25.01.2022 What is your happy place? The ocean is mine, my first wetsuit free dip in the sea searching for all the marine life yesterday. Why the ocean?... - It makes me feel alive - I feel the adrenaline from fish spotting - The salt water on my skin, free sinus flush, great for health - I feel grateful for where I live every time - I'm not just mum when I'm in the sea, I'm me - Helps my energy levels, and I'm prepared for what ever is thrown my way - It gives me something to talk about that lights me up Where do you go or what do you do to reinvigorate your soul?

24.01.2022 Are you a leader, a colleague, parent or friend to someone? Take a moment to see the difference a little bit of praise or how a line of encouragement can give you more sustainable results. Linking the way we are living, feeling isolated with no office banter or fleeting compliments in the office.... It's never been more important to let people know we see all they are doing for the business, in our families and our friendship circles #praisenotencouragement #givingcompliments #enlightenpeoplesday #sustainableresults #engagedemployees

24.01.2022 Some Saturday morning inspiration. Having three males in my home life I feel these stereotypes are real. A lot of their narrative is from what they are exposed to, the way we talking to them, ingraining their beliefs and shaping how they see they see the world. ... Men too are having challenges, they are feeling the load of expectations to be strong, not great at calling their mates and asking for support and help in a time of need. How men don’t want to feel shame and be seen as weak or vulnerable. It’s important that men do learn that it’s ok to speak up, listen to all the people around them, have courage to ask for help and they don’t always have to be seen as strong. I especially love his last moment when he shares about taking away raising boys and girls, although ‘raising good humans’. Small steps can change the world.

23.01.2022 I love everything about Womens Agenda, even more so now Im in it!

23.01.2022 How much do you really know your friends? You see, I love learning something new with every interaction I have. I was so wonderfully surprised at a Kitchen Tea Party with a group of friends when we started pass the parcel. One went to grab the music, another pondered who was going to win the final prize and all the unwrapping in between. ... Nope, it wasnt your average pass the parcel. No music needed, as one of our group had put so much time and planning into thinking about every person in the room and tailored a question to make us think about who could that be and we all learnt something new about each other from her personal touch. I absolutely loved this and it created a space full of laughter, connection, tips for the bride to be and enriched our relationships even more. It made me think how many of our friendship circles are at the surface level? Next time you have an interaction with a friend, instead of assuming you know about their life, dig a little bit deeper, probe a little more with some fun and thoughtful questions to get to know them.

23.01.2022 Could you do it? Probably yes. Do you really want to do it? Not really. Are you feeling exhausted, tired and overwhelmed? ... Then I encourage you to take some ownership of your time, energy and resources and simply say, No! Its up to you to nurture yourself with some self-care from time to time. Next time your feeling any of the above. Use that power word No to reclaim some of your precious time back. It will make a huge difference in your productivity and the end result.

22.01.2022 As we lead to the wrap up of International Women’s Day we reflect on all those times when we wish we stood up for ourselves a little more. Choose the time and challenge the norms in people’s behaviours. How many times have you walked away from conflict, inappropriate behaviour or untoward comments thrown your way or to others around you? ... Take a moment, perhaps a deep breath and consider how you could respond. Standing up and making the choice to challenge people’s behaviour takes courage. If it doesn’t sit right with you, it probably doesn’t sit right with others around you. Have the courage and bravery to make a difference in this world. We may not always get the outcome we wish for in the moment, although consider you have planted a seed in someone’s mind on how they act. #internationalwomensday2021 #IWD2021 #ChooseToChallenge #choosetochallenge2021

22.01.2022 How do you manage the school holidays whilst working from home with kids? Planning activities for the kids whilst working can be a juggle. After having a conversation with a Guest Speaker this morning about how we have had to make things work, it has also heightened my thinking to tomorrow’s 3 hours workshop I’m hosting for those joining with kids. ... For me, I’ve travelled two hours away to my mum’s so she can take them fishing and to golf with hubby so I can focus on hosting the Springboard zoom session. Nothing like taking a few tools away with you for easy of communication and connection How are you making the juggle work? #thejuggleisreal #hostingzoom #schoolholidayplanning #workshoptime

22.01.2022 Why should the kids have all the fun Mumma’s race in the rain. Let’s show them we too can have a blast in the rain ... Brought so much joy to ourselves and the kids seeing us be silly with them. Feeling happy to enjoy the outdoors raining or sunshine.

