21.01.2022 Busy holiday fun Back to work soon! Quick update:... I've finally just taken our holiday pics off the camera! We enjoyed a relaxing Christmas Eve with our crazy excited kids in our pool. I'm looking forward to seeing Miss Monika back in action on Mondays with babies and I'll be busy massaging. All staff back on deck for Block#1. Christmas and the holidays have been good here. Our staff have been busy on their holidays too. We've got a big year planned that we are currently getting organised for.

Enjoying yummy rewards helps too Water can be a scary place for some children who don't love swimming. Patience, encouragement and a gentle approach takes time to work on slowly building up skills and confidence. I like to call timid swimmers our "super smarties" - they often have a heightened awareness of the dangers of what we do with swimming... 18.01.2022 ANOTHER FAREWELL Natural Beginnings Childcare Gordonvale Over 3 years of wonderful memories made with this beautiful centre and their friendly staff #highlyrecommend #topdaycare... Our absolute highlight was training Educator Miss Jodie as a fully qualified Austswim teacher Our parent days were very special too Especially our end of year Mini Meets. Plus the children who started not even wanting to put eyes in, but left swimming underwater It's been a sad term of goodbyes for us here, with 2 of our regular weekday teachers Miss Kiara and Miss Rachel moving on from our pool so they can move to teaching at school. However, restructuring our teaching team has given us the opportunity to change our schedule to get a better balance with sharing our family home too. Sadly, this means we've had to say goodbye to our daycare as we just couldn't fit everything in for everybody It's truly been an amazing opportunity working with you all as we've grown to capacity. We wish you all the best and we'll miss the fun mix of lovely little families you shared with us each day you travelled to us on your cool little bus. Thank you for your support

14.01.2022 NEWS ALERT Meet Rachel Our new swim teacher! Rachel will be teaching Thursday morning classes and doing all our relief teaching, so she'll be meeting everyone soon ... We've started intense training and she'll be doing extra shifts so all our families can meet her. It's important to our little swim school to have the right teachers who care. Rachel will also be helping in our office and with our social media sharing. She's a vibrant energetic happy experienced teacher What's Rachel's story? A swimmer from way back (working through all levels), she become a qualified lifeguard and swim teacher in 2011. She is qualified to teach newborns through to adults. She's worked at various swim schools to develop into teaching at the highest level. We've got our own intense months of training for her to complete too. From the UK, she fell in love with Cairns after travelling up the East Coast on a three month holiday adventure. On another working holiday here, she became a PADI advanced scuba diver qualified and met her born-and-bred Cairns' husband. Now married and busy with 2 beautiful children - Rose is 2 and her newest addition is little Lewys, who is 4 months old. She's a Cairns' local now. Rachel understands the challenges (and joy!) many of our parents are experiencing now. She knows how amazing it is watching our children grow and learn to swim! We can't wait to see her talents shine here
