25.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 3 REVIEW - SMITH SUPERB FOR 3RD GRADE SIDE FDCC’s 3rd Grade side has suffered a disappointing first loss of the season against Midland Guildford CC at Stevens Reserve last Saturday. The Port Boys made 5/186 off their 45 overs before Midland-Guidford chased the score down with just over 5 overs remaining. However, there were plenty of positives from this match up with Kaleb Smith (77 off 92 balls) proving once again why he is one of the most exciting up and ...coming talents at the Port! Lukas Debnam also performed well with the ball taking 2/28 off 8 overs. We are sure that the boys will bounce back strongly in a big match up against Claremont-Nedlands CC. This round review video is proudly brought to you by our social media sponsor CPS Capital. Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

And in more exciting news... we have another competition for you this week (Congratulations to last weeks winner Alex Xiao). Comment below this post with your guess on the total combined score of FDCC across all four grades for this weekend (i.e. the team total of the FDCC teams that bat against Perth on the first Saturday of the fixture. For example 487). Closest guess to this number will receive an FDCC stubby holder valued at $10 (or a signed Chris Greenwood picture its up to you)! 25.01.2022 FDCC MARSH MEDAL CONTENDER KAIDEN COOKSON With only 2 days until the 2020-2021 FDCC Marsh Medal Awards Night, the next part of our contender series will focus on FDCC’s self-appointed best looking player and 21st Birthday boy Kaiden Yum-Yum Cookson. Kaiden had another great season in 2020-21 after breaking out in fine style the previous year and continues to develop into a genuine spin bowling all-rounder who can bat at every spot in the order and bowl at any moment in an... innings. Kaiden made 247 runs at 27.44 in his 18 A Grade matches including a top score of 59 in an exceptional innings against Claremont-Nedlands in the One Day Grand Final. Cookie backed up his batting with another solid season with the ball on his way to 22 wickets at an average of 21.23. Yum Yum was given a significant workload with the ball and continues to be relied upon in all formats to tie down opposition batsmen, as demonstrated by his low economy rate in all formats. Cookson has all the tools to be a dominant all-rounder in the First Grade competition and we are very excited to watch his journey unfold before our eyes! Can Kaiden get the ultimate 21st birthday present by winning a Marsh Medal after a close finish last season? To find out, make sure to secure you and your partners tickets at https://www.trybooking.com/BPWXI. The Marsh Medal will be held at the stunning Fremantle Sailing Club on Marine Terrace this Saturday 10 April 2021, commencing at 6.00pm for a 6:30pm start to proceedings and running until late into the evening. Check out our event on Facebook for all the details! Go the Port #foreverfreo

23.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 6 HIGHLIGHTS - CAMPBELL GREEN’S BOWLING MASTERCLASS The first Saturday of FDCC’s two day senior fixtures against Mount Lawley CC were unfortunately heavily affected by wet and wild weather that hit the Perth Metropolitan area in the lead up to the weekend. The impact of this weather meant that the 2’s were completely washed out at Breckler Park and the 4’s saw a brief period of play before following suit. The 1st Grade and 3rd Grade boys managed to see some ...play at Stevens Reserve after a phenomenal curators performance from Pepi. More details of these rain affected matches will follow later in the week once more information comes to hand from the WACA. However, there was one standout performer from the Port this weekend in trying circumstances and that was none other than 3rd grade strike bowler Campbell Green. The son of a (self proclaimed) gun was clinical against Mt Lawley for our 3rd Grade side and Green finished with figures of 6/32 off 13.2 overs, which helped restrict Mt Lawley to 199. Green’s performance was extremely impressive as he continues his rapid improvement as a senior cricketer. He was consistent with his line and length and forced batsmen to react quickly to his fast action and release. Well done Campbell from everyone at the Port! Now it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy all of the highlights of Cambadoi’s bag of wickets thanks to our social media sponsor CPS Capital. Go the Port! #foreverfreo

