17.01.2022 Lego challenge day! Everyone received a bag of lego to use their creativity and imagination with. Some chose to go into a pair with a friend or some went solo. The discussion while building was interesting to hear! Everyone was negotiating, planning, asking opinions, sharing ideas and showing amazing creativity.... Everyone got one free choice card- this was to select something from the left overs box. We will update you on the finished products later today.

14.01.2022 MERRY CHRISTMAS We made some super magic reindeer food today (biodegradable of course) to ensure Santa can find us! We also watched some Christmas movies and got to take home a special treat to have at home tonight.... We hope that all of our families travel safely, get lots of presents and enjoy some special time with family. We have loved looking after your amazingly wonderful children this year and hope to see you back in 2021. We return on January 11th. Best wishes From the OSHC crew

12.01.2022 Summer Vacation Care is coming!! Bookings can be made by emailing [email protected] or calling 68523135/ 0437833613. We are holding off on excursions a little bit longer, just until COVID is settled more. Summer holidays will involve impromptu water play- so please have spare clothes in bags ready. ... These holidays we will also be splitting the ages of children as much as we can to provide the older children more challenges and leadership, as this has been asked for by them, while giving everyone some space in the heat!! Look forward to catching up with you all soon

08.01.2022 Vacation care is back! We have had a great start back and have enjoyed seeing our friends and new faces Today we created canvas masterpieces and loved the modelling clay.... We also practiced our emergency evacation drill- which created lots and lots of questions. Including the children in the evaluation of these drills is so valuable. They raised questions and then discussed answers and possible scenarios, we are going to practice a few of these scenarios to see what other questions and answer we discover! Have you practiced a fire or snake drill at home? If you need any information regarding this, let us know! We are going to source some information to send home :)

07.01.2022 Today we introduced our Be You program. We will be using this as a check in for our children and educators' mental health and wellbeing. We will be concentrating on learning about emotions, labelling them, understanding why we feel what we do, building resilience and developing a Be You community within our OSHC. We would like our service to be a safe place, a place where noone feels left out and where we can learn strategies to cope with different obstacles and feelings. To...day we had a discussion about all of these practices, talked about our senses and the way we can use them to calm our busy mind and that funny feeling you get in your belly when things make you upset. 06.01.2022 ANZAC DAY 2021 We will be marching on Sunday~ joining in with Forbes Learning Ladder. Today we made a beautiful wreath that will hang on our fence at Forbes North Primary hall. ... We also had some poppy craft, a discussion about ANZAC day and a provocation to play with the soldiers. Lest We Forget
