23.01.2022 Post Covid- first catch up! : What a sensational day it turned out to be, the clouds parted and the blue sky glared so we could all reunite and get back to business at the FNQMBA. Sam from ABC radio came to interview us on how we survived without our support group during lockdown. I think it's unanimous, that we all got through, (cos you know, we're tough) but it was lovely for the kids (and us) to get back together again! #bettertogether... 17.01.2022 CHANGES TO OUR MEALS FOR NEW MUM'S PROGRAM We know how hard the early days with multiples can be, we aim to take some of that pressure off by delivering healthy, ready to eat meals to our families. FNQMBA has teamed up with Eat Real Cairns to offer our members 4 complete, delicious, freshly made meals ready to eat or freeze. Elsa from Eat Real Cairns is a busy mum and local business owner. She prides herself on using the freshest local ingredients to create deliciou...s, healthy and convenient meals. Elsa also runs mentoring programs in her kitchen for young people at risk and gives work experience to those who need it. 17.01.2022 MBAW Day 4 . The FNQMBA is run by volunteers. Everything the club achieves or presents is due to the efforts of our very own Cairns volunteer base, who are all managing busy families and working outside the home too. The AMBA Chairperson, Ashlee Tenberge believes that "it takes a special person to volunteer. True volunteers deliver most successfully on projects to which they devote their hearts - I see this every day in AMBA". These are the numbers that unite multiple birth... families. These are the numbers that give strength to AMBA’s cause. A cause about providing more support to families with multiples across Australia. ‘Support from those who know’. 16.01.2022 AMBA has been invited by the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) to provide feedback on a bid for Medicare funding for abdominoplasty with repair of symptomatic rectus diastasis following pregnancy. AMBA would like to support the ASPS bid for this procedure to be reinstated, particularly for women suffering symptomatic rectus diastasis which has increased occurence following multiple birth pregnancy (compared with singleton pregnancy). The AMBA Board have created a ...survey to collect data and feedback from the perspective of multiple birth families. The survey is linked from the post below. 15.01.2022 Today is World Prematurity Day. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the babies born too early and the health challenges they may face as they grow up.... Preterm birth is considerably more frequent in multiple births compared to singleton pregnancies, occurring in over 50% of all twin births and almost 100% of higher order multiple births.