23.01.2022 HARRIS’ HEROIC (ALMOST) HUNDRED Gun opening batsmen Dylan Harris has started his season spectacularly after carrying his bat for an unbeaten 99 in our U17’s sides disappointing 24 run loss to Joondalup Centurions CC. Harris opened up and controlled the innings wonderfully as he found a strong mixture of singles, 2’s and boundaries throughout his innings of 99* off 133 balls. Unfortunately he was stranded at the non-strikers end when the final wicket of the innings was lost. ... Well done Dylan and unlucky to our U17’s boys and their super coach Chris Greenwood. Here is a highlights package of Harris’ best moments in his unbeaten (almost) century! Go the Port! #foreverfreo

22.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 2 REVIEW - 3RD GRADE’S SUPER START FDCC’s 3rd Grade side started its season with a clutch 2 wicket win against University CC at Stevens Reserve on Saturday thanks to some heroic lower order batting. The Port Boys were sent into the field first and bowled consistently to keep the University bookworms to a score of 9/172 off their 50 overs. Young gun Kaleb Smith was the stand out with the ball taking 3/30 off 9 overs whilst De Silva (2/27) and Anscombe (2/31) ...also bowled admirably. Our 3rd Grade boys started their chase well with the team cruising at 2/118 thanks to starts from David King, Callum Kay and Kaleb Smith. However, a flurry of middle order wickets left the lads at 8/160 needing 13 runs to win with only two wickets left. Cometh the moment, cometh the man as talented 18 year old Brandon Walsh blasted a quick fire 23 not out off 14 balls to see the boys across the line in the last over which included two clutch boundaries. Well done to the new finisher and to all the 3rd Grade boys! This round review video is proudly brought to you by our social media sponsor CPS Capital. Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

22.01.2022 "The PortCast" Episode 3: We're going to the Chappell "It's scary to think that one podcast can gain such a big chunk of the sports podcast market after only two episodes" - Benoit Gaffney This is how the host of The PortCast described another hugely successful week for the project as viewership went through the roof. This week the podcast looks to grow from that success with another look into the day to day events at Fremantle District Cricket Club whilst reviewing our pre...vious round of fixtures against Midland-Guildford and looking ahead to Claremont-Nedlands. So join our hosts FDCC 3rd Grade Captain Benoit Gaffney, FDCC Night Captain Jordan Buller and our Junior Development Coach Chris Greenwood for a light-hearted chat in all things Freo. And in more exciting news... we have a competition for you this week. Comment below this post with your guess on the combined age of FDCC's 4th Grade side for this Saturday's fixture against Claremont-Nedlands (i.e. add up the ages of all eleven players). If anyone guesses this number correctly, they will receive an FDCC stubby holder valued at $10!!! As always, please let us know via our social media what you like or don't like about "The PortCast" and we will take on your comments to produce the best show we possibly can. 22.01.2022 FDCC MARSH MEDAL CONTENDER - SAM WHITEMAN Today is the big day...the 2020-2021 FDCC Marsh Medal Awards Night! Our final contender to focus on before tonight’s countdown is Australian domestic crickets in form man, Mr Sam Whiteman!... Sam had a truly ridiculous season when he did come down to earth for brief periods to represent the Port as he accumulated 685 runs at a Don Bradman like average of 97.86. Whitey scored runs with ease as he made two flawless centuries of 165 and 166 against Perth and Bayswater-Morley respectively. He also made scores of 80, 78, 74, 62 and 45 with only two fails out of 9 innings . Could Sam finish off his incredible season with a Marsh Medal around his neck? We can’t wait to see you all at the Fremantle Sailing Club from 6pm tonight to find out! Go the Port! #foreverfreo

