I’m doing’ , ‘what if my training doesn’t even work’ , ‘what if I don’t even get clients and can’t afford rent’ - Back in 2016 I was finishing up my 4th year at uni (business/marketing/event management) and didn’t know what I wanted to do after.. and decided to study my cert 3 & 4 in fitness Fast forward almost 3.5 years and I am SO glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone and did what I wanted to do! Since then I have accomplished so much, I have made so many friends and changed so many peoples lives. I have reached so many goals and helped my clients reach their goals. I have never stopped learning and growing. - My business has come a very long way since the first day I became a personal trainer and I can honestly say I love my job, I love helping people change their lives and I have learnt so much doing so. One thing I believe is that the best coaches never stop learning, they never settle for less, they continue to develop their skills and are always trying to better themselves. - - If you still reading and you are to take one thing from this.. let it be this. If there is something you want to do but are too scared (because of failure or judgement) - let this be a sign to do it! Believe in yourself. Step out of your comfort zone; if you stay in your safety bubble, you will never grow. Remember that everyone starts somewhere. All you need to do is take that first step and work on your dreams every day Turn those dreams into reality!
