18.01.2022 What a difference a week makes... This time last week I was preparing to give three talks via webinar to Norwegian plastic surgery registrars the following day and then I got a phone call to help a colleague to replant a thumb...and the week just got more interesting...meeting local GPs, major head and neck cancer operations, facial trauma and nerve injury, giving an invited lecture on Plastic Surgery and the benefit of multidisciplinary working for the good of patients...onl...y to finish the week off with the most challenging hand trauma case I have ever been involved with...replanting four amputated fingers. None of these things would have been possible were it not because of the training I have received, the drive to become better and to teach more junior colleagues and also teach myself, learning from other colleagues. Occasionally this process can be fraught for both sides but it’s of vital importance that there is trust between patients and their doctor. Making sure that you trust your doctor to look after your surgery, but also to look after you when the surgery is done, is paramount. Thank you to a lovely patient for this .