20.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL JUNIORS HIGHLIGHTS - DAVIES DOMINANT DISPLAY FDCC’s set of fixtures over the last two weekends produced a number of impressive and exciting performances across all of our senior and junior grades with 4 centuries being scored and a few 5 wicket hauls to go along with that! However, one innings really caught the attention of tue FDCC social media team and that was the powerful century from young gun Keegan Davies in our U15’s fixture against Rockingham-Mandurah CC.... Davies entered the crease at 2/77 in our big chase of 263 and dominated from the get go to smash 123 off just 96 balls. The big right hander smashed 17 boundaries and 2 sixes in an incredible display of power and class! Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to see the U15’s boys across the line as they fell agonisingly close to lose by 12 runs. Congratulations Keegan from everyone at FDCC! Sit back, relax and enjoy all of the highlights of Keegan’s century thanks to our social media sponsor CPS Capital! Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

19.01.2022 Fremantle District Cricket Club’s A Grade side maintained its perfect record with a tough and gritty 3 wicket win against University CC at Stevens Reserve on Saturday. The Port Boys bowled first on a tricky surface and kept the bookworms to a measly total of 9/137 off their 50 overs. It was another well balanced team bowling performance with Carder picking up 3 wickets and all other bowlers playing their roles and chipping in. It was a very exciting day out in the field as a...ll eleven of our A Grade side were FDCC developed juniors who had grown up dreaming of an opportunity to play on the big stage together. This is a true testament to the clubs development pathways and to the junior coaching system! The Port Boys started their chase of 137 strongly with the new opening partnership of Carder and Holman combining for 51 runs before Holman was dismissed. The boys then ground out the win on the difficult surface with 3 wickets and 94 balls remaining. Captain Carder (50 off 65 balls) continued his strong start to the season, with Holman (28 off 36 balls) and Cookson (24* off 50 balls) both chipping in to help the boys to their 2nd W of the season. The win was enough to take our A Grade to the top of the ladder after the first two rounds! Well done lads! This round review video is proudly brought to you by our social media sponsor CPS Capital. Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

19.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 4 REVIEW - 2ND GRADE GO TO 4-0 Fremantle District Cricket Club’s 2nd Grade side has continued its winning ways with another comprehensive 51 win against Claremont-Nedlands CC at Stevens Reserve on Saturday. The side entered the match with 5 changes from the previous fixture, however, this did nothing to stop the teams positive momentum. The boys batted first on a great Stevens wicket and got off to a hot start with openers Oatey (51 off 58 balls) and King (2...8 off 84 balls) adding 98 for the first wicket partnership. They were then assisted by three FDCC young guns with Toomey (29 off 31 balls) and two debutants Kaleb Smith (44 off 52 balls) and Callum Kay (40 off 59 balls) guiding the Port Boys score to 6/230 off 50 overs. The 2s heroes then did a fantastic job with the ball to dismiss CNCC for 179 after the tigers got off to a strong start and were 3/131 at one stage. All bowlers performed admirably with Headland (3/30), Toomey (2/15) and Smith (2/38) starring. Well done boys - please enjoy our CPS Capital video highlights from the win that places FDCC in second spot on the 2nd grade ladder. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, we can only show the batting innings highlights. Meanwhile, our A grade side suffered a close 41 run loss to CNCC in a keenly fought contest at Cresswell Park. The standout performers for the Port were Greer (1/20 off 7 overs and 24 runs), Holman (55 off 72 balls) and Richardson (63 off 71 balls). On to red ball cricket for the A grade boys as they come up against Rockingham-Mandurah in their next fixture. A wrap up of our impressive lower grade results will follow later in the week. We would like to congratulate these men on an impressive Saturday in difficult circumstances. This round review is proudly brought to you by our social media sponsor CPS Capital. For context, Greeny took 6/32 off 13.2 overs last weekend. What we are looking for is the wickets and runs only (no over or maiden details required). Closest guess to the figures will receive an FDCC stubby holder valued at $10 (or a signed Chris Greenwood picture its up to you)! 16.01.2022 BYROM’S SPECIAL LORDS CENTURY Current FDCC Marsh Medallist Eddie Byrom has put together an incredible innings for Somerset CCC overnight in the Bob Willis Trophy County Championship Final at Lords. Affectionately known as the slug at the Port due to his unassuming and leisurely walking and running styles, Eddie accumulated a superb 117 runs off 217 balls. Byrom entered the crease at the home of cricket with the match on a knife’s edge with Somerset’s score at 3/52. He proce...eded to beautifully steer the Somerset boys to a competitive total of 302 in a typically controlled but powerful innings. Eddie is hopeful that he will be able to return to play for FDCC at some point this summer after a very successful 2019-2020 debut season at the Port but he appreciates that this looks unlikely due to the travel restrictions resulting from COVID-19. Well done Eddie from everyone at Fremantle District Cricket Club on an amazing effort. Good luck to you, Tom and everyone at Somerset CCC for the rest of the final! Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

