16.01.2022 To bring some Monday laughs!

16.01.2022 Yesterday our 3-4 yr old Kookaburras decided to unleash their creative building skills and imaginative play as they built castles, cubbys, and houses. What a wonderful combination of problem solving, imagination, vision, team working and gross motor skills!

15.01.2022 Our generous outdoor area and large shade sails mean that even on sunny days we stay cool and safe while exploring, imagining and inventing in our sandpit!

13.01.2022 Our 3-4 yr old Kookaburras have been exploring their natural environment and growing strawberries. This has prompted all sorts of interesting discussions between the children about how plants grow, as well as the sorts of creatures such as worms and insects that help the process along. What engaged learners!

10.01.2022 Our Kookaburras have been working on some design plans for our new playground - great work girls! At Footprints we encourage open ended play, recognising that it allows children to use their imagination, build social skills as they communicate and collaborate with friends, and try different solutions - learning that there are lots of ways to get to the same end goal.

10.01.2022 Today our Kookaburra (3-4 yr old) children used our outdoor learning environment to balance, imagine and communicate as they considered all the things the log could be. At one point it was a snake, at the next it was an ambulance. This led to discussions with educators about ambulances, fire engines and other vehicles at group learning time. Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood, Fred Rogers, aka Mr. Rogers.

07.01.2022 Our 2-3 year old Bilbies have been exploring space with educator Jas over the past couple of weeks. As well as setting up an exploration and learning area, the Bilby team have been extending the children's interest with books, music, movement and sensory exploration, all with a space theme! Thanks Miss Jas!

07.01.2022 We have had so much fun this week welcoming Henny Penny Hatching - Head Office to Footprints! Our children have watched the eggs hatch, and then had a chance to meet the chicken and participate in a number of chicken themed learning activities!

06.01.2022 Wow! We are so lucky here on the Coast to have water play options for both our bubbas and our budding surfgroms!

05.01.2022 "On my worst days I need to treat myself the way I try to treat my children on theirs" Kylie Coulson When our little people are having a hard time, we usually give them a healthy snack, arrange some quiet time or some exercise, and encourage them to take a nap. Let's do the same for ourselves!

03.01.2022 Wishing everyone in our Footprints community a blessed Easter.

02.01.2022 Do you know your child’s love language? An easy way to tell is to ask them which of the below they would like most. Check out 5lovelanguages.com for more info

02.01.2022 Here at Footprints we've been following Munch 'n Move for a number of years now. This is a NSW Health initiative which encourages a fun, play-based approach to supporting healthy eating and physical activity habits in young children. Here we are in our large playground exploring gross motor skills!

01.01.2022 Right who's got that Tuesday feeling about family dinners for the rest of the week? We think that one pan dinners are THE BEST. Plus one pan = less washing up! Check out these for some midweek inspiration https://www.taste.com.au/reci/collections/tray-bake-recipes
