24.01.2022 TIMETABLE/ROUTINE and MORE! It has come to our attention by the Education Minister and Premier that the school term, Term 2 will be conducted in a 'remote and flexible' learning mode. This means students who can learn from home must learn at home, although, there are exceptions in place. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN and HOW? ... The 'remote and flexible' learning from home simply means completing school tasks set our clearly by your child's teacher in the comfort of your home! The school will actively communicate with you leading up to the term and within the first few weeks about how this might look. This transition is new for everyone, therefore I will highlight, be patient and considerate. REMEMBER you will be supported along the way with how and when you will receive learning materials and feedback, a communication / schedule or calendar that shows what is expected of students in relation to the completion of learning tasks, how and when to submit work etc. ROUTINE/TIMETABLE When the Term 2 starts, put in place a timetable to follow as it is important to establish a daily routine. (this could change at your end little each day, so be flexible, it's OK) Include a 10-15 minute 'movement' breaks every hour or so. This could mean your child/ren goes out for a jump on the trampoline, skip, ride, goes for a walk etc. Just MOVE! Include the necessary morning & arvo tea break, and lunch break. The daily learning task could finish earlier than expected so embrace it. Your child is always learning in other ways. Ie. cooking, stacking wood, vacuuming Remote and Flexible learning is FUN. I know first hand from a parent and teacher's perspective. Enjoy watching and supporting your child/ren learn from home, and engage with them when necessary. These are golden moments and memories to look back on. Take photos of their learning and share it with your family and friends. Inspire and be inspired! PLEASE remember, EVERYONE is learning this new norm and we are ALL in this TOGETHER. **Keep in mind to create a learning-space that is comfortable, fun, inviting and equipped with the necessary stationary. #weareallinthistogether #stayhome #socialdistancing

06.01.2022 IS IT TIME YET? Flexible Learning Online aims to share and support individual households through the transition to 'remote learning' and to better understand how the functionality of how 'remote learning' may look. Over the next few weeks I will start to assist you with how to better prepare yourself for Term 2 and beyond. ... Remember you are not alone. You have your school, family and friends to support you and your child/ren along the way. AND you have me! LEARNING SPACE: If you can start to think about or set up a 'learning space' somewhere in your home where your child/ren can work independently and with support. Families with more than one child may need separate areas in the home. This could be in the lounge room, kitchen table/bench, bedroom, dining room or even outside under the verandah! You could even have different areas depending upon your living environment, and that's OK too. (*you could even timetable when the 'learning-space' is used whilst the other child is completing another task. Ie. reading) Flexible Learning is about adapting to any changes that may arise. Developing a routine / timetable is essential for everyone. I will touch on this subject in the next coming days. Once you find the SPACE in the home, you could start to set up your 'learning space' with your child/ren's stationary. A 'book-box' to store your school books will help you to organise and manage the area. GET CREATIVE and make your own book-box from a cereal box like the one below! (you don't necessarily need to go out and start buying a range of stationary!!). Ensure to have pencils / pens / ruler / calculator (pencil case) note pad, diary (optional) and any other specifics that you need handy. REMEMBER to create a learning-space that is comfortable, fun, inviting and equipped with the necessary stationary. #shareyourbookbox #stayhome #socialdistancing
