23.01.2022 Starts Monday It’s not too late to get involved x

21.01.2022 Any time I feel my eating slipping a little (I tend to get a little carried away with desserts #yolo ) I put a little extra effort into my meals - I might add some new flavours, freshness, textures and I make an effort to make my meals look delicious. Who needs dessert when this is the main event

21.01.2022 Ahhhh Spring, my favourite season of the year Isn’t change wonderful

20.01.2022 I have been a little quiet on this page lately - life has been hectic . I have still been posting some foody inspo on Instagram so head on over if you’re missing me!! Why? Why do I run this little insta page and why am I constantly uploading wanky food pics? Simple really, I am genuinely blown away by how delicious healthy meals can taste and I feel like I can’t keep my mouth shut about it. ... As someone who struggled for so, SO many years with their eating and had made the decision that healthy fresh foods were boring and fatty greasy foods were king, it took a big mental shift to change my mindset. Sure, if you try to substitute a cheeseburger with a carrot stick then you’re likely to wind up disappointed BUT if you spend some time trying new recipes, flavours and cooking techniques then you might be just as surprised as I was. If you cook healthy food that you genuinely enjoy then you’re no longer living on a diet, you’re just simple eating - and it’s a pretty amazing feeling to jump off the diet train. It’s not always easy to create new meals and combinations so that’s where platforms like Instagram, Facebook and good old Google can be really helpful. Save recipes that catch your eye and give them a try, you might not like them or you may just find a new favourite Everything you’ve ever wanted is only a few steps outside of your comfort zone

19.01.2022 Old me: I don’t like body attack, all that jumping around and woohoo’ing. It’s way too hard. I also had a list of foods that I didn’t like, which included yoghurt right on the top! Fast forward a few years...... New me: I LOVE body attack! I love that I can smile, clap, jump and woohoo all while have a pretty intense workout. I leave feeling a million dollars and I know I’ve pushed myself to my limits. It is one of my absolute favourite activities to do during the week! I also eat a huge variety of healthy foods and eat yogurt on the daily My point is, it’s ok to have our preferences for movement and/or eating but sometimes it’s also good to give those things another try. Sometimes our own stubbornness gets in the way of realising you actually enjoy something new. You may have a huge list of healthy foods that you don’t like but what if you look for different ways to prepare and flavour those foods, the more options you give yourself the better. So from now on you’ll find me proudly superman’ing and grapevine’ing in the group fitness room

13.01.2022 Meet ‘The Box’ Obviously I am passionate about eating a healthy and well balanced diet but that doesn’t mean I’m perfect, and that certainly doesn’t mean I’m immune to a junk food binge session. There are certain foods that call to me, that are just too tempting and I’m sure they’re whispering my name when I’m stressed or sleep deprived (biscuits being the main culprit ) so I use the box! ... Because I’m all about balance and enjoying the occasional treat, I put all the house goodies in ‘the box’ so I have to intentionally open up the box to enjoy a treat. What this does is it cuts out the opportunity to just stuff something in my mouth while I’m rushing around, it makes me eat and select treat foods much more mindfully and it keeps it out of sight - out of sight, out of mind. For some people this is enough to become more mindful about eating treat foods, for others it might be a matter of not having these foods in the house at all. Finding what strategy works for you is key! Don’t set yourself up for failure by filling your cupboards with unhealthy foods and relying purely on willpower, because eventually willpower tires and we can do a fair amount of damage in a few unsupervised minutes Set yourself up for success

12.01.2022 Starts on Monday

08.01.2022 Last chance for anyone who wants in on this fantastic learning opportunity

04.01.2022 Some days I feel like an imposter moonlighting as a nutrition coach. Who am I to give advice on eating well, when really it’s only something I’ve managed to do for a few years myself, OR am I a great person to partner with based on the fact that I’ve lived on both sides of the fence? The reason I am so passionate about helping people improve their nutrition is that I know exactly how it feels to truly want change, but not knowing how to get on the right path. ... I know how it feels when you have a hundred different stories, suggestions and ideas coming your way and you’re terrified to try the wrong thing. I know how it feels when you commit to doing something new but the little asshole voice in your head tells you that you’re going to fail....again! BUT I am fortunate enough to have some great methods on how to cut out the noise, find enjoyable and achievable strategies to get on the right track and ways to set goals, smash them, and know what a champion you can be! I know how amazing it feels to be in control of your eating and how great it is to not feel guilty about the way you eat. There is no ‘right’ way to eat, the trick is finding what feels comfortable and satisfying for you. Sometimes that requires a little help and guidance from someone who can truly understand your perspective and challenges. This is why I run the 8 week online programs, so you can try different options, get new perspective and ideas for healthy eating and be part of a community of rockstars all striving for their own goals

02.01.2022 Think of all the amazing fresh food combinations that you can enjoy and experiment with Mindset is everything

02.01.2022 My favourite part of the day, lunch! I don’t often eat breakfast as I beeline for the coffee in the morning and then I can happily go about my morning routines including a gym session and just come home to a healthy and hearty lunch. Would this work for everyone, probably not. Does this work for me, it sure does! It’s important to realise that everyone’s bodies respond differently to different things - some people need to eat regularly and others can go longer periods be...tween meals, some people enjoy basic, simple meals and others need fancier, flavour packed feasts - neither is better or worse. Half the battle is just focusing on finding the right plan for you and not worrying about the habits of others. If you make it your mission to find what works for you and how you can implement a healthy and balanced diet consistently then you might find some of the side effects are the goals you began with (better health, weight loss etc)
