25.01.2022 This morning the crew gathered around to workout for charity. Today we were supporting Monique raise money for MND. Because of Covid the annual stair climb for the firies was cancelled so we kicked in and done this workout instead! Give it a go if you're looking for a good workout - 1200m buy in run 3 rounds 9 deadlift... 15 db hang clean and jerk 21 db front rack lunges Buy out 196 double unders (or 507 single skips ) Thanks team for showing up and supporting a great cause

24.01.2022 DECEMBER! We hope you all have had an amazing month celebrating the festive season with friends and family. It has been a well deserved break after a rollercoaster of a year. This year was full of much uncertainty but one thing is for sure our fort family has grown and is stronger than ever, and we could not be any more appreciative of the wonderful members we have.... Happy new year to all our members. Past, present and future. We wish you all good health, many PB's and an amazing 2021. We can't wait for another year with you all.

18.01.2022 FORT FAM FRIDAY! Jake is a more recent member at the Fort, but he has definitely made the most of his results in a short period of time. Anything Jake sets out to do he accomplishes with flying colours. An absolute beast in the gym How long have you been at FORT?... Around 2 months What do you do outside of the gym? (Eg work. Hobbies) I’m a chippy, usual week just consist of work and CrossFit at the moment, but I love camping, surfing be outdoors and active. Were you nervous before you first session, and how did you feel after it? Not really nervous just didn’t really know what I was in for, whether I’d enjoy it or not? But my first day was a pretty hectic workout and I loved it. Your favourite movement and your least favourite? Favourite movement would be handstand push-ups or power cleans Least favourite double unders Your biggest achievement so far since training here? Just feeling heaps fitter and probably the fittest I’ve ever been. The best thing coach Jay has ever said to you? He says good things all the time haha he is just really good at getting across what he is trying to teach it’s not confusing and he makes it a lot easier to understand. Your favourite thing about training at FORT? The culture is unreal! Everyone gets along I’ve only been here 2 months but it’s all about just doing your best which is awesome. What was your main goal when starting here and is it still the same? I wanted to test myself first and see how I went, but really the sky is the limit I’d love to compete one day and would love to try push myself towards CrossFit games. One piece of advice for anyone who is thinking about starting? DO IT! I’ve already been trying to get people to join, best decision I made.

15.01.2022 FORT FAM FRIDAY! Christine has been a go getter from the moment she stepped foot in the gym. No challenge has been too hard. As soon as she got the all clear to start training again it has been go go go balancing training and mum life on the go How long have you been at FORT?... Been at Fort for one year What do you do outside of the gym? (Eg work. Hobbies) I'm a maths teacher currently on MAT leave, I play AFL for Port Macquarie and I spend time with my husband travelling the north coast, doing day trips. Were you nervous before you first session, and how did you feel after it? I was excited about trying something new and different, and fell in love with it, I was sore and challenged but that was what I was looking for. Your favourite movement and your least favourite? Favourite movement - deadlifts Least favourite - over head squats Your biggest achievement so far since training here? Seeing how much I've still got since returning from having a baby The best thing coach Jay has ever said to you? You've got this and yes you can Your favourite thing about training at FORT? The family vibe - coming from Sydney and training with friends for the past 7 years, FORT has made it so much easier to transition to small town life What was your main goal when starting here and is it still the same? Main goal was to rxd all workouts and to do at least one crossfit comp. Still the same goal :) One piece of advice for anyone who is thinking about starting? Fort is not your normal gym, everyone leaves their egos at the door and we all push each other. Your not joining a gym, your joining a family.

I still remember when Mara first walked in these doors, her consistency and determination is amazing and the results and achievements she has made show what hard work can do!! How long have you been at FORT? Just over 2 years... What do you do outside of the gym? (Eg work. Hobbies) I work as a property manager & spend my little spare time horse riding/chilling with my doggo. Were you nervous before you first session, and how did you feel after it? I felt very shy, nervous and out of my comfort zone but I was hooked after the first day and haven’t looked back since. Your favourite movement and your least favourite? Favourite- deadlift!!! Least - anything with burpees Your biggest achievement so far since training here? When starting at Fort I was barely able to lift the empty bar to my shoulders... these days it’s a nice feeling being able to get 40kg above my head. The best thing coach Jay has ever said to you? I wouldn’t even think about trying to put your arms above your head tomorrow, they are gonna be orangutan arms Your favourite thing about training at FORT? The atmosphere is like nothing else, it’s like a giant family. Everyone is so friendly, encouraging and supportive. What was your main goal when starting here and is it still the same? At the start my long term goal was to gain to a healthy weight. This goal has now changed to working on a positive mind set! One piece of advice for anyone who is thinking about starting? Jump out of your comfort zone and give it a go!!

