22.01.2022 Did you know, according to Finder.com.au, Australians borrowed $29.7 billion dollars on credit cards in Dec 2018.... News.com.au estimated on average, Australians would pay $237 Million in interest alone! December is the biggest spending month for credit cards and if the trend continues, we will surpass this number again this year.... Tis the season to be jolly, and we want everyone to not only enjoy a well deserved break, but start the year off on the right foot Think twice before whipping out the credit card and if you want some end of year support to see what options you have to both enjoy your holidays and not kick off 2020 in debt (or more debt), it's not too late to book an appointment with us. 21.01.2022 Are you constantly dreaming of that tropical sun soaked getaway with blue skies, white sand and crystal clear waters, but never actually put a plan in place to get yourself there!? Well we have some quick saving tips that will help you make that dream a reality in no time. 1. Make a budget - identify things you can cut back or save on in your daily/monthly routine. ... 2. Track your spending - surprisingly spending money on the small things has a huge impact on your savings goals. 3. Pay your credit card off - with interest rates being as high as 25%, ensuring that you pay your credit card on time and in full could save you a lot of extra cash. 4. Plan your meals - meal planning is a huge way to help you save. By planning ahead, you'll avoid random trips to the supermarket (which result in additional spending and even wasting food) and those impulsive meals out. 5. Open a savings account (and don't touch it) - restrict access to your savings and choose a savings account that rewards you for keeping your money in it. These are just a few savings tips to get you on your way to that holiday you've been dreaming of. If your keen to know more, reach out and one of our financial superstars will help you get the savings account you deserve! See more

18.01.2022 Happy Monday! Here are 3 financial to-dos. Check your budget. How are you tracking this month? How healthy are your savings? Did you have any unexpected outgoings and how are you tracking towards your goals? Check your super. How is it performing? Are there any adjustments you'd like to make to your portfolio or is your insurances and fees what you'd expected? Check your bank account, read your emails and your bank statements. Any usual activity in your accounts or a direct debit you forgot to cancel? Any changes to interest rates or new products from your bank?

16.01.2022 It's no secret that women are retiring with less money than men and it's estimated that over 80% of women won't have enough money in their superannuation to retire. It's an issue we're deeply passionate about and we talk about regularly on our page. As mothers, as women, and as female financial advisers, we want to support as many women as we can to take control of their financial futures today. ... It's never too early and while the system might be slow to change and bridge this gap - we're not. We don't want you to become the statistic, we want you to have security, to thrive and be excited by what's to come. So, if you're concerned about your financial future or superannuation, contact us now for a free discovery call www.freedomplanning.com.au #NotAnotherStatistic

07.01.2022 Cash in NOT king Being rich because you have lots of cash and being wealthy are two very different things. Cash on its own does not grow. It does not create more cash and once used, is gone.... Wealth is the generation and regeneration of sustainability, security and financial freedom. It will impact your life and the lives of others whether that's employees, friends or family. True wealth, gives you time, access and freedom - where being rich might buy you stuff. Which would you rather be...?

06.01.2022 Us: So what's your Christmas budget Everyone else: Ha, Christmas budget, you're joking We get it! Christmas and the holidays are a time to #treatyourself and it's harder than ever to practice self-control. We encourage you to: ... 1 Make a budget! Increase your monthly spend, factor in a splurge and make it realistic. 2 Track your money! We tend to forget our money management tools (or ignore our spendings) because we want to enjoy life now and pay for it next year, but, we don't want you starting 2020 with regret and overwhelm from 2019's end of year spending decisions. Stay conscious and present with your finances this Christmas and find a balance that lets you enjoy your holidays and start 2020 on the right financial foot See more

05.01.2022 Do you know the difference between an Accountant and a Financial Adviser? Think of your money as a pie A portion of your pie goes to the ATO, a portion goes to your superannuation and then, a portion goes into your bank (and then to whoever/wherever else you need to pay after that). Generally speaking, an Accountant helps you manage the portion of money that goes towards tax and, if you own a business, are crucial in keeping you compliant whilst also helping you manage gen...eral operating costs/cashflow and other business-related funds. So - who helps you with the rest of the pie? Yep, we do! We’re like a coach for your money, helping you manage the rest of the pie by creating plans and advising you on: Superannuation Savings Spendings Investments Retirement Debts etc. We want you to make your pie work harder, hell - we want you to DOUBLE that pie or keep you eating pie well into retirement. So if you’re needing support with any of the above, contact us for a free discovery call www.freedomplanning.com.au

04.01.2022 3 way to involve your kids with money this school holidays Set the kids an activity budget. Get them to research activities they want to do this school holidays and let them allocate their money. This is a great way for them to learn the cost of things, how to spend wisely and creative alternatives if their first choice falls through Take your kids food shopping and give them cash. In a world of credit cards, paypass and online shopping, money can seem ...like an immaterial, endless supply. Maybe task them with cooking a dinner or dessert. Go through the entire process of finding a recipe, to listing ingredients and working out the cost before you go to the shops. Give them cash to purchase the items so they can see and appreciate the entire process (because drive thru and magic cards that beep isn't how money, or goods, or food is created ) Goal setting! Teach your kids to set financial goals. Is there something they want to buy, is it someones Birthday or maybe a family holiday coming up they want spending money for? Financial goals (and goal setting in general) is such a great way to empower your kids. It teaches them to plan, dream, focus and be resourceful in achieving their goals. Not only could you set financial goals, you could help them with ways to achieve them whether it's getting a job if they're old enough, paid jobs around the house, reaching out to your family or neighborhood, or other creative ways to teach their goals. The concept is no different, use the SMART method and make it age appropriate for your child age. What can you do this school holidays to build strong financial foundations with your children?
