25.01.2022 *UPDATE* I wrote too soon! New Telehealth provisions were passed last night (29.03.20) which opens up Telehealth consultations to ALL clients without restriction. Therefore, if you wish to remain at home but still have your consultation, your therapist can be in contact with you via telephone or videoconferencing. If you wish to still attend our offices for face-to-face consults you are still able to, as long as you are well or not at risk. ... Please note: FPS remains OPEN as we are an essential service. The previously posted information regarding COVID-19 still stands and telephone or video conferencing is still only available for clients that fit the criteria (as outlined in the last post). We are hoping that Medicare will relax this criteria in the coming weeks and our psychologists may be allowed to work from home (and can consult with you remotely). Any clients concerned for their physical welfare or who are displaying signs of ill health are advised to reschedule their appointment and not attend. Our staff are still at work and still seeing clients face-to-face; just at a further distance now. Stay safe all of you. From all of us at Fleurieu Psychology Services.

15.01.2022 Fantastic initiative.

13.01.2022 **COVID-19. OUR RESPONSE** Fleurieu Psychology Services are still open for business but now have some distance counselling options available for clients considered vulnerable/isolated. As of Friday 13th, the Australian government have made provisions for distance counselling via video or telephone conferencing for vulnerable/isolated clients. To qualify, at least one of the following applies:... a) the person has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus but is not a patient of a hospital; or b) the person has been required to self-isolate in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC); or c) the person is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is: i) at least 70 years old; or ii) at least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or iii) is pregnant; or iv) is a parent of a child under 12 months; or v) is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised; or d) the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection. If you fall into one of these categories, please contact us and we will arrange for your consultation to be conducted via video (eg. Skype, WhatsApp, Messenger) or phone link. If your psychologist requires self-isolation themselves, we will also offer counselling by these methods rather than cancel. For those clients still attending our practice in person, please be assured that we are exercising all reasonable means to minimise your risk of transmission through the implementation of sensible and recommended health measures. Take care and stay well. From the team at Fleurieu Psychology Services.

12.01.2022 It is a little long-ish but has a huge amount of really practical information in it on how to talk to our kids about COVID-19 and their fears and questions around it. It is also helpful in keeping us adults calm for the sake of our kids’ and our own mental health. Stay safe.

11.01.2022 We couldn’t agree more. Please do take care if you are hurting. Christmas isn’t all that it is meant to be for many people and it can be an extraordinarily hard time for some. We sincerely hope that you don’t feel alone.
