21.01.2022 Cindy and Michael tied the knot earlier this year in an intimate gathering with family and friends. Those that don't know, Cindy and I worked together many years ago and developed an everlasting friendship. It brings me so much happiness to know that she has chosen to settle down with a great man like Michael. Due to the unforeseen circumstances brought onto us by the dreaded COVID-19, this was the last wedding I shot in 2020. The exciting news is, with restrictions easing o...ff, Weddings are back on the agenda. 20.01.2022 Vision is an integral part of our every day lives. As a photographer and creative, I could not imagine anything worse than not having the ability to see. Sight is something you take for granted until you think you might lose it. Like many of you, I am always looking for ways to help those that are less fortunate. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders still don’t receive the same level of eye health care as the rest of non-Indigenous Australia. With 94% of vision loss for I...ndigenous Australian adults being preventable or treatable, there’s a lot to be done. Many people are blind because they don’t have access to quality and affordable eye health. Of the 36 million people in the world who are blind, many don't have to be. Eye diseases like cataract, trachoma and diabetic retinopathy lead to permanent blindness when often, the conditions are treatable or preventable. Vann, pictured right, was three years old and blind from cataracts. Her parents were constantly worried for her future. Fortunately, The Fred Hollows Foundation was able to help and arranged for Vann to have cataract surgery. Now, Vann is fulfilling her dream of going to school and wants to be a doctor when she grows up. (Photo credit: The Fred Hollows Foundation). As such, I am proud to say that Fotogenique will donate $5.00 from each photography session booked and $10.00 from each photo print sold from the Fotostore, to The Fred Hollows Foundation. The Fred Hollows Foundation has a very clear goal, which is to put an end to avoidable blindness. When this day comes, people in developing countries will get the same quality eye care the rest of the world takes for granted and they won’t stop until this is done. Until the restrictions ease, and to ensure everyone's safety, all sessions currently booked from the 9th July will be rescheduled. 13.01.2022 Exciting news! With restrictions easing slightly, we will be able to commence outdoor photography services. Please note that all sessions will be limited to a total of 5 people only (the photographer and four other people). All sessions are to be held outdoors with social distancing guidelines in place. We are currently updating our COVID Safe plan, as our main priority is the health and well-being of our clients. ... Due to an increased number of sessions that were cancelled earlier this year, the first step is to reschedule those clients. Once we have scheduled all previously booked sessions, openings for new sessions will commence. We forecast that this might not be until the new year, however we will keep you updated along the way. Thank you to all our wonderful clients for your patience and understanding through these challenging times. We’re excited to see you all very soon!

08.01.2022 Yesterdays weather was perfect. I grabbed my camera bag, hopped on my bike and went for a little cruise around the block. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, I don't really have much of a choice as to where I can go. But that didn't matter. Beautiful things are all around us - we just have to look closer. I stumbled across this little fellow, known to the locals as Ernie the Echidna. I spent over an hour laying flat on the ground beside him, watching his every move. I would take small, shallow breaths to avoid scaring him and I think I ended up with something like 50 photos. Isn't he just so damn cute?!
