24.01.2022 HOW TO LOOK YOUNGER WITHOUT SURGERY OR BOTOX!!! Plus some other fringe benefits!! Hey its not my place to talk to anyone about having surgery or botox and if thats what you want then thats fine. However, sugery and botox can only really make your face look younger.....What about the rest of your BODY?????????????... As we are all aware..well at least those of us over 40....the body changes significantly as we age But there are alot of things we can do to not only slow that process down and reverse it in some instances. How the hell can you possibly do that ???? you may ask ......well.... keep reading Eating clean (without processed foods) has been shown to reduce all manner of diseases. From TypeII Diabeties, high blood pressure to high cholesterol...(even cancer has been linked to poor dietary habits). And these diseases and illnesses certainly age the body in radical ways. But eating clean also gives you so much more energy than sipping coffee (although still optional) all day long. And this in itself is significant because with a tonne of energy you can then be consistent and motivated with an exercise program. In this day and age its time to stop using that tired old excuse that I AM TOO OLD because no matter what age you are you can still build strength you can still build stamina and you can still transform your body with a strategic exercise program. But the beauty of exercise is that it not only increases your immune system, keeps your body fit and flexible, increases seratonin levels in the brain (that feel good hormone), reduces body fat and increases muscle mass it also reduces WRINKLES...yes reduces WRINKLES....HOW??? Well according to research the increased blood flow to the face when exercising decreases the amount of wrinkles you get When the body is energised, healthy and well, then a completely different vibe is radiated. And this vibe is a youthful vital glow. So doesnt your body deserve better and dont you deserve to feel and look younger and more vital?? The body has an amazing way of stepping up when you start exercising and eating well. And despite the significant changes you will be able to SEE, the changes that you will be able to FEEL are just as significatn. And this is so important because FEELING energised and LOOKING healthy is the only way in which we should live our lives no matter what our age. 60kg Deadlifts @ 60
24.01.2022 6 Week Body Transformation: If you have access to a tonne of info on nutrition and youre training 5 days a week yet youre still not putting on muscle or losing body fat. Youre probably wondering, whats missing? The answer is ACCOUNTABILITY.... When you allow someone else whos just as invested in your goals to hold you accountable to your goals, things change. Its easy to say no or give up on yourself but when you know youre letting someone else down if you do, youre less likely to give up. If youre like me, youd feel pretty bad to let someone else down. Over the past couple of months I have indulged in comfort food and wine as a means of coping with some personal issues. Consequently I have put on weight and although my clothes hide most of my indulgences the bare naked truth shows I am not as fit as I should be as a coach. But Now I am ready to take on a 6 week challenge in which I am going to let YOU all hold me accountable. I will post my pics and my goals up here just like I have my clients post their goals in my private FB groups to each other. Because when you let your goals be public, they become realer and you hold yourself to a higher standard when others expect you to succeed. These pics were taken today and despite how I look I feel everyone needs to know that being held accountable is one of the main reasons why my clients get results. If I fail at this after telling everyone that I was going to lose body fat and gain muscle I would feel like an absolute idiot. 24.01.2022 The 3 Biggest Mistakes I see women over 40 making when they are trying to lose weight and get fit. I have trained 100s of women over 40 over the past 8 years and I have seen 3 main patterns showing up that are sabotaging the weight loss efforts of women over 40,50, 60 and beyond. The 1st mistake I see women over 40 make is that they reduce their food intake to so little that the body just cannot cope. The problem with this is that the body goes into go slow mode thinking ...it is starving!!! That slows down the metabolism and makes weight loss (body fat) even harder. Knowing the correct foods and the right calorie intake makes losing body fat not only easier but much faster. The 2nd mistake I see women over 40 make is that they fail to make time to work out either at the gym or at home. They say they dont have time to go to the gym or they dont want to look bulk and muscular. The problem is weight training is a significant part of losing body fat because when you add muscle to your body you not only improve you overall health you actually burn calories while resting!!!! The 3rd mistake I see women over 40 making in their weight loss journey is not having someone to support and encourage them. They will hop onto the latest craze or celebrity fitness program and within weeks they lose all hope and give up. Doing anything alone is always so much more difficult than having someone on your side who wants to see you achieve your dreams and goals. Having someone who you can confide in and truly assist you to have the body of your dreams is so much more fun than trying, failing and feeling like a loser. 23.01.2022 Not everything you lose is a loss.
23.01.2022 You will be surprised at how much protein you can actually get from your food but whats even more surprising is when you understand your MACROS (protein, fats and carbs) you are then able to adjust your nutritional needs accordingly. For women starting their health journey, proteins from foods such as chicken, meat, fish, eggs, yoghurt, nuts, legumes and cheese are more than enough to sustain a healthy weight training workout. If however you were to not be in a position to ea...t breakfast or lunch then a protein shake would be advisable after a workout. The rule of thumb is 2.2grams of protein for every kilo of body weight. But this is not mandatory, its just a guide. If you were to embark upon a rigorous body building program then an extra source of protein via a protein drink would be necessary. So ultimately FOOD sources of proteins are preferred when starting on your health journey but also making sure you count your MACROS to sustain your workouts is the key to weight loss success.
