23.01.2022 Beautiful and sunny one minute... raining the next. These guys wanted to go for a nice ride this arvo so I roped them into helping draft cattle on the horses (I always get the blame for putting them to good use) GFOUR Brand Courtney Mcleod Charlie Matthews

22.01.2022 FORGE FIRE UPDATE We have had an overwhelming number of people reach out to us and ask how we are coping given the recent fire activity at both our Lake Buffalo and Rose River property’s. We won’t lie. It’s been a very tough past few weeks as we’ve battled blazes, moved stock and had much of our land burn including our hut at Lake Buffalo. ... Here’s an update on our current situation: We’ve walked all the cattle out of Buffalo to the Rose River paddocks. They were then trucked out of the valley to go to new paddocks with grass. We had to leave one paddock of cows there in a unburnt paddock, however that paddock has burnt now too. The glowing picture was taken last night at Rose River. Which means we still aren’t out of the woods yet and are still on alert, ready to protect the Rose River farm and minimise fire impact. Thankyou to everyone for your offers of assistance, kind messages and phone calls. Your support has been amazing! As you can imagine, we have a little on our plate at the moment and are often out of service, so if we don’t respond to messages or future booking enquires immediately please be patient with us during this time. We’ll be sure to back rebuilding what was lost and into the swing of things once more when the fire threat is over. Thanks everyone! The Forge Family

20.01.2022 Amazing pictures captured by Katrina Cook Photography this weekend at our team penning jump over and like her page to see some cracking photos

17.01.2022 Another successful day moving cattle Fires are still active and have travelled well past where we originally hoped that they would. Found a stag head that got so hot it wouldn’t even stay in one piece and walked the cattle over the Buffalo dam wall which isn’t known to have happened before

17.01.2022 Well, we are back on the road with the moos again we have another great crew trekking along with us who have quickly learnt the ropes and doing a wonderful job! Here’s a few pics from the last couple days More to come

16.01.2022 Hard to believe this is what we had faced 1 year ago today! Unfortunately the Abbeyard Fire saw fit to torment us again this year. While we felt like we had no control over the fires, at least we had more control than what’s going on now. Seems like we are jumping from one dilemma to the next Due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 we will not be running any rides or trips until further notice. ... In saying that we hope everyone is self isolating out on their horses and staying as safe as possible You better be getting those horses fit and ready for once it’s all over! There’s some pretty cool rides coming soon See more

15.01.2022 Here’s a bit of Rose River and Buffalo Lake area. First couple pics show where our cattle are in the Buffalo. We couldn’t get in there to help them through the ...night, only to find them wondering back over the already burnt ground this morning...alive! Unbelievable how the fire skipped over the top and didn’t drop strait down on them like we had thought. Fingers crossed one more mob is okay For those who have been mustering with us, this is our hut. She got pretty hot but hey, she can always be rebuilt. Have a look at how hot the Aluminium got on the side of the caravan! Thanks to everyone who’s messaged, called ect - we are safe and now just hanging to save the house and cows at Rose River See more

14.01.2022 Just been around to feed our cows in Yarrabulla, but can’t get in as this has now sparked up The girls will have to go hungry tonight but fingers crossed they stay on some burnt ground and the fire dies down quickly
