25.01.2022 Club member David Walker hit the deck yesterday; broken femur right up near the hip; he's in Footscray Hospital having had a plate and screws put in and recovering well. Sensational job done by Tom Rickard to take care of him and get him all the help he needed. Take it easy Dave and get well mate. -Your FCC buddies.

24.01.2022 Vale Vinn Beasley It is with sadness that we notify members of the recent passing of past member Vinn Beasley (father of our member Paul). Vinn was a member of the famous Beasley Cycling family. Vinn raced mainly in the late 1950's and 1960's. and was an accomplished cyclist. Vinn's Palmares included; memebr of the Footscray Team (with Peter Panton, Ted Harrison, George Bartlett) 1st LVW road premiership 1958, 1st 1959 Austral Wheelrace, 2nd 1959 Sun Tour, 1st 1960 & 1961 Foo...tscray Club Tour. Recent members may remember seeing Vinn at the races walking his greyhounds whilst watching his son Paul race. It was a great please to chat with Vinn on these occasions, he had a kind soul and was a true gentleman. We wish to pass on our sincere condolences to Paul and his family. Attached is a clipping from a late 1959 edition of the Cyclist.

23.01.2022 So the Andrews Gov't has posted this today. Looks promising.

22.01.2022 Many of you would have heard the terrible news that FCC Life Member and Club Secretary Mark Micallef lost both his parents to the pandemic over the weekend. I am sure all of you will join me in extending to Mark, his wife Tracy and their family our deepest sympathies. Mark has asked me to pass on his heartfelt gratitude for all the condolences he has received, and that they have been of great comfort in this trying time. The club has sent Mark and Tracy a small token of our ...love and support. Stay safe Footscray CC.

15.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS OF THE FCC. The Footscray Cycling Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 9th at 7 pm, via an online video meet (Webex). It is a requirement in Victorian law that we hold an AGM to elect our Executive and present the Auditor’s Report. The Executive called for nominations to the Executive on April 21, and again on May 12, in emails to members. (if you did not receive these, you need to update your email on the CA website) Nominations have now closed and as we have one nomination to each of the positions, these will be presented to Members at the AGM for ratification only. To attend the meeting, please RSVP at [email protected] by this Friday June 5 so we can send you the online video meeting link. -FCC Executive

14.01.2022 Dear FCC Members. Can I ask any of you who, when applying for your CA Racing License, may have given them a 'throwaway' email address ([email protected]) please update it to one you regularly check, as the FCC are using these emails as our official communication portal to you, the Members. -FCC Executive.

14.01.2022 Entries for our first race of 2021 close at 8pm tonight via Entry Boss, make sure your licence and details are up to date. The BOM's forecast is a bit mixed but fingers crossed the weather holds out.

14.01.2022 Last Call: if you are an FCC member, Video meet invites for Tuesday's AGM must be requested by tonight. [email protected]

12.01.2022 The FCC have been working closely with VU to get us back to racing Saturday Afternoon and Thursday Evenings, and we are confident we will be able to return as soon as this Thursday 26th; we are just awaiting official sign-off from VU (who have been tremendous in their support of our return to racing) As soon as we confirm, we will open up entryboss and off we go! In the mean time, a few things to consider: -Initially, racing will be for MEMBERS ONLY. -Given our 8 months raci...ng hiatus, expect your racing skills to be a little rusty, and adjust your race plan accordingly. No need to put yourself, or others, at risk by any foolhardy moves. -The FCC has developed a General Covid Policy: http://footscraycc.com.au/general-covid-19-race-information/ and a Race Policy: http://footscraycc.com.au/vu-racing-covid-19-information/ PLEASE READ THESE VERY CAREFULLY. We are very serious about all of these measures, and expect full compliance in the interests of safety and continuing to avoid the worst of Covid. Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! -FCC Exec See more

You must have a rear red light to compete. Remember there are residential properties adjacent to the Hall, so please keep noise to a minimum first thing in the morning.

07.01.2022 The 2019/20 Criterium Aggregate is run, won and done! https://boondogglesrevenge.wordpress.com/footscray-cycling/

07.01.2022 Some great racing for our return. Massive solo wins to Brad Ericson in A and Bjorn Williams in B. Thx to all for adapting to our covid plan. See you all Saturday!

06.01.2022 From ex-racer Paul Antonello. "1992 Footscray CC 3 day tour....at willi crit...last stage i think. Richard McCorkell....Bob Shannon (i think) then me." Great pic mate; keep 'em coming!

05.01.2022 Remember to always bring a face mask if you're attending one of our events. You'll be required to wear one when queuing and when interacting with race officials.

04.01.2022 DON'T FORGET If your licence expires this Thursday (31st Dec) you will need to renew it before entering a race scheduled in 2021. Also, please make sure both your Entry Boss and licence details are valid, as due to our Covid-19 procedures we will NOT be handling licences, phones etc for verification.

04.01.2022 Richard, deepest condolences from your friends at the FCC mate.

02.01.2022 Thx Caz and hubstar for the pics!

02.01.2022 Make sure you've renewed your membership if you're racing tomorrow. Some of you may have let it expire during lock down.

01.01.2022 Today would have marked the start of the 62nd FCC Club Tour. The COVID-19 virus restrictions have put paid to us holding the event. David Barber asked the question is this the first time the Tour has been cancelled, and the answer is yes. Since its inception in 1959 the FCC Tour hasn't missed a year. The Tours inaugural running was notable for the final stage finish. See attached the cover and related article from the August 1959 addition of "The Australian Cyclist" kindly supplied from the archives of Club life member Geoff Salter. It features some FCC past greats one of whom is none other than past life member and legend Hugh Cram, a great bike handler and rarely seen in this predicament.

01.01.2022 Anyone care to hazard a guess who this Footscray Amateur star of the 80's is? :) Thanks Walter Dapcich for the pics.

01.01.2022 As luck would have it MAAP Nth.Melbourne is now closed due the entire suburb being in COVID19 lockdown. MAAP have kindly offered to courier all FCC MAAP kit out to you all via DHL but with only one staff member working handling all store tasks etc. this may take a few days so just a little more patience please would be appreciated. Thank you
