And talked about the background of the sport and some of the famous players. Including Puffy Coombs, Harpo Marx, george Clooney and Brad Pitt..Winston Churchill apparently wanted to be buried in his croquet lawn at Chartwell in Kent.
23.01.2022 This is your chance to come and try Gateball in Perth! Gateball is a team sport inspired by croquet and Forrest Park Croquet Club is starting a trial weekly season from Sunday 24th march 4-6pm for several months. Invented in Japan in 1947 the game is played by millions around the world and is a fast paced (30 minute game) highly strategic non contact team game. The 20/20 verion of croquet! It is played on a rectangular court 20 metres long and 15 metres wide. Each court... has three gates and a goal pole. Equipment and training are all provided in a friendly supportive environment and suitable to be played by anyone, however we do need to know who is coming. Numbers are limited so you need to rsvp to [email protected], or search Perth Gateball at Forrest Park group on Meetup and rsvp there. Cost $10 per session. Call 0407 394 854 for more information." https://www.meetup.com/Perth-Recreational-Sports-Meetup/ See more

20.01.2022 A new tournament was held at Nedlands to celebrate the return to competitive play following the shutdown for COVID-19. Forrest Park was very well represented with Chris McWhirter winning the COVID Cup 19 Point Singles after a hard fought battle with John Rea. Brett and Janine McHardy won the Isolation Shield Doubles. The ABC had a camera crew there to celebrate the restart. Both Chris and Janine were interviewed. https://www.msn.com//perth-croquet-club-celebr/vp-BB16lwIT

04.01.2022 To protect our members and the community and in keeping with the current guidelines of the Government, Forrest Park Croquet Club has suspended all organized events. The club remains open to members who may play in small (less than 10 people) groups with the appropriate social distancing and hygiene practices when handling equipment. This decision may change as new guidance comes from the Government.
