23.01.2022 #CoodanupCritters The Oblong Turtle is one of the most common varieties of native fauna in the Mandurah region, easily identified by their long necks and oblong shells. Faster than other turtle varieties, these guys are typically in shallow bodies of water. But from September to January, keep an eye out for them on the roads, they often traverse them to return to water. #fraserslanding

Known for their distinctive white cheeks and short bills, the unique bird is now only found in parts of the South West. One of these is the stunning Dancing Bee orchid (Caladenia discoidea) which flowers each year in Spring. Have you been lucky enough to spot one around the neighbourhood?