21.01.2022 If you have never measured what a serving is then you might be surprised at what that means. On every food product there is a serving size for the macros (Protein fats and carbs). So getting to understand what this means to your overall health and fat loss is important because if you dont know exactly what you are eating how can you know what to adjust if nothing is happening or you plateau!!!

19.01.2022 Eventually your body has a great way of getting back at you for all the years of neglect. Eventually your body says f*ck you! Are you over 45? Are you overweight? Are you sedentary?? 19.01.2022 These pics belong to one of my online clients. If you have you been yo yo dieting for years and years then you need to keep reading. If you are over 40 and have had a lifetime of issues with food and exercise then starting a healthy lifestyle can be difficult and not only physically but mentally.... Let me explain When your body becomes accustomed to low calorie diets your metabolism slows down to accomodate your calorie intake (this was a means of keeping us alive when food was scarce). And if you have been replacing meals with protein shakes then your body will take a bit more time to finally adapt to your healthy eating and exercising program. But the mind also has issues with these changes. The body and the mind work in sync with each other and when the scales are not showing your hard work the mind can trick you into believing that its just not worth the effort. You can actually talk yourself out of what was such a committed effort only 4 weeks ago. The challenge therefore is to have a MINDSET that ignores the scales and feels for the wellness, the health and the physical changes that are improving your life . So sometimes results are a little slower coming but that doesnt mean they wont come. Changing a lifetime of habits cannot happen in a 21 day challenge. 16.01.2022 After specialising in training women over 40 I began to realise that women over 40 need to train and eat differently to everyone else. The first way in which women over 40 need to train differently is that they need to ensure their training does not impact on their bones and joints and create pain and inflammation and injury. Because women over 40 have weaker bones and joints than younger men and women you need to be very mindful of the exercises that you do so they do not... IMPACT on your body and damage your body. The second way in which women over 40 need to train differently is dependant on their lifestyle. For many women the gym is not practical or in some cases just plain intimidating. So a generic training program must incorporate movements and strength training that can get you the results that would be possible inside a gym. The program should have progressive overload targets so you need to have the right equipment and the right type of exercises to get the results you want. The third way in which women over 40 need to train differently is that core strength and mobility exercises MUST be a part of the program. Core strength for women is essential to continued health and mobility which ensures proper movement and flexibility. Its not about sit ups its about challenging the centre of the body to become strong and stable. So if you are a woman over 40 years of age youre likely wondering how this all applies to you specifically. Like how you can use this information in a custom way for you to reach your goals. And the answer is I dont know yet. 15.01.2022 Have you tried EVERYTHING to lose weight and nothing has or is working for you NOW? Have you tried low carbs, high carbs, low protein, high protein, fasting, fasted cardio 2 hours every day, bootcamps, stairs and the list goes on!! 11.01.2022 Have you every heard yourself actually having an argument with someone after you have left the conversation?? You start thinking about all the things you could have said or worse still you invent a scenario where you re-create the conversation and have your own take on it!!! 11.01.2022 Who visualises what they want to happen in their life? Who takes time out each day to really focus on what it is that you want to happen.? Do you see and feel how it would be like to have that job of your dreams? ... Do you see and feel how it would be to have that body you always wanted? Do you see and feel how it would be to have the man of your dreams call you? We know that visualising and feeling the event increases the probability of that event actually taking place because its a scientific fact that a part of our brain becomes stimulated to seek out those possibilities. I know when I coach women on losing weight and gaining health that without a shift in their MINDSET and the way they feel about their bodies that its very difficult to create the body they really want. Having your health and a body your are confident with is definitely going to take some work . But it will take more work if you dont have a goal of what you want to look and feel like and visualise that each and every day. 10.01.2022 Deep sleep not only regulates our appetite hormones Leptin and Ghelin (creating more satiety when we eat) it also downgrades inflammation in the body. So its incredibly important when you want to lose weight that you get a good nights sleep. Adding exercise to your daily routine certainly helps to achieve this as it not only tires the body out it also reduces cortizol (the stress hormone) to help relax the mind and achieve a better and deeper sleep.... So the next time you toss and turn in bed try listening to some soothing relaxing music and focus on the music instead of the noise in your head. Because without a good nights sleep not only will your focus suffer the next day but your dietary plans may well be abandoned in favour of something a bit more satisfying???
