25.01.2022 Maths Active School - Bronze status! The Fremantle College Mathematics Department has achieved Bronze status as a Maths Active School in 2020. The Maths Active program allows schools to demonstrate that the school is actively extending their students and teachers beyond the normal mathematics classroom. As a school, we have engaged our students in various external mathematical activities to improve their interest in Mathematics. Some of the activities included the Maths Talen...t Quest, World of Maths, Australian Maths Competition and Have Sum Fun competition. We also run the Maths Zone sessions at Fremantle College to assist students at school and our staff members have regularly attended the MAWA conference for professional development. Based on the evidence provided, we were awarded the Bronze status by the Maths Association of Western Australia (MAWA). The program is also recognised by the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers. Please have a look at https://mawainc.org.au/math-active-schools/ for more information about the award.