16.01.2022 FDCC CLUB COACH & CAPTAIN STAR AT OLLY COOLEY MEDAL The 2020-21 WA Premier Cricket Season wrapped up on Friday night with the Olly Cooley Medal Awards Night at the famous WACA Ground. Whilst the club was disappointed not to be heading to the night to pick up a few premiership trophies, the event still proved to be very fruitful for the Port Boys.... Firstly, Joe Piromalli was rewarded for over a decade of hard work and improvement as head coach of FDCC as he was award the 2020-21 WA Premier Cricket Senior Men’s Coach of the Year! This award was certainly recognition for the amazing coach that Joey has been for a long, long time at this club and we are so proud to have him involved at the Port. Meanwhile, in the main event of the night, FDCC Club Captain Jake Carder came runner up in the Olly Cooley Medal count as he fell short by just 1 vote after missing the last round of the season due to State representative duties. Jake has been an absolute star for a long time in the WA Premier Cricket and he is destined to achieve big things in his career in the immediate future! Finally, Fremantle District Cricket Club finished off a threepeat of Lord’s Taverner’s Spirit of Cricket Trophies as we received the award recognising the WA Premier Cricket Club that plays the game fairly and the right way. To win this award three years in a row is a true testimony to the culture established at our great club and the quality of the young men, coaches and committee members involved. We truly are blessed at this club to be surrounded by amazing people and pride ourselves on maintaining high standards in all facets of our operations. To Joe, Jake, and all players, we congratulate you for each of your achievements for this season! Let’s hope we can build on these accolades for next season and add a couple of flags to the mix. Go the Port! #foreverfreo

16.01.2022 HAT TRICK - BELLA XIAO, BELLA XIAO, BELLA XIAO Our Wednesday Wicket Warrior is none other than 2nd Grade strike bowler Alex Xiao who took a stunning hat trick on Saturday against University CC. Alex’s overall bowling performance was just as impressive as he finished with figures of 5/39 off his 10 overs including 5 of the top 7 uni batsmen! Xiao’s bowling performance, along with solid contributions with the bat from Buller (87), Fox (36) and Moore (33) helped lead the 2nd Gra...de heroes to a comprehensive 106 run win which places them 3rd on the ladder after the first two rounds. 15.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL COLTS T20 R1 HIGHLIGHTS - HAT TRICK HERO HOLMES Robbie Holmes had a day to remember in the first Colts T20 fixture of the season on Sunday against our friendly neighbours Melville CC at Stevens Reserve. Robbie King Simp Holmes took his first career hat trick in unique circumstances thanks to three LBW’s in a row that would have all cannoned into middle stump. FDCC put out a strong colts side for the first match of the group format tournament which featured 9 pl...ayers who had represented the club in either First Grade or Premier T20 cricket! The Port Boys batted first and put together a strong total of 3/156 off their 20 overs. Four of the top five performed strongly with Hudson Baby Jake Toomey (33 off 23 balls), Bayley Holmbadud Holman (42 off 36 balls), Jack Jack x3 Camarda (43 not out off 38 balls) and Kaleb Smudge Smith (33 not out off 19 balls) all very impressive! Melville got off to a strong start in reply but the class of Kaiden Yum Yum Cookson (3/22 off 4 overs) changed momentum with a maiden over that also resulted in three wickets. It was then Holmes’ (3/23 off 4 overs) turn to come on and break the game open with an incredible hat trick and we have all three dismissals for you to rewatch over and over again similar to Peter Siddles’ famous birthday Ashes hat trick. These superb efforts resulted in Melville finishing their 20 overs at 8/133 and allowed the Port Boys to complete a solid 23 run victory! The Colts heroes will head to Breckler Park next Sunday morning to take on Mt Lawley in the second fixture of the tournament. Meanwhile, our returning A Grade T20 champions also started their campaign off strongly with a comprehensive 6 wicket victory! More details of their win will follow later in the week. Well done to both sides from everyone at the Port! Now it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy all of the highlights of Holmes hat trick thanks to our social media sponsor CPS Capital. Go the Port! #foreverfreo

