13.01.2022 Frankston residents will need to register for their Foreshore parking permits this year. This comes after a council review of how permits were previously provid...ed to ratepayers after many people were left disgruntled due to accidentally discarding them with some people not receiving them at all in their annual rates notice. Frankston City Council says the new process makes it easier for everyone with those eligible, able to apply online or in person at a Council customer service center from Monday the 10th August. Homeowners will be able to apply for two permits per property valid for 3 years while tenants will only have their permits valid for 12 months. If more than two vehicles require permits in a household then additional permits can be purchased up to a total of 5 per property. To avoid having to pay for parking, foreshore permits can be used at all Frankston waterfront locations including Frankston, Long Island and Seaford.

06.01.2022 DEES FAVORITE RECIPE IRISH SODA BREAD- MARIES BREAD (MY MUM!!) This my favourite childhood bread and even now I love it!... (unfortunately you cannot buy it in Australia) obviously cant get in Australia, so I have dug up my mums old recipe. Try it, easy to make and a breakfast favourite particularly in Northern Ireland. INGREDIENTS: - 2 cups of all purpose (plain flour) flour - 1 teaspoon of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) - teaspoon of salt - 1 cup of buttermilk (available in the fresh milk section of the supermarket) - butter for greasing INSTRUCTIONS 1. In a large bowl, combine flour, bicarb soda and salt. Stir in the buttermilk very gently, dont over fold. Stir until dough just comes together. (Mum actually used a butter knife to stir the dough, so the dough doesnt toughen up!) It will look very wet and even sloppy but thats okay. 2. On a lightly floured surface, pat the dough into a circle about 1 1/2 cms. 3. Use a sharp knife to cut into the circle into 4 quarters. 4. Place a cast iron (again, my mum used this) or a skillet pan over a medium heat and use the butter to lightly grease the pan. Once the pan has heated up (this is the tricky part) it cant be too hot or it will burn on the outside and be raw inside. Make sure that each piece doesnt touch each other in the pan. Panfry until the bottom is browned, it usually take around 6-7 minutes, then you flip it and cook it until browned and heated through!! These are known for the easiness and not many ingredients are used to a very old recipe that is everywhere in Ireland (wish I could get it here!!) Please try these!! Yummy!! You serve with butter dripping on them and usually nice homemade jam or whatever you have handy!

05.01.2022 STARTING FROM AUGUST 2020 Current residential Foreshore Parking Permits, which allow residential ratepayers free parking at Frankston and Seaford beaches e...xpire on 30 September 2020. Permits have previously been distributed every three years via the Annual Rate Notice to residential ratepayers, however at the 11 May Ordinary Council Meeting an improved registration process was endorsed by Council. Many residential ratepayers indicated they were unaware that their permits were included in their Annual Rate Notice and had accidentally discarded them, while others told us they were not received. This new process ensures permits that are unneeded, unused or unwanted are not unnecessarily printed which is better for the environment From August 2020, anyone who owns or rents a residential property in Frankston City can register to receive their new Foreshore Parking Permit on our website or in person at a Council Customer Service Centre If you have questions relating to the new process, you can view frequently asked question and answers, here: FAQs for tenants https://bit.ly/3ieidHD FAQs for residential ratepayers https://bit.ly/3dKmY8l PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO CHANGE TO THE PROCESS FOR RESIDENTIAL TENANTS #FrankstonCity #Foreshore #ParkingPermits
