25.01.2022 Attractive price for Aussies, yes, but imagine how attractive it is for Americans - about US$437 return to holiday in Oz where their dollar goes a long way! Hopefully we will see more inbound than outbound with this sale. Qantas offering similar deals too.

23.01.2022 A win for the underdog.

22.01.2022 The word for the day is hypnagogia. The topic is creativity. And the pop culture reference of the day (apart from Luke Skywalker) is the flux capacitor in Doc Emmett Brown’s time machine in Back To The Future. See how all this comes together to generate great ideas.... https://www.flatcat.com.au/tips/luke-use-the-flux/

21.01.2022 New research has "revealed"??? It's not anything 100% of the population didn't already know. However ... (soapbox time) ... A lot of advertising may be designed to manipulate people's thinking - but it can't hold a gun to anyone's head! Maybe we need a good advertising campaign teaching personal responsibility. There's a million health food businesses out there. Have at it.

20.01.2022 To cookie or not to cookie? That is the question that has Google between a rock and a hard place. The tech giant is reported to be considering ditching third party cookies from its Chrome browser. They wouldn't be the first to do it (Safari and Firefox have already gone down that path). But the consequences of hurting advertisers could have massive consequences for Google. On the other hand, the push is coming from users wanting more privacy so Google will be damned if they do and shunned if they don't. Without the benefit of third party cookies to track movements around the web, advertisers will have to rewrite much of their strategy.

20.01.2022 It's hard to tell if this is really clever marketing from Target or just a funny video.

18.01.2022 It's never been more important to understand and harness the creative process. Creative industries, including advertising and marketing, are the fastest growing of any sector and, increasingly, the most successful businesses and the most creative. https://www.campaignlive.co.uk//year-ahead-creativ/1669203

16.01.2022 Creativity is still the most important soft skill coming into 2020, according to LinkedIn. Creativity in the marketing world is the difference between spending money and getting results.

15.01.2022 Only one director could make the movie: Covid 19

13.01.2022 One forecast for 2020 is a trend toward clients taking back control of their marketing. The trend is driven by big data, an increased need for transparency and, more importantly, the need for speed and flexibility in the moving feast that is the online and social world. That's why our major focus for the coming years is on our "In-house marketing guru" program, giving clients control while combining high-end marketing expertise with low cost.

10.01.2022 Aussie tourism ads - cringeworthy or just controversial? The latest with Kylie (and Adam Hills) is a little of both. https://youtu.be/QMAq8F8N2Fg

09.01.2022 How rough will your 2020 get? Bushfires and coronavirus will have wide-reaching impacts on business. So now is the time to heed the words of John Williamson about "making room for stronger trees". https://www.flatcat.com.au//creative-marketing-key-to-sur/

08.01.2022 Advertising made Santa fat. It wasn't all the cookies left out for Santa in every house that made him pack on the pounds. In fact, marketing created much of what we know as Christmas today. https://www.flatcat.com.au/mar/marketing-built-on-a-belief/

08.01.2022 Proving once again that any publicity is good publicity.

07.01.2022 And we thought TV spots were expensive in Australia! This is what a mind-bogglingly big budget brings in creative and coverage in America. Worth it?

07.01.2022 There's an important side story to the New Year Bushfires and that's the impact on the workplace as people head back to work for 2020. Leaders need to be aware that workers, instead of having their usual relaxing break, have been bombarded with non-stop coverage of devastation, sadness and grief. Workplace wellness and leadership expert Linda Ray, the CEO and Founder of NeuroCapability offered some great advice when we caught up with her last week.... 05.01.2022 Having difficulty maintaining a connection? Is there a pill for that? We've now been in iso long enough to appreciate the value of connections. If we have to work from home, we have to develop new ways to maintain connections - probably not a pill.

05.01.2022 BAN THE BILLBOARD? Good idea or bad? The new Green mayor of Greenoble, a French town about the size of Townsville, cancelled a contract for 326 outdoor advertisements (billboards) in the city, aiming to make the town ad-free. A French group called RAP (Resistance to Advertising Aggression) is trying to do the same across the country.... https://www.equaltimes.org/the-growing-global-movement-to-e

04.01.2022 Hand writing carries so much more weight with the mind than typing and clicking. No surprise even young people still use paper diaries and planners. https://news.yahoo.com/fans-hold-paper-planners-citing-1557
