11.01.2022 The idea behind our little orchard is not just fresh yummy produce. It is also designed to be an area for a wonderful Japanese practice called Shinrin-yoku, otherwise know as forest bathing. Forest bathing requires you to be present with all 5 senses. Smell, touch, taste, sight and sound. And discourages the use of technology whilst practicing. While shoes off is preferable, it is not necessary.... There is overwhelming scientific research documenting the success of Shinrin-yoku. It has been found to - Lower the heart rate, Lower blood pressure, Reduce stress, Reduce inflammation, Decrease fatigue, Decrease anxiety and Relax the whole body. Imagine sitting on soft grass, under a shady fruit tree, surrounded by naturalized bulbs and flowers, listening to the birds sing and bees buzz. Sounds like paradise to me. So while it may not look like much at the moment, this is what I am working towards creating. A place to unwind and help heal the soul.
