25.01.2022 Our Instructor, Brenden-Austin Jackson is now a qualified Night VFR instructor!! He successfully demonstrated then taught Lyn how to fly safely at night. Awesome achievement, Brenden!

25.01.2022 Congratulations to Ivan Michelin Beard who yesterday passed his Private Pilot Licence flight test. Ivan flew a very precise test to Canberra and is planning to go on some aviation adventures with his father to build his command time. Great work Ivan.

24.01.2022 Today our Cherokee VH-UQM was involved in a landing accident at Bankstown Airport, which fortunately, did not involve any injuries at all. The PPL licenced pilot had private hired UQM for a fly away. There was no Instructor on board and the aircraft was not being operated by Fly Oz. We are grateful for the help given by Peter Edwards from Regal Air in removing the aircraft from runway 29R. We are also very grateful that the accident caused no injuries and the aircraft did its job protecting the pilot.

24.01.2022 Jack Stone has now added Design Features to his Instructor Rating. Jack has joined the Fly Oz family and is learning the operations of a flight school from the bottom up. Welcome aboard, Jack! Very excited to have you with us.

24.01.2022 After weeks of study, briefings and flying with us at Fly Oz, Troy Smith is now a Grade 3 Flight Instructor! Troy has a calm and fun teaching style and will have many happy flight students in the future. Awesome achievement, Troy!

23.01.2022 Basil Crayford had a beautiful night for his successful Night VFR test in his lovely Cessna 172. This flight was the culmination of several weeks of flight training. Congratulations Basil on this awesome achievement!

19.01.2022 A huge thanks to Jeremy, who took the time to send us an email after his recent Trial Introductory Flight. "We had a fantastic time on our TIF with Fly Oz. The three of us were expecting a great experience, but we all agree it was even better than we anticipated. Our instructor did a fantastic job taking us where we wanted to go. His control of the plane and instruction was first class. I would highly recommend this experience." A Trial Introductory Flight is an incredible first step into the world of aviation, taking in the sights of Cowra, Wyangala Dam and surrounding areas and available to all ages.

17.01.2022 Awesome achievement by Cynthia Bezemer who is now a Commercial Pilot with a Diploma of Aviation AVI 50219, Commercial Pilot. Cynthia worked very hard this year to earn this qualification with lots of exams, study and flying. Congratulations from all of us at Fly Oz.

17.01.2022 This is very exciting news! A new ruling from the US Department of Transportation and the FAA will streamline and clarify procedures to obtain approval for supersonic flight testing in the United States. Whilst the Final Rule clearly states that "the FAA continues generally to prohibit civil supersonic flight over land in the United States", this is a very exciting opportunity for the world of aviation.

10.01.2022 Congratulations to Tony Jamieson who this week achieved his Private Pilot Licence (PPL). Tony has spent the last few weeks training with our resident Cirrus Standardised Instructor Pilot (CSIP) Mark Dixon, who took Tony through his PPL training. Tony completed the normal syllabus plus some more advanced Cirrus specific training and achieved a very high level of competence. The team at Fly Oz wish Tony all the best in his future flying.

Grant recently picked up his aircraft from Kununurra and completed his Private Pilot Licence and Cirrus Standardised training concurrently. Grant has covered considerably more territory than Burke and Wills and we look forward to hearing more about his flying adventures in the near future.

07.01.2022 After completing the Fly Oz flight instructor course, Daniel Law is now a Grade 3 Flight Instructor! It has been wonderful having Daniel with us as he completed his briefings, flying and study. He had a beaut cross wind landing day for his test but managed it easily. An awesome achievement, Daniel!
