25.01.2022 Another set of door pods, this time in a Single Cab 79 Series ute. We've done a few little bits and pieces to Dave's 79 Series over the past few months, but a little while ago he came to us to top it off. We'd already fitted an underseat subwoofer, and changed the front 4" Speakers to the Audison Prima Series, but he wanted more. We fully sound deadened the doors, and fitted the new 79 Series pods from Cruiser Consoles Pty Ltd. This allowed us to fit the new Power Series Coa...xial speakers from Rockford Fosgate Australia. To top it all off, we fitted the new Apple CarPlay and Android Auto head unit from Pioneer Electronics Australia, designed to fit in the Toyota dash. Enjoy the tunes, Dave! 25.01.2022 The guys from Advanced ICE have just released their new Navigation models, for Pioneer and Kenwood head units. There's a few different modules, depending on your choice, but the most important one is the Hema Maps interface. So yes, you can integrate full Hema navigation into your existing Pioneer or Kenwood head unit. Also available with iGo on road navigation, and truck and caravan navigation. ... These are available for Pioneer AVHZ and MVH models, as well as Kenwood DDX and DMX models. 24.01.2022 Good news everyone! The new iOS12 Update from Apple is here, and do you know what that means? Apple CarPlay will now support third party Navigation apps such as Google Maps, and Waze Navigation. If you've already got Apple CarPlay in your car, all you need to do is make sure you update your phone to the new iOS12 Platform, and check for updates on your Google Maps or Waze apps, and you'll no longer be stuck using Apple Maps. ... 24.01.2022 The new RE-350 from RoadEye offers more than just peace of mind while on the road, it also gives you security and protection while the vehicle is parked. The system has three parts; the front camera, rear camera, and the external black box recorder. The front and rear cameras are both quite small, making them discreet and almost invisible from both inside, and outside the car. The external black box keeps all your files safe and secure, so even if someone does break into th...e car and take the cameras, you'll still have all your footage, stored securely elsewhere in the vehicle. 23.01.2022 Justin needed some extra storage in his 79 Series dual cab. He's got a couple of work cars, and him and his boys basically live out of them, so every little pocket or convenient feature was greatly appreciated. He'd seen the "Bulge Shape" roof console from Cruiser Consoles Pty Ltd, and came down and ordered a couple. He opted to go without the UHF cutout, and went the extra storage in the center of console. He has hideaway UHF's in the cruisers, so we can the hand piece up ...the top, so if he's not using it he can just throw the mic in the pockets, out of the way. These are pretty much a must on any tradie's 70 Series Cruiser. 21.01.2022 Wade normally brings us Land Cruisers and Prado's, so it was a bit of a surprise when he called us to work on his Datsun that he'd been restoring. The car came in with the system nor working, and a birds nest of wiring behind the passenger seat. He booked in for a "Tidy up" but it ended up pretty much being a remove and re-fit. The product that was in there was fantastic. It had Focal K2 Power speakers, an Alpine head unit, and Rockford Amplifier. After a re-fit and tidy, as well as a tune, the system sounded as beautiful as the car looks. And boy, is this car a stunner! Wade, it honestly was an absolute pleasure to work on this beautiful piece of machinery. So thank you, and enjoy cruising the streets with some working audio.

21.01.2022 Darren absolutely loves his BF XR-8 Ute. You can tell that he takes really good care of it, and having a soft sport for Ford Utes, of course we took extra special care of it as well. 18.01.2022 Last week we completed a few finishing touches on Dick's Land Cruiser. We used the roof console from Cruiser Consoles Pty Ltd, that's designed to house a GME UHF, and got them to make a little adjustment, so we could fit the Scangauge II up there instead. We also fitted a Platinum series UHF from Uniden, as well as their all black Twin pack antenna. ... We'd already fitted a Navigation unit, front speakers and sound deadening into this cruiser, just needed to come back in to fit the final parts after getting the new bullbar fitted. l If you want a demo on the UHF, or to see a sample of what Cruiser Consoles can offer, come by the shop and speak to one of the Free DB staff!