18.01.2022 So much learning to be had running your own business and working for an organisation in the way we are living currently. Today, my brain is frazzled. Albeit, its great to get out of your comfort zone and try new things constantly. I had to ask my hubby to walk away before he copped the brunt of my explosion ... Bless him, he tried to help by staring at me and processing what my concerns were. I knew he couldnt assist as we speak a different language when it comes to business stuff. Therefore I politely said to him. I get your trying to help me, although Im about to explode, therefore I suggest you scurry back to your office before you get the brunt of it as I dont want to take it out on you. Assertive?! I warned him in a clear, calm and honest way Or I could have taken a deep breathe and brought my amygdala back to earth before I responded. He was only trying to help. Life is challenging. We will all get there. Not without some hurdles first. Stay strong and know when you need a break. As simple as a walk, change the setting your in, make a cuppa and be mindful. Bring yourself back to the present. Weigh up the options, is it worth it? Are you putting too much pressure on yourself to get things to your perfect? Or is ok good enough for now?

18.01.2022 A sunrise through the clouds. I will admit I wanted a sleep in this morning, although my friend kept me accountable to get up and run earlier than I wanted and I was pleasantly welcomed to this view. Bliss What do you do to keep your goals moving forward? ... Instilling a buddy to drive you when your tired, push you when you want to give up or be there for you through the tough times can help drive you forward. Who could you ask to champion you? Thank you Merrianne for always being there, love our morning run & chat time

17.01.2022 Take a selfie they said What an experience these women of the Department of Education have been on over the last eight months. After spending four months on the Springboard Women’s Development Program’s virtual series every other week for three hours at a time, we reconnected to sustain the results last week. ... Reflection was key to instil the confidence they have gained, I was astounded to hear of all their behaviour changes, the power of prioritising their lives and not over committing. Reduced stress by saying no. The self-awareness of sabotaging thought lines and igniting an empowering positive mindset & attiitude towards themselves, refreshing to learn they are giving back to others. Putting themselves in uncomfortable situations, saying yes when they are nervous and seeing growth from being out of their comfort zone. They were all so grateful for the opportunity to extend their networks, develop themselves with like minded women and foster positive connections an abundance of skills they can carry through for life. Warms my heart to know these women are feeling stronger, empowered and confident to handle life’s challenges and triumphs I think my smile gives it away. So exciting to be back face to face & see such instrumental growth

16.01.2022 Julia shares with you her time in the limelight, how we should be speaking up and setting expectation's sooner rather than later. How women have the natural ability in their Leadership style of empathy and social interaction with our nurturing approach. How important it is to take the time to reflect on your achievements, that she moved on too quickly after bringing in changes and reforms as her time in the Prime Minister's seat, take the time to reflect to encourage you're... on the right track and to build on your confidence. Sharing how she feels women tend to get the leadership roles when organisations are in crisis, is it too late that they have to initiate change in a challenging climate? Which can only burden the impact. Julia also shares how she is continually developing and mastering her leadership style over time. Continually adapting and creating a way for women to be inspired.

