And a day to celebrate all the special things that Boo has been to our children, staff and families at Free Spirit. We thank you Boo for being a special, caring and loving Educator to our children. 16.01.2022 2020 Starting a fresh new year is always a great opportunity to reflect on the year that has been. Whilst 2020 was a year of challenges, pauses and apprehension, it was also a time for change, growth and resilience. The learning, discoveries and adventures continued at Free Spirit, which allowed our children a place of continuity and familiarity, even through uncertain times and a very different looking world. Our video is a snippet of special times experienced in 2020. ... Our staff would like the opportunity to thank our families for sharing this journey with us. We also sincerely thank you for your very kind words, cards and generous Christmas gifts. We feel very blessed. We wish our children and families who are leaving Free Spirit to begin a new chapter, all the very best. We welcome 2021! Until we open again on Wednesday 13th January, we wish you a safe, happy and restful break with your families. We look forward to welcoming new families to our centre, to reconnecting as a community and for loads more learning, fun and adventures.......

15.01.2022 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY Today our school age children opened the ‘Free Spirit Kindness Cafe’, and they were truely amazing! The idea sparked from a conversation with the children around acts of kindness. With support and guidance, the children grew the concept and opened our ‘cafe’ to help raise funds to support one of our own FS Mums, Bec, in her quest to raise awareness and funds for mental health and The Black Dog Institute. When given time and freedom, our children can achieve amazing things! These children went home today with a sense of pride and achievement knowing, with the support and donations from our generous FS community, they raised $200 for such a worthy cause. Children....you have done us proud

Not only is it a fun, inclusive and social experience to share together, it also gives children foundational knowledge about letters and sounds, story structure, and other core elements of early literacy. 02.01.2022 In our yearly planner, we had last week as Grandparents week. Our intention was to write invitations for Grandparents to join us for afternoon tea. However, with our stage 3 restrictions in place, we are unable to have visitors to the centre. Instead, we decided to send our grandparents a special card to let them know we are thinking of them. It was so lovely to see how excited the children were to talk about their grandparents. Their eyes would light up while looking at thei...r photos. We scribed the exact words our children wanted us to write and the cards were divine! The learning didn’t end there, some of our older children had the opportunity to attach the stamps and post the cards at the local post office. There was a lot of questions about where the letters go when we put them in the post box and how they get to Granny’s house?
