23.01.2022 As National Volunteer week comes to an end, we want to acknowledge how grateful we are for the support that the Foundation has received over the past 5 1/2 years. Without your ongoing support and contribution we would not exist, or be able to support so many families. On behalf of the Footprints Foundation clients and Committee, thank you. The past five months during COVID19 has been extremely difficult for everyone, particularly given the social restrictions and its impact o...n our ability to support our clients. Whilst these restrictions have changed our ability to support clients, we have been working on other ways to support our local community. We have recently purchased a Lymphedema machine to assist with the establishment of the Lymphedema Clinic at the Central Gippsland Health Service. This will formally be advertised to the community once the social distancing restrictions have been eased. This is a huge asset for the local community. We are extremely proud of our contribution to this clinic. Moving forward, your support will be even more important as we navigate our way back and establish a new model to support the local community in this changed environment. Thank you for your support and stay tuned! We will be back soon, bigger and better than ever.

10.01.2022 CHRISTIE'S VISION Stories Behind the Scars - Christie's Vision proved to be an emotional and humbling night at the Bond Street Event Centre last night. Christie Wood's vision was to show people a snippet of what goes on in the life of cancer patients and their families behind the scenes, scars and all. Many brave individuals and families shared their own personal stories with a raw emotion that brought tears to your eyes. Those that attended were lucky enough to share in... some of the both heartbreaking and inspiring stories that are the driving force behind the amazing Samuel Johnson and his crew in the tireless work that they do for the Love Your Sister charity. Sam spoke about their mission to vanquish cancer by raising enough money to ensure personalised medical testing for targeted cancer treatment in Australia. Targeted therapy attacks tumours based on their individual genetic traits, not their location in the body. It’s becoming more widely used with great success overseas, so why not Australia? The Love Your Sister crew are currently spending 700 days travelling around Australia in an effort to share their mission with as many people as possible, outlining their vision for a cancer free future. If you’re in a position to help Sam and his team, as little as $10 a month will help to fund their push for personalised treatment for cancer patients all over Australia. If you’re not able to commit financially you can still help by liking the Love Your Sister Facebook page and (in Sam’s words) sharing the sh#t out of his posts. https://love-your-sister.giveeasy.org/fcb Let’s work together to see Sam’s vision through www.loveyoursister.org #loveyoursister #nowisawesome #vanquishcancer Please share this post to help spread the word See more

08.01.2022 The Footprints Foundation would like to thank Kristie McDonald & The Maffra Cricket Club for holding an amazing Pretty in Pink evening last night, with all proceeds being donated to our Foundation. Three extremely inspirational women, Narelle, Danielle and Leah shared their personal and emotional stories, which didn’t leave a dry eye in the crowd. Through out the night there was great music by local band The Lone Hands, with many prizes and auctions up for grabs. Overall an amazing night and thanks to the generosity of the local community, a donation of $4401 was raised for the Footprints Foundation to help support local women and their families going through treatment for breast cancer. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you to everyone involved, it is truely appreciated

07.01.2022 Our priority is protecting the health of our loyal Mother’s Day Classic supporters. In light of the Australian Chief Medical Officer’s recommendation of limitin...g mass public gatherings of more than 500 people, the Mother’s Day Classic Foundation is reviewing the status of each of its 90 events around the country, big and small, and we will provide an update shortly. We are putting in place plans for a virtual or other form of event to allow our supporters to get involved on Mother’s Day and continue raising awareness and support for breast cancer research. For over 22 years the Mother’s Day Classic has brought the community together to raise funds for vital breast cancer research and to celebrate and remember those touched by breast cancer. We believe that this can still be achieved. The Mother’s Day Classic will take place in a virtual or other form on 10 May 2020 and we encourage the community to continue registering, fundraising and donating to raise vital funds for breast cancer research as we develop alternate plans which will be announced as soon as possible.