11.01.2022 HOW IS IT FRIDAY ALREADY GUYS?! Time flies when you're having fun FORT FAM FRIDAY! This week we have PETER! Pete came in the door and had us in awe of his mobility. Has adapted and is always on a journey of self improvement. Another one who started in our Beginners class and got addicted to the culture at the Fort! :)... How long have you been at FORT? 2 years?? What do you do outside of the gym? (Eg work. Hobbies) Firefighter/Stone mason/Wedding Stylist - Bonsai Were you nervous before you first session, and how did you feel after it? Yes. It was my first time ever setting foot into a gym and didn’t know what to expect. After meeting Jay and Simone and completing my first session I was hooked! The expert knowledge of the coaches and the awesome community atmosphere as well as the way it makes me feel after a good session keeps me coming back!! Your favourite movement and your least favourite? Least favourite-deadlifts Most favourite- Any type of squat! Front, back, overhead, squat snatch, squat clean! Your biggest achievement so far since training here? My biggest achievement is learning the movements (with some guidance) and being confident in my abilities. The best thing coach Jay has ever said to you? Everyone is hurting during the workout Pete, regardless of where they are at in terms of fitness. Run your own race, you do you! Your favourite thing about training at FORT? The community!! What was your main goal when starting here and is it still the same? My main goal was to get an all round level of fitness. Not athlete level, just enough to help with my busy life and employment. It is important for me to be strong and fit for work. That is still my goal!! One piece of advice for anyone who is thinking about starting? DO IT! Don’t be intimidated, everyone is so nice, the coaches are great!! There are no mirrors for everyone to look at themselves it is just an honest, hardworking gym with great values and a great vibe!

Excited not nervous as I was getting back into doing something for myself & I love’d it Your favourite movement and your least favourite? Love deadlifts, Hate Burpees Your biggest achievement so far since training here? Just the continual progression of improvement in all the different movements The best thing coach Jay has ever said to you? Nice work bud. The continual positive reinforcement is uplifting Your favourite thing about training at FORT? That everyday is a different workout & the supportive atmosphere What was your main goal when starting here and is it still the same? Strength & weight loss, yes Iso wasn’t good to me One piece of advice for anyone who is thinking about starting? You can do it, we’ve all started at a different point but nothing is out of reach if you put the work in.

05.01.2022 FORTFAM FRIDAY! It's that time of the week again! This week we introduce you to our longest member TIM! Tim has come SO far in his time at Fort, he picks up the movements well and puts in the hard work. How long have you been at FORT?... Almost 4 years What do you do outside of the gym? (Eg work. Hobbies) Work in retail and a fire-fighter Were you nervous before you first session, and how did you feel after it? A little nervous i joined a beginners cycle which was great. Everything was broken down to the basic and were perfected before moving forward. It was great. Your favourite movement and your least favourite? Fav movement of head squat least no competition there and double unders. Your biggest achievement so far since training here? Bar muscle up and handstand walking The best thing coach Jay has ever said to you? Awesome job mate first bar muscle up. Your favourite thing about training at FORT? Definitely the coaching. Every class every session. Even if iv been there for years. Lol. The group atmosphere as well, makes the workout more enjoyable knowing your not dying alone. What was your main goal when starting here and is it still the same? To lose weight the ever present dadbod. I've definitely toned up. Still there a constant work in progress especially with my love of food as well. But mainly Now I do it cause I love it. One piece of advice for anyone who is thinking about starting? Keep at it . Focus on yourself and your level of training. There might be others doing something different to you more weight faster movements but then they where were you are know. All takes time and constancy and the results will show. Listen to the coach if you have a question ask it, he love it. Means you're paying attention and want to learn more.

04.01.2022 We came and we conquered This morning I was joined by 15 members of my gym @ Fort Evolution and we smashed the work out below. We did #1504formnd by doing 1...504 repetitions. As in any workout scaled options were available if needed. Row -> instead of run Lighter weights 3x Single skips -> instead of double unders So, why don’t you give this one a go too? I completed this workout in 35:53 with my only scale being single skips (507 in total ) and having to deal with my 3yr old a couple of times A video of this morning will be posted later so keep a lk out #453climbformnd #firiesclimbformnd See more