17.01.2022 A few weeks ago, we had the absolute pleasure of doing some upgrades for Mike at ADVENTURE CURATED. Mike's been building his 76 Series LandCruiser wagon over the past few months, and came to us to do a bit of a sound upgrade in the car. 16.01.2022 I don't think there will be a time where we don't work on either a VE Commodore, or a 70 Series Land Cruiser. Aiden's Senator came in to upgrade the sound, and upgrade we did! New Pioneer Z Series Splits up the front Sound deadening supplied by the team at Stinger Australia... Pioneer GMD Series 5 Channel amplifier Rockford Fosgate P3 12" Subwoofer to ad that punch This was one of those systems I didn't really want to leave the shop. It was too clean to let go! 16.01.2022 Damo searched high and low to find the perfect HSV Maloo that suits him, and he ended up with this blue beauty. He wasted no time in getting an LSA and full exhaust fitted, but the sound system just didn't quite cut it. We hooked him up with the latest Apple CarPlay and Android Auto unit from Alpine Electronics of Australia, with their Series 1 VE Perfect Fit kit. For speakers, we threw in the latest Z Series splits from Pioneer Electronics Australia, as well as a GMD Series... amplifier. To give the system that little bit of kick, we added a 10" subwoofer in a sealed enclosure, from the team at Audison. The car was loud and rowdy, just like the owner. Now the sound system matches. 15.01.2022 Our good friends over at Pioneer Electronics Australia have just released another great little gadget. The DEQ-S1000A, is an independent sound processor, which you can use to upgrade any sound system, in any car. If you want a basic upgrade, the DEQ has a built in 4x50w Amplifier, so you can get a little more power to your speakers, without changing your factory head unit. But if you want to go a little further, the DEQ has you covered. This processor has 3, 4v RCA pre-outs, a 31 band graphic EQ, and a 48-bit Sound Processor. So you can be sure to get the most out of your stereo, with this little addition. The DEQ-S1000A has an RRP of only $300, so if you're wanting an upgrade in your vehicle, it's certainly worth a look at.

15.01.2022 Sometimes it's not all about being the loudest. Sometimes you just have to do a nice clean setup in a nice clean 79 Series Cruiser. 13.01.2022 And now for something completely different... A 79 Series Land Cruiser. But at least this one was a bit different. Alpine iLX702D head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Pioneer TSD 6x9 Speakers Up the front Door pods from the guys at Cruiser Consoles Pty Ltd... Fully sound deadening throughout all 4 doors of the car David wanted to be a little bit different with his Cruiser, hence the colour and tray choice. However, one thing never changes with these cars. The cabin is loud, and the entertainment system is average at best. Was an absolute pleasure to work on your Cruiser, David. See you for the next upgrade.

12.01.2022 These well body 79 Series Cruisers are awesome! The first time I saw one of these I wasn't a huge fan, but after working on a couple and seeing them up close, it's certainly become a must do in my opinion. This car got the usual Free DB treatment. We'd already fitted a head unit and reverse camera for the customer a few months ago. He headed back after getting the tray fitted so we could do the door pods from Cruiser Consoles Pty Ltd, as well as some new Rockford Fosgate Australia Power series speakers. Now the car looks beast, and sounds beast.

11.01.2022 Free DB Car Stereo was lucky enough to be chosen to be one of the few Pioneer Dealers to be able to stock the new Z-Series range of speakers and subs. These new speakers are designed for High Res Audio, so you're getting the best re-production of sound available from the team at Pioneer Electronics Australia. The speakers use a dual layer cone construction, incorporating Twaron, woven together with a Cellulose Fiber, giving them excellent frequency response, but still giving... that strong midbass sound and feel. The new Z-Series subwoofer uses a similar Twaron and Celulose woven cone, so it can keep up with the sound of your front speakers. 11.01.2022 The long awaited Halo9 head unit from Alpine Electronics of Australia is finally here! This unit is astounding, and really needs to be seen, touched, and used before it clicks on just how darn big it is. The Halo9 Head unit, or iLX-F309E if you like using correct part numbers, is a single DIN chassis head unit. With Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB+, Bluetooth, and reverse camera input, what more could you ask for out of a head unit? I mean... Other than the gigantic 9" touc...h screen, that seems to float over the single DIN chassis. These things are just, truly spectacular, the single DIN chassis, and heaps of options for screen angle, depth and height, the Halo9 will fit in pretty much any car. Come by the store at 140 South Terrace, to get your hands on your very own 9" floating display head unit.