10.01.2022 Doing anything for the first time is always going to take alot of courage. Hell I remember 8 years ago when I took a group of people for a bootcamp for the first time and I was literally shaking in my boots because my internal dialogue kept telling me that I wasnt capable of doing the job and doing it right !! I was scared of pushing people too much and hurting them or not pushing them enough and having the session feel too easy. I was scared that I would look inexperienced a...nd perhaps awkward. I was scared that no-one would show up and even more scared that everyone would show up!!! However .....that first experience of taking a group of people and training them turned out to be the most exhilarating experience of my life, because about 15 minutes in I realised that these people really trusted me and were enjoying the experience I was providing. (enjoying may not be how they would possibly describe the event lol ) The point to my story is ....if I had backed away from one of the most scariest moments in my life then I wouldnt be the person I am today. I wouldnt have the privilege of training many women in many different capacities. From on to one, to online to group training. But in each instance I had to overcome the internal fear that I may not be capable or good enough to help each and every single person I have trained. Because I confronted and challenged that stupid internal dialogue I now get up every morning to a job that I absolutely love. I love training women to understand their bodies and I love teaching women how to take care of their body for sustained health and fitness. As a woman who is now in her 60s I am even more dedicated to creating a comfortable space for women to learn, grow and become the best version of themselves. 09.01.2022 hate the words "I am too busy". It seems to be a catch phrase of the new century. Too busy to work out too busy to eat properly too busy to meal prep too busy to get healthy!! But when there is something we want to do we certainly make time and prioritise that ...so its not really that we are too busy its just that we dont prioritise certain things like health And its just that your health hasnt become such an issue that it needs to take priority over everything else in yo...ur life. It s only when you cant climb those stairs without gagging on your own breath. Its only when you cant keep up with the grandkids for a few hours or when you finally take a good hard look in the mirror, that BUSY finally takes a back seat. Its not too hard to workout 3 times a week Its not too hard to prepare your meals and make time to sit down and eat your meals...its just a matter of knowing how to do it and making it a REAL priority. 09.01.2022 Have you ever listened to someones laugh from across the room and felt that thigh slapping head tilting moment. Its that moment you have no idea what the laughter is about but you know it was bloody funny and you just cant help that silly grin appearing on your face. If you are anything like me, a great contagious laugh can make you feel delighted and happy. I think life is a little bit like hearing the laughter (living your best life), having no idea why its so funny (search...ing for answers) but knowiing it must have been bloody funny and laughing anyway (live your life to the fullest despite not knowing or having all the answers anyway). Life is definitely meant to be full of laughter, and although sometimes it can be fraught with difficulty we can still listen and enjoy the small moments that make us stop and smile.

08.01.2022 As a kid (yep thats me with the longhair ) we didnt know about keto, fasting, Isagenix, supplements, sports drinks, protein powders or any of the crazy stuff that is supposed to get U slim and healthy ..it was 3 meals and 2 snacks (fruit) with milk everyday. No illnesses no obesity no chronic diseases nothing but good health and an abundance of energy .... Its just commen sense when it comes to food and getting ur butt moving ..if we werent riding our bikes to the river ...we were swimming in the river (as U can see from all the swimming medals) Some people will probably message how important it is to supplement because of how our food is contaminated blah blah blah How do U know the supplements arent complete and utter rubbish ??? Who told U how wonderful they are? Where is ur proof? Do yourself a favour and eat less crap eat healthier and get out and move ...simple
07.01.2022 How I went from an unhealthy, unhappy and unfit person to a confident fit and happy Personal Trainer. You just never know when you speak to someone what they have been through or what has been the challenges in their life. And for me most people look and see a happy healthy PT. But it hasnt always been the case. I have always been fit and healthy and at 40 I had the world at my feet. I was competing in Body Building (Fitness) competitions and also Outrigging competiti...ons (some of you may know it as Dragon Boat Racing). I was so healthy and so happy with life. But sometimes life can deal some challenging shit. At the age of 41 I got into a relationship that wasnt the healthiest and by the age of 45 I was drinking heavily and not really taking care of myself or my health. I was ashamed and so unhappy but I didnt know how to stop and my stubborn nature refused to allow me to reach out for help. But when I turned 50 I knew I had to change or die. I left the relationship I left my home I left my job I left family and I left friends and moved to start a new life. You are probably thinking by now that I turned my life around right.....nope I actually moped around feeling sorry for myself for another year and it wasnt until my best friend of 32 years suddenly passed away that I had to have a good long hard look at my life and what the hell I was doing!!!! It was then that I finally made the changes. I hired a coach and I enrolled in a course to become a PT. I began learning how the MIND and BODY are so connected and how our mind can make us very unhealthy. I embarked on a journey that created the life I truly wanted. 01.01.2022 HI ladies I need your help. I have had long hair for a decade and am undecided about how to go short for the summer. I would love your opinion on the 4 different styles by putting the number that you think would suit me the best in the comments.