12.01.2022 The FDCC Committee, it’s members and supporters would like to pass on their condolences to Lewis, Steele, Alec and Campbell Green and family & friends with the sad news of the passing of Lewis’ father Len over the weekend. All senior and junior players and coaches will be wearing black armbands in Len’s memory this weekend. The service to commemorate this special man is at 10am on Monday March 8. It is at the West Chapel at Fremantle Cemetery. You are welcome to meet at the Carrington Street main entrance at 9.45 if you wish to walk with the procession to the chapel, or meet at the chapel at 10. A private burial follows and the wake is from 2pm in East Fremantle.

12.01.2022 STAR PERFORMERS There were some great performances over the weekend as T20s and Colts kicked off. Ryan Fox top scored for Fremantle 2nd Grade with 67 off 13...4 against Perth. Dan Newman starred for Fremantle U15s, taking 4/32 against Perth Robbie Holmes and Kaiden Cookson both took 3fa in Fremantle Colts’ win over Melville Oli Arkinstall showcased his big hitting with 44 off 25 in Willetton Colt’s win over Country XI. Oli famously broke the record for highest junior score when he made 272* off 170, so its great to see him recapture some of that form. Aaron Hardie emerged from quarantine to take 3/17 in Willetton’s Premier T20 win over Country XI. Tom Murray made 45 off 84 for South Perth U15s against Subiaco-Floreat. Ash King smashed an unbeaten 30 off 28 in Melville A-Grade’s win over South Perth. Great work to everyone! As always, if we have missed any standout performances please let us know in the comments below. . . . . #cricket #cricketcoaching #wa_premiercricket

12.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 3 REVIEW - A GRADE GET TAKEN TO MONKEY TOWN Fremantle District Cricket Club’s A Grade side has lost its first match of the season in a tough six wicket loss to Midland Guildford CC at Stevens Reserve last Saturday. The Port Boys batted first on a surface that was well balanced for both batsmen and bowlers after losing the toss and being sent in. The top order got us off to a strong platform as we were 1/105 with captain Carder (48 off 66 balls) and Kennedy ...(53 off 70 balls) at the crease. However, a slump followed this solid start as the Port Boys lost 5/25. Chris Davenport (51 off 72 balls) steadied the ship and guided us to a decent total total of 9/208 off 50 overs with a very mature innings that highlights his development as a batsmen and leader within the team. The Midland Guildford top order was simply too good in reply as they passed our score with 6 wickets and 11 balls remaining. Sam Greer was the standout with the ball for the Port Boys taking 2/36 off 9 overs in another impressive effort from the 18 year old. The disappointing loss drops FDCC down to 4th on the A Grade ladder. We are sure that the boys will bounce back strongly in a big match up against Claremont-Nedlands CC. In other news, our 2nd Grade side continued their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive 70 run win against Midland-Guildford’s expected finals team! Goninan (65 off 82 balls), Moore (3/19 off 7 overs) and Headland (3/27 off 8.2 overs) were the standout performers. Meanwhile, our lower grade review will follow later this week. This round review video is proudly brought to you by our social media sponsor CPS Capital. Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