Somewhere in it's life, someone has installed some Alpine Type S 6x9's in the rear, Type R 6.5" Coax's up the front, two old school Alpine amplifiers... And a whole lot of house wiring. We gave it a new sound, with the new Alpine R-Series coaxial speakers in the front doors, a new Kenwood Bluetooth head unit, slimline Clarion 10" woofer, all powered by a Pioneer GMD Series amplifier. All the old home wiring... was remove, and replaced with new wiring throughout the whole wagon. I have a huge soft spot for old wagons, so this job was an absolute dream to do. 08.01.2022 Another #Halo9 fitted up, this time in a 2014 Toyota Hilux. The huge 9" screen, was adjusted so it sat vertically in the dash, eliminating the massive glare issue a lot of Hilux owners have with touch screen head units in the dash. These units are awesome, and fit nicely in almost any car. Thanks Zac for letting us fit out your Hilux!

06.01.2022 Phil brought in his 100 Series Land Cruiser for a new UHF and antenna, for his upcoming trip away, and while he was here, we added a few extra goodies as well. New Pioneer Toyota specific unit, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Uniden UH9060 UHF Uniden AT886, all black twin pack antenna ... 05.01.2022 We've fitted a couple of Apple CarPlay head units in Luke's work utes over the past few weeks, but when it came time to do his own car, he wanted something different, something a bit special. So we fitted his BT-50 up with the new #HALO9 from Alpine Electronics of Australia. This strange looking head unit offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB+, Bluetooth, USB and iPod, as well as AM/FM radio. All of which can be viewed and controlled, by the massive 9" floating touch display. Hope you enjoy it, Luke!

05.01.2022 Mel's Subaru Outback was in need of a bit of a re-fresh. She was unsure if we could change out the head unit, as it had the dreaded Liberty dash, but the team over at Stinger Australia actually have a dash kit that allows installation of any double DIN or single DIN head unit. We fitted the car up with the new 6" touch screen unit from Pioneer Electronics Australia. This give's Mel Apple CarPlay, so she can use her mapping, access her phone for calls and music, as well as messaging. We also installed a reverse camera on the back of the car, to make parking just that little bit easier. A lot of people think that, just because their dash is a little bit different, that you can't change the system. If you want to get something done, let us know, we'll find a way!

03.01.2022 As you can see, this car had a small blind spot, which covered the entire back end of the car, so getting a reverse camera was key for Luke. He also uses his BT-50's for work, driving all around town to different jobs. We fitted up the new AVHZ5100DAB from Pioneer Electronics Australia. Giving him Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB+, AM/FM, CD/DVD, and of course, reverse camera input. The decision was to either upgrade the cars to a newer BT-50, which came with Apple CarPlay,... or spend a few dollars and update the ones he had, and with these utes being setup the way he likes them, it was a no brainer. 02.01.2022 This truck turned horse float has had some serious work done to it, but was still lacking entertainment, and parking cameras. We fitted Ben's truck up with the latest Apple CarPlay and Andoid Auto head unit from Pioneer Electronics Australia. This gives the driver control over the music, radio, and integrates a reverse camera which we fitted to the back of the truck. We fitted some speakers to the outside of the truck, so that they can still have some music when they're par...ked up at an event, or just camping out under the awning. This was certainly a different type of job, but it was still a lot of fun! Welcome back any time, guys.
