24.01.2022 Snow flurries at Forbes Creek Farm today. The trees are nicely tucked up hiding from the cold in their tree guards. The kids on the other hand wanted to break out the !

20.01.2022 We've been mooned!

19.01.2022 We rendered some beeswax from our seasons harvest. Best polish our table has had so far. Anyone know where we can get a polissoir?

18.01.2022 Making hay while the sun shines, but rather our own little version of sewing pasture while the rain falls. Turn around and see the most amazing rainbow of my life! The photo really doesn't do this double rainbow justice, it had colours that haven't even been given a cheesy name by a paint company yet!

09.01.2022 Well with the contour ripping and this level of confidence from our BOM, my confidence is emboldened that I won't need to water the stone pine this year! Advances made by BOM, CSIRO and our Universities in numerical weather prediction through ACCESS has improved the predictive capacity for short and medium term forecasts. Investing in climate science is a good investment, plain and simple.

08.01.2022 Despite the dry season the pines are doing well. Good site preparation paying dividends!

05.01.2022 Back when we were kids, if someone mentioned frogs, it was normally Dad, and the only thing to do was open a window. Maybe that was why Dad like the amphibious type of frog, it gave him cover. So I was very excited to test out a cool app @frogIDaus from the Australian Museum. You can find it at https://www.frogid.net.au/ Basically you can record the sounds at your local watering hole and the app will provide suggestions for possible frog matches. Then in true citizen science form, you can upload the recording and someone skilled will verify the frogs, and all helping with frog research! I didn't turn up any Frogo sapiens, but there is some Eastern Banjo Frogs out here strumming on their three stringers.

04.01.2022 What a great time of year on the farm. Reptiles are out and about, the colour variation in the blue tongues out here is amazing! The odd Jacky Dragon can be spotted dashing across your path. The flowers are blooming, the bees are busy, and yes we interrupted the gentle peace with 2-stroke clatter to get the wood split and stacked for next winter.

03.01.2022 One of the many reasons we are producing Australian grown Italian Stone Pine (Pinus pinea). A number of theories and some scientific studies suggesting that poor quality control and potentially the use of other pine nut varieties can give some people 'pine mouth'!
