25.01.2022 1 week to go, 3 spots left...

25.01.2022 Just found a bee swarm...and a storm is coming! Wish me luck-first time catching a big wild swarm.

24.01.2022 Wish I could draw like that

23.01.2022 A few spots left for this weekend.

23.01.2022 These are amazing symbionts.

23.01.2022 This looks worth attending if you're in Queensland. https://woodfordia.org///mycology-fungi-research-project/

21.01.2022 Late breakfast.

21.01.2022 This is "bravo", when you start the day with a coffee, skip breakfast and lunch, and finally get to eat mid afternoon. #forestfungi #forestfungifarm #permaculture #growyourownfood #mushrooms #eatyourgarden

18.01.2022 Log grown shiitake, 5th year of fruiting, in full sun. The eucalyptus log is part of my garden terrace. #forestfungi #forestfungifarm #loggrownmushrooms #loggrownshiitake #shiitake #mushrooms #mycopermaculture #permaculture #mushroomcultivation #growyourownfood #gourmetmushrooms

17.01.2022 Please spread the word, we are running courses again. I've got a FREE bag of 1000 dowels of you choice for the person who shares this event the most effectively! We can teach you how to grow delicious, organic, nutrient dense gourmet mushrooms-including white elves and wood blewiits!

17.01.2022 Monkeys brains and lion's mane, special mushrooms, becoming very popular. We have cloned a few species from the Tarkine and Huon, they all grow slightly differently. We like them ripped, dusted in chickpea flour, then deep fried. Served with a tamarillo and gooseberry chilli sauce. #forestfungi #forestfungifarm #hericium #monkeysbrain #lionsmanemushroom #growyourownfood #mushrooms #mushroomcultivation

16.01.2022 Log grown shiitake mushrooms. So easy to grow. A different experience altogether, compared to store bought. Did you know that many of the big farms, in Australia and elsewhere, import pre made mushroom bags from China, then pick the mushrooms and call them grown in Australia!? Get to know your grower, or better yet, grow your own. #forestfungi #forestfungifarm #shiitake #shiitakemushrooms #loggrownshiitake #mushroomcultivation #permaculture #growyourownfood #gourmetmushrooms #supportlocalfarmers

16.01.2022 Just released tickets for 3 more workshops. These will be the last for the year.

13.01.2022 Well hello boys, you've got sisters!

12.01.2022 Some nice big shiitake mushrooms, grown on eucalyptus. I forgot about a small stack of logs behind my leaky water tank, which have fruited despite my neglect. #forestfungi #forestfungifarm #shiitake #loggrownshiitake #growyourownfood #mushroomcultivation #mushrooms #homegrown

12.01.2022 Dear Customers, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am being forced to leave my home and workplace. If you are in Tasmania, I will have lots of mushroom growing equipment and supplies for sale, including flow hoods, All American PCs, grow bags, bag filling machine, uninoculated dowels. If you are waiting on orders, I am aiming to fulfil them ASAP, but I'm happy to refund you if you prefer. My apologies for any delays. Thanks for your support over the last 12 years, I hope to keep running my business, and look forward to sharing some exciting developments. Cheers, Will

09.01.2022 A few here I haven't seen!

08.01.2022 A few white elves, kings, adiposa, lion's mane, and blue and white oysters. All grown on eucalyptus sawdust with seaweed and bran. You can taste the difference between these and mushrooms grown on newspaper. #forestfungi #forestfungifarm #growyourownfood #mushrooms #permaculture #pholiotaadiposa #hericium #whiteelfmushroom #mushroomcultivation #tasmaniangrown #localproduce

03.01.2022 Wood ear mushrooms, Auricularia auricula-judae, growing in the Bunya mountains. These contain blood thinning compounds, so careful if you are taking medication. An interesting culinary mushroom, with a crunchy, texture. #forestfungi #mushrooms #mushroomcultivation #wildmushrooms #woodear #auricularia

03.01.2022 These kids bucked the trend, born this glorious morning. Apparently goats usually choose the worst weather to give birth. These little Toggenburgs are dairy goats, their Mother will give us a couple of litres of milk a day, and the kids get as much as they want. If we also bottle feed the kids, they become very friendly. I usually add kefir grains to the fresh milk, then make cheese from what I don't drink. What does this have to do with mushrooms? We grow various mushrooms ( oysters, blewitts and king stropharia) on their stable litter, and I have noticed the goats enjoy eating various fungi and lichen. I wish I knew more about what they want, but for now I can observe. #forestfungifarm # goats #toggenburg #permaculture #mycopermaculture #firstday

02.01.2022 It's been a while, but I'm back running courses in Tasmania.
