Funds raised are used to invest in state-of-the-art medical equipment that changes the lives of thousands of sick and injured kids and their families - what a great cause to be able to help out with. 14.01.2022 This week we learnt a very valuable lesson - you never know when things may change. We have been participating in the Children's Hospital Foundation's #42kYourWay challenge all month (you may or may not have noticed our desperate pleas for support!). Little did we know that we would have such a close brush with the incredible work done by the Foundation. Over the weekend, our very own Kristie Fankhauser's daughter was whisked off the footy field in a stretcher and rushed to C...hildren's Health Queensland Hospital via ambulance. Amidst the stress and chaos of seeing her baby in a hospital bed, it occurred to Kristie that we never know when it could be our families benefiting from the incredible work of the Children's Hospital Foundation. None of us are immune to bad luck, and you never know when it will be your child, grandchild, sibling, niece or nephew being stretchered away to the hospital. So, with just over a week left of the challenge, please dig deep and help us reach our fundraising goal to help families in Queensland who never know when their luck may turn. In August, we walked 358 kilometres, received 74 donations, shared 3 embarrassing photos and 17 social media posts begging for support and smashed 6 individual walking and fundraising targets. So thanks for coming on this journey (putting up) with us, for your support, words of encouragement and donations. We did it!
