23.01.2022 REGIONAL BOUNDARIES ADJUSTED WA Premier Mark McGowan today announced Phase 2 of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, which will come into effect on Monday 18 Ma...y. Regional boundaries have been adjusted and travel will be permitted: 1- Between Perth, Peel, Wheatbelt, South West & Great Southern 2- Between Mid-West, Gascoyne & Pilbara 3-Within the Goldfields-Esperance region 4-Between Local Government Areas in the Kimberley The Premier says the hard state border will remain in place and will likely be the final restriction to be lifted. Dine-in meal services can resume with a 20 patron limit. The Premier said he will begin discussions with local governments to relax al fresco dining boundaries to allow cafes and restaurants to ensure the four square metre, per person, rule is applied. Bars and pubs can reopen but must operate like a restaurant with a 20 patron limit. Patrons must be seated and alcohol can only be served with food. Weddings and funerals can now have 20 attendees indoors and 30 attendees outdoors. Fitness and dance classes are now allowed with a 20 participants limit with minimal shared equipment. Non-contact community sport and training is allowed, also with a 20 person limit. Kicking and catching a ball to each other is allowed, extra effort to ensure the ball is clean will be required. Public pools can reopen with a 20 person per pool. Places of worship, libraries, community centres & community facilities can reopen with the 20 person limit. West Australians are encouraged to return to work, unless theyre unwell or vulnerable. McGowan says he expects Phase 3 to begin four weeks from the time Phase 2 is introduced, in mid June. Health Minister Roger Cook says we must maintain social distancing and we will not fully return to normal until we have a vaccine.

19.01.2022 First came the Covid lockdown which saw trade decimated for some time and we hung in. Now we face a new situation and are looking for peoples thoughts on this. Our neighbour to the south of us, " The Billabong Homestead Hotel Motel" has now registered a business name as , wait for it. Billabong Shell Roadhouse. Advertised on its signs as Billabong Roadhouse with a shell logo in between. Some of our customers are concerned that this new naming for Shell might ...confuse the public into thinking that they are us. We are just a small family owned hospitality and fuel business who have always tried to look after our customers with a range of good food and affordable prices. We are once again advising our customers and unwary travellers that the Shell is not and will never be the original Billabong Roadhouse. How does this even happen? 01.01.2022 UPDATE.Many thanks to everyone for your kind comments and ongoing support. The excavator has been repositioned. Still in the way, though it is great to see a positive attempt being made. Little happy dance at this stage. Our phone line has seen some people dialing for over an hour today just to get through to book into our accommodation so please just keep trying and we will answer. The Billabong Roadhouse is again being hidden from the driving publics eyes for the... second time in as many years by our neighbours, The Shell Billabong Homestead Hotel Motel A large mining excavator has been strategically placed to block our fuel price signage and effectively our Roadhouse. After the first blocking event by the truck and sign, which took the Shark Bay Shire over 250 days to move, this second blocking is just as astonishing. We were patient with the first case of blocking our business but this time around we are just angry at the lack of urgent action. Im sending this out to let everyone post their comments and share this un-Australian act to hide and mislead the public into false advertising and services. And, coupled with this is the numerous street signs placed by the Shell Billabong Homestead on the roadside reserve displaying the shell logo with cheap clean fuel . A desperate and damaging anti competitive behavior from a business that cannot compete without malice, so it chooses to block out the competitor from the public and instill false doubt and false claim of savings. The Shire is again discussing, Main Roads are sending out letters but the blocking continues now into its second week with damaging consequences in this very fragile revived business environment. Weve been operating for 14 years, opened regular hours throughout the damaging covid shutdown and have provided the best possible quality, price and service to the area with fair competition. Being blocked for a second time is simply outrageous. Your comments and shares would be greatly appreciated to inform the travelling public.
