03.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION*** If you are unsure of your operational capacity during Victoria’s stage 3 & 4 lockdowns, please read: Reference: Business Victoria Covid Helpline answer immediately: 13 22 15... Transaction ID; 126750 General guidance given: For information on work go to Business Victoria For information on Permitted Premises & PPE go to DHHS website. Stage 3 Restrictions Carpet Layers can install carpet even when people are present so long as PPE and Social Distancing Requirements are adhered to. Both the business and the work site have to be in Stage 3 Restriction areas. Stage 4 Restrictions https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//Permitted%20Work%20Premises%2 Work is allowed in the Construction sector. Only work in Vacant, non-occupied sites can occur. Critical work due to an Emergency/Safety issue can occur. I was told that there can be no renovations i.e. in occupied property. BUT then it was established that Carpet Layers, Floor Installers and Floor Layers are considered to be Specialist contractors. See: https://www.business.vic.gov.au//construction-sector-guida Specialist contractors in Stage 4 are allowed to work in occupied property. The site restrictions still apply: one site/day, 3 sites/week. A workers permit, PPE and Socia Distancing are required. PPE face mask manditory for all trades (no specification on type of face mask given) Enhanced PPE is specific for the industry, however carpet removal could be considered similar to the cleaning industry. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/personal-protective-equipment-p Manufacturing allowed based on the Industry: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//Permitted%20Work%20Premises%2 Manufacturing of Building supplies to support construction such as Polymer manufacturing (RLA) , fabricated metal products (BBS) are on the list of Permitted work premises. Need to create a CovidSAFE Plan: based on number of employees i.e. >5 employees. Construction is deemed a high risk industry: (including warehousing and distribution) needs a High Risk CovidSAFE Plan and meet other requirements depending on various criteria, type of site, size of site etc: https://www.business.vic.gov.au//creating-a-covid-safe-wor Thank you.
