22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I have had a request for a couple of classes but the numbers aren't quite there yet. I have a few parents who would like a junior jazz/classical class for 5-8year olds it will be for complete beginners or those children with a little bit of dance training and cover all the technical foundation skills needed to progress through to more difficult dance work. It will be 45 minute class and super fun! The time slot would be Fridays 4-4.45pm or 5-5.45pm. Please let me... know if you have a student interested as we would like to run this class but need a few more students to make it fun! Kindadance is also available for bookings it will be held every second Friday 2-2.45pm with Miss Maddy Tyler and will feature ballet, jazz and foundational acrobatics. 21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I am doing a fundraiser to buy new Tarkett for the dance studio, some of you are aware I have been making skin products for a few years and during Covid had a lot of extra time on my hands so I created the Alpine Goddess skincare range with deodorants and skin products specifically for dancers! That led to some requests and I have now created a full range of products including tinted moisturisers all of which are Vegan, Chemical Free, Biodegradable Compostable pa...ckaging and made from mostly organic ingredients. I use high quality essential oils, infused botanical elements, butters and oils. Thanks everyone who has inspired me to create the products, tested them and given me great feedback, I was obviously left with lots of time on my hands throughout Covid! The soaps are hand cut so weigh approximately 100gm per bar. 19.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I'm trying to finalise the timetable and class lists for each group. Aerial classes are proving tricky I need everyone to confirm if they are doing Aerial Tissu or Aeial Hoop class this semester. I have students who put their name on class lists last term but haven't confirmed with me if they are doing it this year. 17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, the fees schedule and time in the exam for 2021 examinations is as below: Bronze Medal Jazz - $80 - 30 minutes Silver medal Jazz - $85 - 40 minutes Gold Medal Jazz - $9 - 60 minutes... Gold Star Classical Ballet - $100 - 90 minutes All Classical ballet Students need their theory booklet with them, hair is to be in a bun or French roll hair style, pink tights, black leotard and black chiffon skirt, ballet flats are to be clean and pointe shoes with elastic and ribbons are to be brought into the examination room with the girls. Jazz Dance students are to be in a complete black Freestyle Alpine Dance studio uniform with hair tied back in a bun or ponytail hair style. Jazz shoes are to be clean, no socks are to be worn. There is NO jewellery, nail polish or makeup to be worn in exams. Students are to arrive 15 minutes before their examination to warm up outside. There is to be NO noise outside the studio and students will be numbered on arrival. If you require any uniform items or a classical ballet theory booklet see me in the next week please! The examinations are a wonderful opportunity for students to work toward a higher level of technical achievement, receive feedback fro experienced examiners, and gain an award that can lead to a teaching qualification. 13.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Welcome to 2021 at Freestyle! We have a term jam packed with great classes. I will publish a calender shortly for this semester with all important dates for examinations, rehearsals, competition dates and show dates for Edward Scissorhands mid year performance which will be held in late June. In order to accomodate all students wanting to do musical theatre this year I have made two classes for students, beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced, please ref...er to the list below to see which class you have been allocated to. I have allocated Aerial Tissu and Hoop students a training duet partner. All Aerial Tissu classes have only two students in them and last for 30 minutes in the air and a compulsory 15 minute warm-up in the studio before their classes commence so students are prepared to commence technique work immediately. Aerial Hoop is a 60 minute session is held every second Friday as is Kindaballet and please see list below for confirmed students in that group. I have emailed out the acrodance and acrobatic technique class lists below so no-one is confused about what group they are in. If any students from advanced acrodance on Thursday evenings want to move to Saturday mornings that would be great! Please contact me if you can do this. Please contact me if you need to join/change/alter any of your class selections this week. Please contact me if you for some reason have not received the term letter via email with the class lists for those classes on them and I will email it to you. There will be a small dry cleaning fee per costume as the studio will do this this year. I will be sending invoices out this week for Term 4 which runs from 5th October to 18th December as well as any September holiday classes your student attended. I am only charging for the classes your student attended in these first four weeks due to weather issues etc however the rest of the term is prepaid. I am not charging for the online classes but I will ask students to download the band app and as we do routines next year I will record them and upload them so all students in the class can keep looking at them! Our open week will be in the last week of term from the 14th-18th December and you are free to come in and enrole for classes for next year and try some new ones! 07.01.2022 Hi everyone, The Examination society have just confirmed the 2021 Examination date will be Saturday June 5th this year. I will be confirming inside classes those students who are sitting the exams and allocating them an examination number and an examination group. We have been allocated a wonderful, highly experienced examiner from interstate. I will be putting a few extra exam classes in on Fridays for Gold Star Classical Ballet students before that date to make sure everyone is feeling confident. Mt Beauty Silver Medal Jazz students will also be allocated an extra class before exams. All other levels will be fine!