12.01.2022 LINCOLN HOBBS’ BIG FDCC DEBUT Future FDCC star Lincoln Hobbs announced himself to the club in style after an unbeaten 111 off 161 balls in his debut in our U15’s sides dominant 6 wicket win against Joondalup Centurions CC. Lincoln opened the batting and controlled the innings masterfully as he guided the U15’s to, and beyond, the total of 121 set by the Centurions. His innings included 13 fours which demonstrated his power and he was ably assisted by Jack Anderson (31 off 64 ...balls) and Keegan Davies (40 off 43 balls). Hobbs picked up 2/15 off 8 overs with the ball as Solomon Ashe (3/15) and Keegan Davies (2/17) also starred in our bowling innings. Well done Lincoln and to our U15’s side on their impressive performances. Here is the video of Hobbs going to his century for you all to enjoy! Go the Port! #foreverfreo

11.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 4 REVIEW - BERNIE’S BATTING BLITZ FDCC’s fourth grade side has completed an epic 54 win against Claremont-Nedlands CC at Stevens Reserve on Saturday thanks to a Bernard Hoogenboezem batting masterclass. The 4’s boys won the toss and elected to bat on a flat Stevens wicket and Bernie got the boys off to an absolute flyer as he laid into the oppositions pace bowling. Hoogenboezem ended up making an explosive century (124 runs off 111 balls) in an innings tha...t featured a full array of aggressive stroke play and lead the 4’s heroes to a score of 9/228 off their 45 overs. The Port Boys then put together an elite effort in the field as they bowled out the tigers for 174. The standout of the afternoon session was none other than young gun Andrew Morisey who finished with extremely impressive figures of 5/25 off 9 overs! Well done Moz we are so excited about your future at the Port. Meanwhile, our third grade side also had a comprehensive 48 run victory with debutant Sean Fox stealing the show with a classy century to guide the boys to a W. Fox batted at three and smashed the CNCC bowlers all around the field as he was eventually dismissed for 117 runs off 115 balls. Sean is the older brother of 2nd grade young gun Ryan and showed why his little brother has been talking him up over the last few years. Welcome to the club Sean! Fox was supported brilliantly by Aaron Beecroft who ended up 72 not out off 104 balls to help the Port Boys to a big total. This total proved too many for the tigers as six FDCC bowlers were in the wickets! Sit back, relax and enjoy all of the highlights of Bernie’s day out thanks to the CPS Capital video highlights. We would yet again like to congratulate all of our lower graders on an impressive round of fixtures! Go the Port! #ForeverFreo

11.01.2022 PORT BOY BEN O’CONNOR’S CYCLING SUCCESS Former Port Boy Ben O’Connor has achieved greatness in a different pursuit during the week as he won Stage 17 of one of the worlds biggest bike races, the Giro d’Italia! O’Connor achieved the amazing feat on one of the toughest mountain stages of the event in a spectacular summit finish. Many from FDCC knew about O’Connor’s incredibly athleticism from a young age as they remember him (quite literally) lapping the rest of the club during... our 2km time trials throughout the season. However, the transition from running and cricket to cycling has well and truly brought the best out of O’Connor who is one of the best young talents in the sport. We wonder how this amazing achievement compares to Ben’s best moment with the bat at FDCC where he smashed 118 off 158 balls against Willetton for our U17’s side in 2011. A couple of current Port Boy stars were in the same side that day with current A Grade captain Jake Carder (DNB), Chris Davenport (5 off 13 balls) and lower grade guns Benoit Gaffney (36 off 54 balls) and David King (26 off 54 balls) all playing in the comprehensive win. Well done from everyone at the Port Ben! Good luck for the final stages of the Giro d’Italia! Go the Port! #foreverfreo

