12.01.2022 ~ Photographing Ritual ~ One of my most treasured aspects of being a photographer and a witch is having opportunities to photograph rituals and magical workings. Across the past decade, I've witnessed and participated in rituals that range from close-and-intimate coven moments, to large ecstatic group rituals, to personal love-spells and acts of devotion, markings of the turning of the wheel, markings of initiation in one's life. Some of those rituals I've had the privilege ...of photographing. Whenever I am in ritual space with my camera, I hold some values close to my heart which I adopt into my practices; observing in respect of the magic and ritualists, calling in the grace of Hermes' winged feet, to traverse the edges of the circle (and worlds) and capture imagery without being intrusive or obstructive to the ritual intention. I'm more of a participant in the ritual than I am an observer. I believe this is the key to respectful ritual photography. I've written a little bit more on this topic in my blog linked below, I invite you to check it out, and leave a comment on the blog if you're interested in sharing your perspective, or hearing more about my process. If you have a ritual, magical working, or ceremony of your own that you'd like photographed, please do get in touch! I'd love to work with you! https://www.fleetfootphotography.com//5/photographing-ritu A A

01.01.2022 If you haven't heard of Antipodean Arts Podcast, you're missing out! It's an excellent podcast created by two incredible local witches Brodie-Ann and Fio (Gede Parma). For the 13th episode, I was invited as a guest along with the incomparable Jarrah Staggard; chatting all things Beltane, Faery Parades, WildWood, and the delicious queer threads of witchcraft that run through our artistic and personal practices. You can listen to the latest episode by following this link, or search for it on Spotify and add it to your favourites list! A new episode every fortnight :D
