ARENAMEDIA (Production Company of BLUEBACK) is excited to be hosting a screening of their box office hit PAPER PLANES this Thursday night from 5pm 7pm for local children. This is a FREE event, that is not ticketed. Come along, watch the film, meet some of the creatives involved in the making of the film, participate in a paper plane making competition AND movie snacks and light dinner will be for sale as provided by the Bremer Bay P&C! 22.01.2022 Sustain: The Australian Food Network and partner organisations announce the postponement of the 2020 Food for Thought Festival events due to COVID-19 and the ri...sk to public health. Food for Thought Festival organisers announced today that they are postponing the 2020 Food for Thought Festival, scheduled for March 19 -23 in the Great Southern Region due to the uncertainties raised by the spread of COVID-19 globally. Our first priority is the safety of members, delegates and the local community attending the festival. While the efforts to control the virus are increasing rapidly, the risks remain, and the lockdown on travel in and out of the EU and USA is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. International keynote speakers have had their travel to the event cancelled due to implementing their fatal risk protocols. We are taking this regrettable step with the full agreement of FFTF partners in the Netherlands, USA and nationally. said Festival Director Evelyn Lee Collin. It is better to move the Food for Thought Festival beyond the short-term uncertainties with proposed dates to be confirmed over the coming weeks. Our local, national and overseas colleagues have worked very hard to deliver this event and we are committed to the Food for Thought Festival in the Great Southern Region, and we look forward to announcing the rescheduled date as soon as possible.

Gavin Mair generously donated a fantastic stainless steel groper wall hanging to raffle which raised a further $192 and was won by our wonderful Life Member Ron Harland. 06.01.2022 Great Southern Volunteer Development Officer (VDO) Weekend 2020 has officially begun! A big welcome and thank you to all our amazing VDO volunteers who have g...iven up their weekend to attend. This weekend allows the VDOs the opportunity to reinforce and develop their skills further to enable them to train other volunteers at their local sub centres. Last night the group had an interesting and conversation starting presentation from Ellie Golling on Infection Control and Hand Hygiene. Todays training day begins with CPR and Defibrillation and a presentation from IMPACT CPR guru Dan Rose.