14.01.2022 How can change of a routine can bring new ideas for your energy. This morning I decided to drop my son at the closer bus stop to school. With that I took another direction for my morning walk. This reminded me to be present and take in all the environment and notice what is happening around me. ... I was inspired by a Mum in the park playing cards with her primary aged children overlooking the sea, you see your kids want your time not money. She was completely engaged with her kids before the school day started. What a great start to the morning. Was calming to see a woman on her yoga mat, being mindful, meditating, stretching, doing yoga . Reminded me that you dont need to be an expert at something, although doing something that feels right for you is good enough. A person lazing on the grass reading a book allowing some space to enjoy a good novel and engage yourself into something that reenergises you. Someone taking the time to hold their virtual meeting on their laptop overlooking the ocean. Thinking this may depend on your work to being appropriate. Although could have been a friend or family member from afar. I love to swim, although always think I need to at least swim 1km minimum when being in the water. Although how refreshing to just take a dip see it as a plunge pool experience. Waking you up to start your day. With spring here, summer is getting closer and in return the sea is getting warmer. I feel so blessed to be living in Australia, with access to so much. We fall out of routine and sometimes forget to do the things that reinvigorate our soul. There was so much laughter and connection this morning. Either starting your day with a calming start or something more vigorous like kicking a ball or playing cricket at the beach or a park nearby. A little ounce of healthy Vitamin D can be all we need from time to time. The morning is a great time to be out, sunscreen free and less people. If you have been feeling flat and your energy is low, I encourage your to do something before your work day starts rather than doing nothing. You wont regret it?! Do you have time in the morning, no excuses? Or could you wake up 20 minutes earlier to get some sunshine? What will you do tomorrow to bring more energy to your life?

14.01.2022 Do you see someone in your office that could do with a little self-belief? Rarely do we get somewhere in life on our own. We need that one person of influence, be it a manager, a colleague, a support group, a family friend, a mentor or sponsor that can see something inside ourselves that we can't always see.... I have been working with women over the past eight years through the the Springboard Women's Development Program creating self-belief, confidence, the power to speak up and direct their own career. Giving them the power to take control over their lives both personally and professionally. This in return has assisted managers making less assumptions, trying to figure out what their staff want. For their staff will be able to communicate more effectively and drive their career. The power of empowering women in your talent pools with the tools and strategies they can use in all facets of their lives could be the greatest investment moving forward. 5 tickets left to encourage and support women in non-management within your organisation.

13.01.2022 I love everything about Women’s Agenda, even more so now I’m in it!

12.01.2022 For every woman out there that gets the opportunity to care for someone. I wish you the very best of today. Sometimes its great to celebrate being a mother and all the joys and tough times that come with it. Nothing can prepare you for every hurdle you come across through out your childrens lives. One thing though that can make an immense change in your life is getting some space to re-energise yourself. ... So for most of us we have been home schooling, cooking three meals, cleaning and still working full time. All whilst feeling smothered for two months and more for some. This Mothers Day I asked for some space. Not only from the kids but hubby too. I love them so much, although none of us signed up for this 24/7 relationship did we They went off to golf this morning and I had a lovely time soaking in a bath, facial, nail painting, meditation, watering my garden, reading my new book and just being in our home, all by myself. I told them please dont rush it was heaven. How long since you have had the house to yourself? After a couple of hours I missed them. This certainly wasnt what I was feeling this morning before they left. Space is necessary to give yourself the time to re-engage and re-energise your soul. Now we are all happy again. Wholesome living, space is essential and bringing calm into my world. What is it you hope for this Mothers Day?

12.01.2022 What an inspiring and diverse group of women from Environment, Energy and Science on the Springboard Women's Development Program we wrapped up yesterday. Spending sixteen weeks together, fostering their self-development, gaining strength from their connections, opening their minds with empathy and sharing how others lead, creating positive self-talk, Connecting with themselves, responding to life's challenges, Sharing their future plans with their managers, speaking up in the... right light and much more. It has been wonderful to create a space where women feel safe and supported whilst planning their future, especially through these trying times. Wishing them all the very best for their future development. #diversityandinclusion #engagedemployees #womensdevelopment #springboardwomensdevelopmentprogram #backingyourself #selfdevelopment

10.01.2022 Networking in a Pandemic World! Staying connected can help with our overall health in this disconnected way we are all working. 07.01.2022 School Holidays dont always need to be about what the kids want. Juggling life today, off for a dip in the ocean to search for to feel alive with this awesome tribe of people. I am now ready to have a scooter with the little peeps in my life and fully engaged in having fun with them as opposed to feeling resentful and that their needs are met and not mine. ... Its so important to get snippets of me time in your life to connect with yourself and feel alive. What have you done for you in the last week?