09.01.2022 CPS CAPITAL ROUND 6 HIGHLIGHTS - FIRST GRADE’S CLUTCH FINISH All four senior fixtures against Mount Lawley CC were changed to one day matches on Saturday after some torrential rain prior to the first week of the fixture caused a washout of the first day. The resulting one day match produced a memorable one run victory for the Port Boys in the First Grade competition after a classic match of ebbs and flows!... Before we show you the full set of highlights over the upcoming days, we thought that we would provide you with a little teaser in the form of the last 8 balls of the match. We commence coverage with Mount Lawley in a strong position needing only 9 off 8 balls with two set batsmen and 5 wickets remaining. Sit back and enjoy the epic finish to our First Grade sides clutch win (and particularly Jhye Richardson’s incredible bowling) which is proudly brought to you by our social media sponsor CPS Capital! 08.01.2022 FDCC MARSH MEDAL CONTENDER - JACOB HEADLAND With only 1 sleep until the 2020-2021 FDCC Marsh Medal Awards Night, the next part of our contender series will focus on the breakout fast bowler in the WACA Premier Cricket competition for this season. Jacob Headland defied expectations (and some) in one of the most extraordinary FDCC First Grade debut seasons in recent memory as he absolutely blew the entire competition away with his ability to hit a hard length and to swing and s...eam the ball both ways! Des Headland destroyed opposition top orders to collect 29 wickets at a superb average of 17.21 from his 13 A Grade games. He picked up 2+ wickets in 9/14 innings he bowled in and the pinnacle moment of his season was a career best 6/62 off 22 overs against Perth in one of his first games at the level. What makes this season even more astonishing is the fact that Jacob was not selected in 2nd grade for the first game of the 2020-21 season and only found his way into that team initially due to exceptional circumstances. But boy did he take his opportunity as he proceeded to take 11 second grade wickets at an average of 8.55 in his first four games of the season prior to getting his A Grade opportunity. What a truly phenomenal season! Could Jacob cap off this amazing year with a Marsh Medal around his neck? To find out, make sure to secure you and your partners tickets at https://www.trybooking.com/BPWXI. The Marsh Medal will be held at the stunning Fremantle Sailing Club on Marine Terrace tomorrow (Saturday 10 April 2021) commencing at 6.00pm for a 6:30pm start to proceedings and running until late into the evening. Check out our event on Facebook for all the details! Go the Port #foreverfreo

The first contender is none other then the Prince of the Port Bayley Holman in what was a breakout season for the young gun! Holmba took his game to the next level this season and proved to his doubters that he is a quality First Grader with a very bright f...uture. Holman scored 446 runs at an average of 28 in a season featuring 5 scores of 50+ in First Grade fixtures. The pinnacle of his season was a classy 96 off 147 vs Bayswater-Morley in Round 12 where Bayley fell agonisingly close to his first A Grade century. 02.01.2022 FDCC A GRADE DEBUTANT - HEADLAND GETS CAP 679 Fremantle District Cricket Club is pleased to announce an A Grade debutant as Jacob Des Headland became the 679th player to represent our First Grade side over the weekend. Jacob has been in stellar form to start the season already taking 11 second grade wickets at an insane average of 8.55 through four games. This consistent high level performance led to an opportunity in A Grade on Saturday which Jacob grabbed with both hands... bowling admirably and frequently creating opportunities for wickets. The right arm fast bowler is a prime example of a player who has consistently worked on his game in 2nd and 3rd grade over the last four seasons since entering the senior ranks at the Port. Everyone at FDCC is incredibly happy to see your hard work paying off Jacob and we all hope to see you enjoying yourself at A Grade level. Headland joins an elite list of players to represent the Port at our top level including current club coach Joe Piromalli and assistant coach Wayne Copeland, as well as a number of current and former Western Australian and Australian representatives!
