12.01.2022 Always great when the stud girls (and friesian boys) know the way to the paddock without any fuss! We spend time ‘training’ the girls the different routes around the farm when working them on foot. This makes our life easier for the both of us or even when there is just one of us to move or bring in cattle without the use of vehicles. Working the cattle on foot with our dog, we find will detect any early temperament issues within the calves. ... Herd tours are always welcomed at Fairbrass Park to view our breeding program. #fairbrasspark #fpshorthorns #fpcharolais #charolais #shorthorns
08.01.2022 International Dog Day You may see our trusty dog in our photos and videos. Lucy is a fit young 10 year old short haired Border Collie (maybe something else down the family tree to get these pointy ears!). Lucy loves her cows, well the younger ones at least who play ‘nice’, unlike the mean older cows who have no tolerance for games! You will see Lucy at the farm doing laps, literally LAPS, around the farm checking fences, cows and most importantly the water quality in the dam or troughs
05.01.2022 The girls out to graze one of the hay crops
04.01.2022 A little on the ground snippet of baling up the silage for 2020. This paddock was planned as a hay crop but after being grazed hard with the cattle and a few good weeks of growing weather, it was quickly time to cut and wrap before the crop laid over. This paddock was seeded with a mix of Oats, Rye & Clover. The cattle will graze this paddock shortly and will then will be let to self seed for a grazing paddock in 2021 for the cattle. This will allow the paddock a break from ...being seeded as a hay/silage paddock for the last 4 years. #fairbrasspark #fpcharolais #fpshorthorns #silage2020 #agriculture #youngfarmers

03.01.2022 On the weekend we put aside our to do list of fencing and breaking in heifers to be apart of this awesome truck convoy of donated hay to those affected by the recent fire in the Perth hills. Our good mate Peter at Warby's Transport organised this event in 5 days with all fodder, trucks, fuel and food donated. 14 trucks and 601 bales donated to our fellow farmers in need. #fairbrasspark #farmersacrossborders #hayrun
02.01.2022 That blissful sound after 12ml of rain to get the water flowing into the dam The best steady flow we have had all year with a full catchment.
01.01.2022 Just take a moment and enjoy the view this weekend
