24.01.2022 As a small private studio we don’t have large gatherings of people but we’re still completely committed to playing our part in slowing down the spread of COVID and protecting the most vulnerable members of our community. We’ve always maintained a clean and hygienic training environment but we’ll now be increasing our efforts. In addition to practicing proper personal hygiene, our coaches will be wiping down equipment before, during and after each client. We’ll also be maintai...ning a respectable distance of 1 metre between each other. We ask that all clients wash their hands before and after training and use their own personal towel to dry their hands. We also ask that clients use a towel on benches and equipment and try not to touch your face with your hands. If you have travelled from overseas please refrain from visiting the studio for two weeks after the date of your arrival back in to the country. Exercise is important to good physical and mental health. Until we’re advised otherwise by our medical professionals, we’ll continue to be here to support your health through strength training.

24.01.2022 The benefits of strength training go far beyond the addition of lean muscle tissue. The mental health benefits alone should be reason enough to begin training. In conclusion, training for physical strength is important for enhanced brain strength, and has been shown to treat depression and improve cognitive function. Those who had the highest strength gains experienced the highest improvements in their mood issues. Strength gains also improved cognitive performance. Therefore, strength training should be another tool used in the treatment and prevention of psychiatric issues.

21.01.2022 Exercise is so important for both our physical and mental health. If you’re feeling well, haven’t been overseas or in contact with someone who has COVID-19 there’s no reason you can’t continue strength training, provided you follow the good hygiene recommendations. You won’t find crowds or filthy equipment at our studio. What you will find is a coach ready and willing to support your good health through strength training.

21.01.2022 Proud coach and happy client moment! What an achievement this is for Kate. Just 12 months ago Kate struggled to squat an empty bar. 1 year on and it’s 85kg for 3 solid reps. This result was achieved in just one session per week - impressive stuff. Consistency and hard work pays off. Terrific work Kate. #flemingtonstrengthstudio #boxsquats #strongerthanlastweek #proudcoach #strengthcoach

19.01.2022 Super effort from Jack this morning as he hit a long term goal of a 100kg bench press. Previous training had left Jack with an unstable shoulder so lots of prep work went in to getting Jack to a point where he could safely execute this lift. Bench press is almost synonymous with shoulder injury as it’s often poorly executed and poorly programmed. Performed correctly the bench press is not only safe but also arguably the best lift for improving upper body strength. Awesome work Jack.

18.01.2022 We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again, Strength training is not just for the young and fit. Strength training is for everyone. Jenny has been training with us for just five weeks and has already developed solid technique in one of the most important movements that can be performed - the deadlift.... This lift develops strength everywhere, it’ll make you stronger in places you didn’t even know you had. When performed correctly the deadlift is safe, effective and appropriate for almost everybody - a lift well worth investing the time to learn.

13.01.2022 Thank you and be kind!

06.01.2022 We’re very happy to be able to offer Yoga classes once again. Yoga complements strength training by improving range of motion, body awareness and joint stability. Yoga is also great for active recovery between training sessions. At $50 for 5 weeks, this beginners course is great value. Register your interest by commenting below, by DM or by letting your coach know. You don’t have to be a current client to take the course, it’s open to all.

05.01.2022 With such a large number of clientele aged in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s - we hear this often. They say it’s never too late to start getting fit. At 62 years of age, I say, you can amaze yourself. Our clients amaze themselves, and us, on a regular basis. Getting older need not equate to getting weaker. ... https://www.thejournal.ie//elderly-woman-weightlifting-49/

02.01.2022 I am immensely proud of the resilience of the FSS community right now. Many of our clients are in the high risk category but they refuse to lay down. We can’t operate from the studio currently due to the Government shut down but we can still help people stay strong. We’ve given our equipment out to our clients so they can train at home. We’ll be using technology to coach remotely. We will do what we always do, support your health through strength. ... If you’re at home and want to train under the guidance of a coach we will help. DM for details. See more