06.01.2022 Loving this red table talk with Demi Moore and her daughters Rumer and Tallulah and how we as parents need to not just show them that we are strong and holding it all together. I could relate to Demi when she said she would always tell her kids she loved them, although she never really loved herself. How our words and actions need to be congruent with how we lead our own lives. Demi shares why it is so important to love yourself, how our actions and words are seen and influ...ence our children's actions later in life. Not underestimating how indirectly you being self-conscious, crippling self-doubt that you verbalize and substance abuse to hide your pain is affecting those around you. Can I share with you, IT'S NOT HIDDEN, Demi shares how this can lead to your mini me's being overly self-aware, conscious and seeing that substance abuse is your unhealthy self-regulation tools. We need to show them positive ways to manage this. Along with starting to identify the key triggers in our emotions. Allowing your kids to emotional connect to you, being personal and openly sharing (maybe not all) although some emotions and what positive choices you are making to shift them into a positive outlook. Tallulah shares openly based on her perception of the situation when Demi was obsessed in having Ashton's baby how she developed a narrative in her own mind that 'she wasn't enough'. Her mother never told her this, she based this story from her emotions at the time which later distanced herself from her mother for three years. Your little tribe are watching and being influenced by your every move. From what you are eating, how you are talking, to what you verbally think and are saying about yourself. Check in with yourself from time to time and ponder how you are talking in front of your children, being overly conscious of your eating habits, weight, not pretty enough, not strong enough, overly wanting something so bad that you forget to be in the present moment of acceptance of what is right in front of you. Part of our limiting beliefs are formed and ingrained from our childhood. Take some time to build positive self talk. Let them see you express yourself and how you manage this is important to their shaping for the future.

06.01.2022 Do you make judgement on an instant interaction with someone? Have you ever made the wrong judgement? Me too. 04.01.2022 After chatting with a great friend this morning talking about how we can strengthen our memory this came to light. She taught me that one thing that triggers our memory can be a moment that reminds you of something from the past. Being somewhere or seeing something visual can take your mind back into a moment when you experienced something or remember doing something. ... Today I had a moment of nostalgia on my morning walk with her, as I walked along the coastline I stumbled across these colourful small clusters of flowers. Some might call them weeds. Although it instantly took me back to my childhood when I would pick them as a little girl and put them in a small vase next to my bed. Oh such happy memories of being present and enjoying the little things. Where have you been lately that has perhaps triggered a thought for you?

03.01.2022 When was the last time you gave your family, your colleagues or a friend a little compliment to make their day? I LOVE cooking, I put so much effort into creating the yummiest meal I am capable off for friends and family. Some would say this is a passion of mine. I often think, 'Why am I making such hard work for myself and the pressure to cook everything from scratch'?... Why can't I just buy a ready made meal. It's part of my makeup, it's an image I have created (which sometimes stresses me out) and I love to see people connecting with food. And to be honest, when I get those messages the next day from those people I care about. It makes me beam with happiness. And likewise, when I have had a great time with someone, or have seen them shine in a conversation, a piece of work they have accomplished or presented me with some action they have committed too. It's a great feeling to give them a gift of positive feedback. One thing you say could make a persons day. Especially in these trying times when a lot of people are struggling with life's challenges. Don't assume people can read your mind, share with people the change or progress you have seen. This will help raise them up and keep them going. Pushing forward, growing in skills and pushing boundaries to be even better than yesterday.
